We used to have Bruster's in SE Huntsville years ago when we were first married and my favorite was the Almond Chocolate Coconut (ACC). I thought I remembered them sometimes having that flavor in non-dairy, but can't be sure. I took our youngest child here tonight for a treat and he got a couple different cookies and cream (regular and mint) and I got the ACC. Although my tastes have changed a lot over the last 15+ years, it was still just as good. I would prefer to eat nondairy but it was so good that I would go again. Also, the young woman who helped us (looked no older than early 20s but possibly late teens) was so kind and helpful. We sat in our car and ate it since it was a little chilly but also got my spouse coffee cookies and cream to go since they weren't with us. read more

Just went by and got a couple of scoops of cookie dough ice cream. The ice cream is always phenomenal! Service is also very good. Friendly sweet staff. They're very patient and don't mind if you try a flavor or two! read more

So, I have a friend that raves about Bruster's but specifically about the the Key Lime Pie ice cream. I had to try it out for myself. This location has a drive-thru but decided to do a walk up. I ordered the small waffle bowl with two scoops of key lime pie and yes I personally think this tangy key lime pie ice cream lived up to my friend's very high rankings. It was smooth tasting with plenty of graham cracker pieces swirled throughout. The drive-thru had a steady flow of cars but I was the only one in line at the walk up window and was served immediately by a helpful young man. There are many flavor options and I will definitely go back for an occasional treat. read more

Absolute YUM!! We always loved Bruster's in Florence, AL. Just recently discovered there was in off of Valleydale Road! As always, there were people lined up for some of the best ice cream around. Serve was fast and efficient, with many flavor choices! We grabbed a Birthday Cake and a Chocolate Turtle in a waffle cone. Very large scoops that came out quickly after we ordered! Birthday cake with blue frosting swirled in, was on point, in a Creamy vanilla base! Chocolate Turtle was a chocolate base with Carmel swirled throughout and large pecan pieces given you a nice salty crunch! Great as always!! We Will be back! read more

The icecream itself is decent. Altought, way too sweet. I could not eat more than a few bites. The service is so bad that makes the whole thing a nightmare and a waste of tme. They messed up my order three times in a row. Three! At some point a manager had to interveen to sort the mess. Patetic read more

Delicious! Quite a wide variety of ice cream. A handful of sherbet and sorbet flavors. I loved the dragon fruit. Can be pricey for a family of four. Single scoop waffle cones and regular sundae's were around $5.50, but prices went up from there. They did have child cups and cake cones to save a little. read more

Bruster's is so good I would eat it all day if I was allowed to. You get served almost IMMEDIATELY.Brusters has amazing service and Ice cream. They take Ice cream seriously.Brusters has a mailbox decorated as a COW.They even have a playground for kids to play on while they eat. read more

The ice cream was great, as usual. The young guy manning the window was a little clueless, and didn't listen well to the order. Needed to repeat three times for him to write it down. The ice cream came up as ordered. A little expensive for what you get, but for occasional indulgence this is a pretty good spot. read more

I've since returned to Brusters with my 3 year old daughter and tried other flavors which were great. She loves the dinosaur ice cream and the slide they have at the Valleydale location read more

I just bought two milkshakes, one strawberry, one chocolate. I watched them make the milkshakes, then I watched them let them sit on the counter for 10 minutes. They came to me melted. I drank it, because it was $7, but it was disgusting. I won't be back. Ice cream from the grocery store is better than this trash that I can barely believe I ate. read more

Hands down the best ice cream in Birmingham. Great service. Awesome gliding tables, picnic tables and a children's play area.

The best ice cream in town in my opinion. It's very pricey but I think it's worth it. If you go to the drive-through you get served speedily. They are generous with the chocolate syrup. I am in the rewards program, just give them my phone number and it really pays off. They are polite and the owner is very nice. read more

Brusters is so good. ice cream is great. great service from Madi. very helpful

Bruster's has the best ice cream in Birmingham! Hollyn gave us outstanding service, we will definitely be back! I especially love the lime sherbet flavor read more

I got spoiled. The family lived in Atlanta and had a Bruster's close by. To me the ice cream has a Much creamier texture than the other chains. Flavors are great and best to me is the chocolate raspberry truffle. Staff is always a bunch of young kids but like chick fila, all the locations I have been to seem to have kids that are very attentive and seem excited to work there. read more

Well, I won't be going to Bruster's again. We ordered single scoops in cups, and what we got was the equivalent of one scoop divided into three portions and charged $12! These weren't even kid's portions. They were baby portions. Extremely disappointed. Had been there in the past and it wasn't like that before. Pathetic. read more

The death by chocolate was fantastic. I thought the butter brickle was good, but I wouldn't order it again. I think their waffle cones are only okay. Get the death by chocolate in a regular cone! read more

I was at Bruster's, minding my business and ordering my small cup of Birthday Cake ice cream, when a short teenage boy (who I later figured out is named Luke Marvin) proceeded to ridicule how I was speaking and how I looked. He proceeded to tell me how I "looked and sounded like I was five" and when my friends told him I was 18, he proceeded to yell loudly to all the customers and workers about how he couldn't believe I was 18. This didn't matter to me, until my friends asked why he was just hanging around. He proceeded to tell us he worked at Bruster's and that the workers that were on the clock were probably going to "spit in our ice cream" because we were there 15 mins before closing. He then proceeded to walk into the ice cream shop, get behind the counter, and take my friends orders, despite not being on the clock or scheduled to work in the first place. He was an asshole and I hope you know it's Luke Marvin's fault that I won't be coming back to Bruster's for a hot minute! read more

