Always a great choice to stop at K & J's! New cupcake selections made each day. If you miss the store hours, no worries. Just get something out of the vending machine! If you want to sit down and enjoy your treats, you'll enjoy all the beautiful pink decor and relaxed atmosphere.
Such a cuteeeee dessert lounge! The staff were extremely polite and helpful with me making a decision on what to try since they have an endless amount of variety options to choose from. This pastry lounge is really clean and the splash of pink everywhere is amazing! I will most definitely go back to try other items!
Outside, you will find a small storefront in the heart of Uptown Bham underneath the sprawling highway bridges. The lighting is so subtle but warm from overhead and the walk down consists of some of City Walk, the Barkery dog park, and tennis courts where many were busy inside of. Inside the store , the cutest interior decor fit so delightfully with the bright and happy baked goods. We got a two pack and a cinnamon roll to share. We both enjoy the icing more than the cake part separately, but both together were a perfect match! Service was quick and workers attentive to those in line. Just be aware that during events in the area - be patient finding a parallel park!

My coworker and I had an amazing time at K&J's! First off, the sweet pink café ambience is right on point with the concept. I ordered a Double Cookie Sundae and two cupcakes for tomorrow. The sundae was fantastic! Warmed cookies, incredible ice cream, chocolate, drizzle, whipped cream, crunchy cookie pieces. Everything my little heart desired! As for the proverbial "cherry on top", I can't remember when I've had a better service. Everyone in there was so genuinely kind and friendly and seemed so happy to be there. It felt like coming into someone's family kitchen. I could not recommend K&J's enough.

This place was jumping on a Saturday afternoon but service was quick and staff was friendly! It's so cute inside. This was my first time actually coming in. My cheesecake looked like it already had a bite taken out lol. For $8 I would've liked a whole slice but it's alright. Their red velvet tastes like chocolate cake but the cheesecake part was good. There was a random strip of cookie dough which didn't really add anything for me. I wouldn't get it again but definitely want to come back and try something else!
I saw this place on Instagram and TikTok and they were raving about how good the cupcakes were so I had to come check it out despite customers were steady coming in. I took my turn and I'm glad I did because these cupcakes are so good!! Excellent customer service and beautifully decorated!

So, Let me tell you it is tough making a decision on which one to get I chose four of them and the lady said that's great, You could try a little of each one and share them. I looked at her (and I said in my head lol I don't share.) and smiled. These are so good. They are soft their moist they have no preservative solvent taste like the ones you buy at your local store.. They taste naturally delicious. They also have milkshakes and other things, but I was too fixated on the cupcakes and didn't want to get stressed trying to decide. Now the parking is kinda crazy. I just went in the parking structure and parked. Just take a little walk around the corner. It's worth it. I will be going back. I have to try their shakes next. I totally recommend it.
These cupcakes are absolutely DELICIOUS! We have tried their over the top milkshakes before but never a cupcake, so we got a six pack and sampled each one! They are perfect sweetness, fluffiness, just the right amount of icing. Everyone is so friendly and "sweet" lol. They explained all of the flavors and then gave us a bottle of water! We tried our food there, the inside is gorgeous. Fresh flowers on the tables and a bright atmosphere. There is also outside seating and the location is perfect for exploring.
I found K & J's Elegant Pastries on TikTok and had to try them -- and they did not disappoint! I had the sweet potato pecan pie cupcake, and it was rich, perfectly spiced, and totally unique. My husband went for the strawberry brownie cupcake, and he loved every bite. The service was incredible -- they greeted every person who walked in with genuine warmth, and you could truly tell how much they care about their customers and their craft. We'll definitely be back to try more treats!
If you want a unique dessert experience this place is the place to go whether it's cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, cookies or just an amazing milkshake you can't miss this one. Every time my daughter comes to town it's her favorite place go. Love this place for great sugar high!

And every single person in there was super friendly (how can you not be working in a place as fabulous as K and J's).

K & J's Elegant Pastries NEVER disappoints! Every single time we come to Birmingham, my son and I make sure we stop by and show them some love. The menu is ALWAYS so full of delicious options that, honestly, it's a little overwhelming for us because we want to try EVERYTHING! And let me tell y'all... that pound cake is TO DIE FOR! It is SO good! My son's personal favorite is anything Cookie Monster, so you already know we have to grab something Cookie Monster every time. The quality, the variety, the taste! EVERYTHING is 10/10. If you're in Birmingham and haven't tried K & J's yet, what are you waiting on?! Go show them some love! You will NOT be disappointed! read more

This place is amazing. The owners are phenomenal people. They always have a smile on their face and are happy to help you. The pastries are to die for. If I could, I would come here every day. Not only is it in a great location, with ample parking spots, but it also has whimsical decor that makes it a fun spot to meet up with friends to sit and chat over sweet treats. I like how the selections are offered at different levels, from great to premium. I tried their signature treats, and one of the many caught my eye. I definitely recommend this bakery for the great flavors and moist cakes. read more

