If you want favors, they have flavors. Absolutely love their raspberry sorbet! I get it topped with marshmallows. It's so good!!! They have every flavor you could ever imagine. Very quick service!
Atmosphere: Edgewood Creamery is a quaint, old-fashioned ice cream shop with a plethora of flavor offerings. Service: Our server was happy to provide us with samples. Food: We tried and were indifferent to a couple of the holiday flavors, and ultimately landed on the Elephant Ears with sprinkles. We liked the soft peanut butter pieces, and the vanilla ice cream was nice and sweet. Overall: Edgewood Creamery is a convenient ice cream option in the Edgewood area. However, we think we were overcharged (or the math didn't really add up) -- our scoop in a cup was $4, and with sprinkles ($1.25, which we thought was also way overpriced), our total should have been just under $6 with tax. However, we were charged $6.28. Not to count our pennies, but we were just a bit shocked that a single scoop with sprinkles was over 6 bucks. The shop was cute, but probably not worth the price we paid.
Always love the ice cream. I have not been disappointed any time I've come. This visit I got a waffle bowl with "C" is for cookie and Strawberry cheesecake ice creams. Very good! The staff is always so friendly and helpful. Plus it's like 2 minutes from home! I definitely recommend anyone, all ages to try them out!
Wonderful ice cream with really helpful and kind employees. A ton of variety and really sweet atmosphere (pun intended)! I would recommend this over The Big Spoon.
Call me crazy but im giving a dessert place only 3 stars. I have been to several ice cream places around Birmingham and Edgewood was a disappointment to me. Both "Bluff Park Ice Cream Shop" and "Big Spoon Creamery" are absolutely jaw droopingly good, and you can really tell they are proud of what they are serving you! I was excited to see that Edgewood had German Chocolate and a Praline flavor. But after digging in, the ice cream was so hard and frozen it was almost inedible. When I finally got the chance to eat it.... It had ice crystals all throughout it. Dont get me wrong, it was still sugary goodness but maybe this was just the wrong day to come. Overall, I might be back due to all the nice restaurants around the area, but I wont seek this place out like I would Bluff Park or Big Spoon

This is one of my favorite ice cream spots in Birmingham, AL. They have such unique flavors and so many options! I love the German Chocolate Cake and butter pecan. There are a numerous variety for all the chocolate lovers as well as peanut butter and fruity flavors. A must go spot!
I stopped in here tonight with some fellow Yelpers after a Yelp event. The inside is really cute. The employees were friendly and helpful. One of the gentlemen asked me if I wanted to try anything. I told him I wanted to try the Praline ice cream and it was phenomenal. My only issue is that I should not be eating ice cream this late, but it was so worth the calories I didn't need. I only got one scoop and it was more than enough for me. The ice cream is thick, which is what I prefer. My first time visit has definitely left a good impression on me. When I'm in Homewood and I have a taste for ice cream, I'll stop by again. I suggest you do the same!
Cute ice cream shop! I loved the decor in here! It's in downtown Homewood near Saws on the same side. Staff were really nice. We were able to try a bunch of flavors. I settled for the mint fudge or something like that. Forgot the name! But it was great! I would definitely get that again. There were a lot of unique flavors as well as the standards. And if you like chocolate, there were lots of different chocolate flavors. Lots of sundaes and shakes. Great service, great ice cream

As soon as you walk in, you can smell freshly baked waffles being made for the waffle cones. They have lots of ice cream flavors. I ended up getting the chocolate chip cookie dough in a waffle cone. The ice cream is delicious and SO creamy. I'm not a big waffle cone person but figured I'd had to try it since they smelled so good. The waffle cones are the best, you have to get your ice cream in one. If you're looking for ice cream, definitely try this place.
11/9/17 THEY'VE BEEN REDEEMED!!!!!!!!!! Came over on a hope and prayer without calling after work and omg it's here. Apparently the owner saw my review and found me some rainbow sherbert. I will forever think he got it back in just for me. Lol. Thanks you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. RAINBOW SHERBERT FOR THE LACTOSE INTOLERANT CHIC. I tried Kese's Daiquiri Ice and it was delicious as well but not even to switch over. Happy Camper. Thanks for giving me a complimentary scoop also just adds to why I think you guys Rock!!!!!!!!!! 2.2.18 I love when they have my sherbert. Delicious as always
The second you walk through the door you are greeted with the incredible smell of fresh baked waffle cones......Wow! Simply smells amazing! Absolutely love how they have designed the restaurant. Using 2 x 4's for the tables, benches, and tables. Really creative and makes them stand out (see pics). Awesome staff that is more than willing to give sample after sample until the people you are with can finally decide what they want (really, that wasn't me). They have a total of 40 flavors, and trust me on this one chocolate lovers, you won't be disappointed with the selection that awaits you. Get your ice cream in a cup or a cone, or change it up and get it as a shake. Topping to complete your order or maybe a cookie to go with it. These guys have a really good thing going here. Give them a shot.....or maybe 40, I mean it's really only fair to try all the flavors right?

