Was given some of their mini cupcakes and after clarifying they were nut free, I ate two. Person who gave them to me said they had Mexican chocolate, regular chocolate and espresso chocolate. I ate two because of what I was told but less than an hour later I feel sluggish, nauseous and my stomach is killing me. Because they're closed I can't check the ingredients with the bakery themselves and website gives no answer. I have a very serious peanut and tree nut allergy that present as gastrointestinal problems so this is a little upsetting for me. The baby bites were HORRIBLE.. bad texture, consistency, and taste. They were mushy and gooey, and somehow like greasy on the bottom. They had majority baby bites out on display- no labels for flavors or anything. About 5 cupcakes out. The service was real poor. Not friendly at all. 3 people behind the counter and two just sat and stared at us, we smiled and said hello and they just stared.. We got 6 different ones to try and none were good. The two young girls working at the time of my visit were so helpful and sweet! I came in after my Saturday morning workout to grab a few sweet treats for a friend's birthday. Unfortunately, they didn't have key lime but red velvet was available. Once I got passed the Starbuck's cult members. The parking over here is super , duper tight and you really just have to fight to find a parking spot. You've been warned. I was able to grab a dozen of baby bites and get checked out quickly. The hardest part was parking but no fault of Pastry Art. It also took me some extra time to decide on what other baby bite flavors to get to complete my order. I haven't been to Pastry Art in years!!! I tried to stand in the long line at the Homewood location but I decided to head to Inverness. There were customers ahead of me with large orders but things moved pretty quickly. Don't expect a lot of interaction with staff, just place your order and smile. I like these little babies and went with an assortment of 6. I treated myself to key lime, strawberry margarita, Carmel, neapolitan, red velvet, and strawberry. Glad I stopped by!!! read more

I had seen this place when I was looking to surprise one of my coworkers for her birthday. The shop is super cute, and their specialty is the baby bite. I ended up going in a different direction, but to my surprise my best friend got me a box of baby bites just a week later! Great minds truly do think alike! I got an assortment of their pink strawberry, red velvet, turtle, and another flavor I didn't quite figure out. Possibly an espresso? They were all so delicious! I can't even pick a favorite! They are super sweet on the outside like a chocolate truffle, and a cake on the inside. They are so tasty, and the fact that they are small means you can eat or I mean try (LOL) several at a time! This is my favorite place to get a sweet treat or something special for friends. The people working in the Trussville location are always nice and it's easy to get in and out if you are in a rush. The Italian crème is my husbands favorite, so I try to stop by on Wednesday's when I can! Check their website for the menu and what special flavors they have on certain days. Came in on a whim. Bought a box of day old small cakes. It was a large sampler box. If the day old items taste this good, I can't wait to stop on my way back and buy the fresh ones. Enjoyed the red velvet, vanilla, and chocolate. I didn't care for the Mexican chocolate. I felt the cinnamon to be too overwhelming. I wanted to like this. I really, realllly wanted to love this. All I ever heard was how good Pastry Art's baby bites were. Everyone would rant and rave about how these oversized petit fours were a thing of legend, that would satisfy your sweet tooth and leave you wanting more. Well, I happened to be in the area and had a hankering for something sweet so I decided to stop in and finally give Pastry Art a try. It's a cute little store nestled in the corner of the Winn-Dixie Inverness shopping center. Parking is a bit of a nightmare but the shop is really rather cute. I love bakeries. They're just happy little places full of sweet smells and smiling faces. A little piece of heaven, right? Not when it comes to Pastry Art. When I walked in I wasn't greeted let alone even acknowledged. I flashed a smile and moved through the store looking to see what they had to offer until someone finally helped me. I ordered French Vanilla, Strawberry Margarita and Pink Strawberry. I purchased my bites and proceeded to the outside seating area to see what these oversized treats were all about. They literally looked like oversized petit fours with a thin layer of icing and different swirly design on each. I eagerly popped the French Vanilla in my mouth and was a surprised by the gritiness of the dessert which was a continued trend to the other two flavors I tried. Everyone in town raves about the baby bites. I do not agree. I was hosting a bridal shower and decided to have baby bites instead of pettifours. I called a few days ahead. A sweet young lady assisted and said no order was needed, I could just stop by the morning of the event. I entered the store and was pleased with the small boutique like environment. The smells were divine. I walked to the cases admiring the beautiful works of art. A grumpy appearing middle aged lady asked if she could help me. I relayed my order and every time I added something she huffed and said anything else? She never smiled and appeared very unhappy, almost to the point of being rude. The young lady at the register was very friendly, polite and helpful. I was excited to taste one. I was surprised to say the least. They were dry and did not taste fresh at all.