Amazing desserts! Truly amazing! Great presentation and the taste was even better. I got the banana pudding my son got the Oreo and my wife got the pecan sweet potato cupcake. UNREAL! Staff was amazing! 10 out of 10 definitely recommend read more
TikTok made me do it!!! Saw this beautiful masterpiece at work yesterday and sent the video to the hubs telling him how much I needed this in my life! This beautiful strawberry crumble sundae had pound cake strawberry ice cream strawberry crumble & fresh strawberries It was AMAZING!!!! She was devoured!!! The staff was great & very helpful they have an awesome menu from ice cream milkshakes cupcakes to custom made cakes And what a lovely establishment!! Sooo cute & pic worthy!! This place is so good! I had seen buzz about it online and I knew I wanted to check it out. The decor is super cute inside. I got the strawberry cupcake, though honestly everything looked good. IT WAS AMAZING. The cake was so light and fluffy, and the icing was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back to try more things! Note: this place is located in Uptown. It's on the city walk side. There is parking located around the corner. I'm not sure if you have to pay but I think you do (I walked there from somewhere else). read more

Really great place, REALLY great cake, but the customer service could use a serious attitude adjustment. I ordered a cake for my mom's 80th birthday. I really wanted something special. Sure we could've gone to Costco, but this birthday was quite a landmark and we wanted something special. I live in Los Angeles, and I could only go by what I find online. I'm blown away by how most of the bakers and caterers I called around that area to make this special day just had no sense of decent customer service, like not returning calls, or saying "Sorry, we can't do that." But luckily this place actually got back to me. I placed the deposit, then when it came time to pay the balance they sent me a text but I was at a place with bad phone reception, so I asked if I could do it in an hour, and their response was, "Well we close at 7." I was on Pacific time so I had to do the math. Well, then why didn't they text me sooner? Don't get me wrong, not all employees were like that. But the bad seeds kinda ruin it for the good employees. When I arrived to AL, we picked the cake up at the Hoover location. This store and pastries would make anyone's eyes light up, milkshakes that would make any jaw drop. Long story short, the cake was perfect!! And it was so delicious!!! We got a basic vanilla cake (to make all our guests happy) and when I put some in a ziplock and brought it back to LA, my boyfriend was licking the bag and he doesn't even like vanilla cake. So GREAT cake, exactly what I wanted, absolutely delicious!! But their customer service could use an attitude adjustment. read more

Could this place be any cuter? I love everything about the decor...I mean it's perfect for a bakery/creamery! But what I really come here for are the cupcakes! I don't need them, but I want them, and who I am to deny my tummy what it wants, right? I don't have a favorite, so don't ask. All of them are delicious, beautiful to look at, and made with love! On top of all that, I've never had bad service here. It's always top notch. If you haven't tried this place, you are missing a treat-literally! read more
Not going to lie, auntie can't do the colossalilkshakes!!! Lol!!! But my niece loves them! I usually get a regular size. Now let me tell you about their banana pudding milkshake.... Banana pudding is one of my favorite desserts and it tastes just like it! And has pieces of cookie in it as well. I'm ready to try the banana pudding cupcakes next! Service is always great, I've never had one complaint about it. The decor is so cute and modern, and pretty! K&Js is one of my nieces favorite places to go, so if I give her the choice to go get sweets, she's picking them every time. I also love that they are black owned and Kristal does custom cakes. I've had a few birthday cakes from there, and they are a hit every single time. I would recommend them I've and I've again, whether it's for a custom birthday cake, wedding cake, custom cupcakes, or you just have a sweet tooth. Oh, and an all around favorite is the pancake and bacon cupcake. And yes, it tastes EXACTLY like you are eating pancakes and bacon! It's delicious! Go soon! read more

This is one of the best pastry shops that I have visited & I'm a traveler nurse. The ambiance is very uplifting, sweet spelling. Fresh pastries, delicious ice cream & a menu that is hard to choose from. The waiting time is very short. I was so impressed to see the owners in uniform helping their workers. We've been back twice in a month & our home is almost an hour away. It's worth the drive. You will NOT be disappointed. read more

Finally got around to visiting K & J's after the move downtown and very happy with what I got! Picked out 4 different cupcakes and really loved all three. From the more simple lemon cupcake all the way up to the strawberry cheesecake deluxe cupcake. Can't wait to catch more unique flavors with such lovely presentations! read more

Loved it! The crew was extremely friendly and definitely wanted to please us! They even helped us decide on what we should try. The location was super clean which is always a plus. And the strawberry cupcake was actually one of the best I have ever had. This was a great visit! read more

Have you ever smelled sweetness that is like an Aphrodisiac? That about sums up K&J's as soon as you walk in the door. Cupcakes, cookies, ice cream and custom cakes as well. To add to the greatness of K&J's is the pleasantry of the Customer Service. I am also happy to put them in the World of Yelp. Keep it up. *** Update*** I just finished the Lemon Cupcake and it was just as fabulous as it looked. What I noticed is the cake is flavorful and moist. The icing although looks like a lot displayed on top it is so creamy and not super sweet. read more
This place is in an odd area under the highway overpass (which seemed like it was under construction forever during my previous visits to the area). The ice cream is blue bell brand, and the cakes are many. I waited in line (the area was crowded) and took the fanciest one, which was a cupcake with what seemed like cheesecake on top. It was indulgent, but I'm still not quite sure that it or the other items were worth the price. Someone left beside me with a very interesting-looking custom cake. To me, the place seemed like a once in a while treat but not one that I would immediately need to go back to. read more