First time trying this place but I must say I really appreciated the service more than anything. The line was almost out the door but the service was still very pleasant. I honestly cannot remember the flavor I had but it was good but not rememberable. I would definitely come back to try other flavors. read more
This ice cream was SOOOO GOOD. I got a waffle cone with malt fudge, and caramel brownie. Omg. It was amazing. The service was good and there was a great amount of seating inside! The also have public restrooms which is a plus! read more

I'm have no complaints, not a one! It's rare that I eat ice cream, but when I do, I want good creamy rich ice cream. Now that I live in Huntsville, I miss all the places I loved so much in Birmingham-- this is one of them. The ice cream is always so rich and creamy. Not to mention the plethora of varieties for chocolate and peanut butter lovers. I got the captain's chocolate--such a great flavor mix of chocolate!!! Do you love waffle cones? I love waffle cones! Didn't have an appetite so big so I chose the waffle cup! To make things even better, I topped the whole thing off with sour gummy worms-- my childhood fav! This was perfect for my sweet spot! The servers are really patient and open to your 1,000 questions! I give a two thumbs up! read more

We love Edgewood Creamery! The ice cream shop is conveniently located in the Edgewood district of Homewood and is a local favorite with the kiddos! It is definitely packed in the afternoons with middle schoolers who've walked over, so beware! There are tons of ice cream flavor options and all of them are delicious! A family favorite of ours is the "Cookie Monster", which is a bright blue tinted ice cream with cookie dough in it. My personal favorite is the key lime pie, although it seems to be a seasonal selection. They also offer cakes other sweet treats, although I haven't tried any of those. We love this place and will return again and again! read more

My favorite is getting a scoop of vanilla in a fresh cup of french pressed coffee. With 40 flavors to choose from and multiple specialties, I think this shop will satisfy your ice cream desires. The staff is really great, one of the many reasons to be a regular here. read more
I usually don't update reviews unless I come back to an establishment and either have a much more improved experience or a very negative one. This unfortunately is the latter. I came here around 7pm one night recently. The place was cool, comfortable, the vibe was just as pleasant as the first time I came here. Unfortunately the ice cream I chose, was halfway melted. Complete bummer! I was in the mood for some chocolate, and the Extreme Chocolate caught my eye. I chose it, and as soon as I saw the man scooping it, I wanted to change my mind. I'm not sure if it was because I came in the evening, where it started melting or if it's always supposed to be so soft like this? Considering I came in three hours before the time they actually closed, I would have thought the ice cream should have been more stable in texture. I feel like if I were the worker, I would have thrown out that batch and not even had it as an option for customers, that's how bad the texture was. The flavor was good, that's what is getting two stars. Based on this visit, I would not come back nor recommend any of my friends here. I don't think this was a good representation of what they have to offer, but also do not think it should have still been served. read more

You are immediately greeted upon entering to the incredibly inviting fresh cinnamon waffle cones being made. If you didn't want ice cream before walking in -- you do now! This is, hands down, the thickest, creamiest ice cream I have ever had. I'm not sure it would even actually melt because it is sooooo thick. One scoop actually IS enough! But then you'll miss out on trying other flavors! They have the classics and then they have the fun ones. As a all-things-chocolate lover, I could have squealed with delight at the various chocolate offerings. I went on a slow Wednesday mid-afternoon. I can imagine that the place gets quite cramped if it is busy. But you're in one of the cutest areas in Bham...might as well stroll around to take in the scenery, window shop, and burn some of those calories. read more

A cute little ice cream shop with a very vast selection of flavors. I love the wood finish in the seating area. The wooden table is full of graffiti which adds character, but over time now, it's starting to look a little raggedy because it is so heavily graffiti'd. I find service here is a lot better than the one in Mountain Brook. Both creameries rotate flavors between the two so there may be time where you won't be able to get the flavor you want. Their ice cream is not made in house, rather, they're ordered from a supplier which is kinda disappointing. For the health conscious, they offer Only 8, which is a low calorie frozen yogurt, a great alternative. However, Only 8 is limited to two flavors at this location. Overall a decent ice cream parlor. read more

Great customer service from the the fellows at the counter! The sweet smell that hits you at the door from the fresh homemade waffle cones.. it's pretty clean every time we come. I went for a cup of daiquiri ice. Sorbet is a favorite. My love for her favorite, Rainbow Sherbet.. last time she was not fortunate, because they did not have a her flavor and specifically brought her to homewood for Edgewood Creamery. Hats off to the owner for making it right!! read more