We love the ice cream. We have never had anything else besides the ice cream. Until yesterday, on a whim because I live for the last minute.... I decided to get my son an Oreo ice cream cake for his birthday get together. A few friends over at the house. Very chill... pizza & ice cream cake. Maybe we should just go to Walmart for one of those Carvel ice cream cakes in the freezer? I'm sure those are good, but I got picky about it & thought no... let's call Bruster's & see if they can make us one for tomorrow. They said yes!! They even called the next morning & said your cake is ready. It's ready? It wasn't supposed to be ready until 5:00. Yay!!! We didn't need it until 6:00. Early!! Awesome. So fast forward to 7:00.... had pizza... played games... time for cake. Y'all! Literally the best birthday cake I have had in such a long time. So so good!!!! Loved it. Everyone loved it. I want one for my birthday!!! Yum!! Thank you Bruster's. read more

6 freshman high schoolers working all the time. I know it's just an ice cream place but the service is horrible. Waited 15 min for an ice cream cone while watching a guy working his give his buddy a wet willy. Boooooo read more

Yummy ice cream! Definitely prefer this place to the frequent DQs around the area. Our server was so nice to answer our questions! Quick service too! You don't need more than a scoop in my opinion. Large ice cream cones! Will be back soon! read more

We went to Brusters last weekend and loved it as usual. Colin was our server and was so nice and friendly. We sometimes bring our dog to get a pup cup! read more

Ice cream is sooo valid and creamy and cheesy. Serj Mee be whipping up the crunchiness waffle cones in the 205.

After my review, I was contacted by the owner of this particular Bruster's. He sent me a very nice message apologizing for my unsatisfactory experiences. See, this is one of the great things about Yelp. Not only can we as customers go online and find awesome places to play..but the people in charge of these awesome establishments can also see what people are saying. They can read the good and the bad, and go from there. And all you people that keep saying these places don't give a crap what we say can bite me, and bite me hard. Because they do care. PS. I've been back and gotten the strawberry sorbet. It was nice and strawberryee. Of course we shall return. read more

My daughter tried the flavor of the month, sea salt caramel. She really enjoyed it and gave it 5 stars. Brusters is always generous with their scoops and makes the best ice cream in town. I would like to suggest chocolate sea salt caramel! My husband also enjoyed several taste tests and enjoyed every flavor. It is expensive for a small waffle cone, $4.87 but the taste is great! read more

Bruster's Real Ice Cream - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Birmingham, Alabama

best waffle cones, great variety of flavors, & Madi is the best server!

Very disappointed in their false advertising. I came on a Sunday but that had no free dogs.

Lazy teenagers with attitudes for employees and small servings of soft ice cream that should be hard. We won't be back.

Love this place! Staff is attentive and very helpful when choosing a flavor! Cant wait to come back!

Bruster's ice cream will always be my fav! We drive from alabaster to have ice cream here. The smell of those fresh baked waffle cones wafting from the windows is heavenly! On a busy summer evening you can expect to wait in line. The staff is usually very young but they handle the crowds well. Old fashioned ice cream at its best here :-) read more

I've been going to this place for years to satisfy my ice cream cravings. The ice cream is made on site and has never disappointed me. I've only been disappointed when they're out of the ice cream I wanted! They have a punch card for rewards, offer a military discount, and they even have great fall desserts! You must try the chocolate lover's trash ice cream in a waffle cone. Extremely good and the cones always taste fresh! read more

Worst experience ever after many poor experiences. I just wanted a vanilla ice cream cone. Went here with my son to get some ice cream after he had a rough day. I watched as my ice cream cone melted while they prepared his banana pudding ice cream. Then they allowed that to sit for several minutes before they allowed me to pay. By the time I was able to pay and receive the ice cream it was soup. Not only that but AFTER it was handed to my son (who is very allergic to peanut butter) the worker asked if "peanut butter banana would be okay because we are out of banana pudding." This is a serious health hazard and terrible customer service. I also did not receive the water I paid for nor did I wish to return to ask for it. Will never be coming back. read more

Huge Sundays! My goodness! I particularly liked the drive through ice cream purchase, well done!

We often come here after soccer games or practice. I don't know if they have changed their recipe or what it is, but ever since the new owners took over (2011?) their ice cream has been served half melted, more like soft serve ice cream than real ice cream. It is true for all their flavors. It tastes fine, but you have to wolf it down before it melts all over your hands - not ideal for the drive through! (And how do they expect you to pay after they have handed you two half-melted ice cream cones, I wonder?) I haven't checked yet if it is just this Brusters or all of them, but it just doesn't seem like ice cream anymore to me. read more

This is the best ice cream spot in all of Birmingham. The service separates this location from all others. The employees continuously go the extra mile to care for their customers (and their dogs). A wonderful experience every time. I love how they prepare each order to its fullest potential by giving extra toppings, whipped cream, etc. Overall an awesome experience. read more

Great Service ! Average ice creme, a little pricey but brings nostalgia of the old ice creme stand.
