Irondale is a bit of a drive for me, but I have really been wanting to try the trending fruit pastries that I've seen online. My two sons and I drove over to Sunshine's bakery this morning and I must admit-- it was worth the drive. We started out with three of the mango pastries and two ham and cheese croissants. The mango pastries were very good. The inside was kind of like a pudding/mousse and it did have real mangoes as well. My husband wasn't able to come with us so I picked up two more fruit pastries, another mango and the pear one. Even with it being a drive, I can see myself coming out here again. Oh, and the employees inside were very, very nice and hospitable. One of the employees, I believe may be the owner, came outside when we were eating and asked us how we liked everything and even asked for any feedback on how to make things better. Wanted to grab a sweet treat and go my surprise this place was open on a Sunday. It's located in a cute shop in Irondale. Kind of have to make your own parking but it is plenty of room. Went a little later in the day, but they still had many options to choose from along with some of the biggest croissants I've ever seen in my life. I had to resist from grabbing one of everything. I ended up getting the mango and apple entrement. They did not disappoint. The fruit in the middle took it to another level. I will definitely be back to try their biscoff coffee drink they have along with another sweet treat! read more

If you love croissants, then you need to visit this bakery. Follow them on Facebook where they post their menu for the weekend and make sure you go early on Friday-Sunday (these are the days they're open for business.) They have savory treats, sweet treats, breads, drinks, and friendly service. I stopped by in Sunday and the plain croissant I ate on the way home was perfect. Slightly warmed up for me and has a slight sweet taste on top, I should have turned around and purchase some more! Next time, I'll order a dozen ahead of time so I can freeze them and eat them at leisure (every morning!) Loved this bakery so much! I finally got a chance to swing by and try a few of their pastries. I got a sausage pastry and a chocolate croissant. Both were fantastic! This place has been on my list for months so we finally got a chance to go. Not disappointed. Prices are online so I rank this in my places that I go when I want to treat myself and I am worth it. The Ham and Cheese croissant was worth it in every bite. When I thought the ham was gone, it wasn't lol. I treated my daughter to a sweet treat and I got myself one for later. She loved hers and I am sure I will love mine. Let's support our small local community businesses and treat ourselves as well. I absolutely LOVED my first visit to Sunshine's Bakery. The owners are husband and wife and they both are amazing! I really enjoyed talking with them during my visit. The Vietnamese coffee I had was absolutely delightful! It was like a nice hug. Despite it being iced coffee, it was sooooo good. Highly recommend! I also tried the king cake croissant; this croissant was so light and full of flavor. I especially enjoyed the cream inside the croissant. Perfection with the right amount of sweetness! Yep. The bakery interior is full of delicious treats. The staff is so welcoming. There isn't indoor seating but there is outdoor seating available. The macarons are to DIE FOR! The blueberry cheesecake macaron is by far the yummiest thing I've had. The owners are so kind and friendly. We sat and spoke with one of them one afternoon and greatly enjoyed their company and learning about their business. Out of most things. I drove way out of my way and arrived less than hour after opening and shelves are bare, out of almost every but 2 cookies flavors. They tell me they ran out the day before. At opening if you are out of over 50% of the items you offer that needs to be posted on your socials. I love to support local because and love finding new bakeries but the lack of communication and near nothing to choose from I will not drive out of my way to chance it again.
