Great little bakery. Get there early or you won't have many things to choose from. Got a miso blondie and almond croissant. Both delicious. No prices posted by pastry labels so I guess you just have to pay whatever it is for the day.

I don't know how I managed to never review this place. It's amazing. They've been open for quite some time and by now everyone knows that these are widely considered to be the best pastries in town. I have personally witnessed long lines of people waiting early in the morning to get their hands on some of their goods. I myself tend to stop by after the crowd dies down, and you can too. It'll be fine. Everything I've had has been great, but if I had to choose one thing it would be the olive oil cake. It doesn't look as flashy as some of the other options, but it's so good that I occasionally find myself distracted by the mere thought of it while trying to go about my day. It really is that good. Long stort short, if you want some competition grade croissants or the best olive oil cake you've ever had in your life, this is the spot. Get down there and check it out if you haven't already.

May have been the best pastries we have ever had!! The worker recommended the Gochujang twist and it was so unique!!!! Amazing flavor! We had the coffee roll which was yummy but the real star of the show was the berry oat bar. The jam was insane and I wish I could eat one of those everyday!

Last Call Baking is my favorite bakery in Birmingham, and ever (?) Their pastries are always made fresh everyday and you can tell. Each bite tastes heavenly. I love their croissants (almond and chocolate) and the scroll! If you go on the weekday you won't have to wake up super early but it's worth the early wake up call. Afterwards go next door to June for a cup of coffee and there's your perfect morning.

This place is ridiculously good. I am a connoisseur of pastries, and this may be my new number one. I had the Kouign Amann and pain au chocolat. Both were best in class for these types of pastries. My friend tried the coffee bun and it was terrific as well. I cannot wait to go back to this place and try absolutely every sweet thing that they make. So flaky so sugary chewy dillish. Make it a stop on your Birmingham tour!

Food first, thoughts after... I wish with all my heart that pastries would be healthy for us or at least not be unhealthy for us. This is one of the top bakeries in Birmingham. With vast varieties that excel far beyond the usual pastry items, there will forever be a place in my heart for this bakery. The olive oil cake is out of this world. Don't believe me? Just drive up one day and see the daily line that forms outside. Worth the wait!

So I previously went here last year (2025) and thought 5 out of 6 items were home runs. Shortly after they announced the sale of the business to June coffee and I immediately said "there goes that bakery". I decided to give them a chance and not assume they would fall off just because the owners changed. So here it is Feb 1st 2026 and I drive from Atlanta to give them said deserved chance. Well they didn't prove me wrong. The breakfast ? Cookie was dry and tasted burnt, the oat bar was super bland and all you got was the tartness from the jam. But some how zero sweetness from the crumble. I don't like overly sweet but how you can make a crumble which is made from sugar not sweet and off putting it's magical. Also go the raspberry danish situation which was also missing anything besides the tartness of the jam. The lemon tart dough was extremely undercooked and boardline raw. So again another miss. Everything missed the mark this time. Complete 180 from last year. I wanted so deeply to be proven wrong and to enjoy amazing treats but sadly that didn't happen.

Last Call Baking has a fantastic variety of sweet and savory baked goods, with so much creativity! We enjoyed the potato and Brie pastry, gochuchang twist, kouign amann, and ham and cheese croissant. Service was friendly and quick! Everything was delicious - make sure to come early (there is a line starting at 7:30 am)

The best bakery in townnnn! If you can swing a weekday morning visit, you'll have the best selection before everything sells out by around 10 a.m. Weekends are definitely more hectic. We tried the ham and cheese croissant, cinnamon roll, olive oil cake, and cheese biscuit after getting recommendations for the croissant and cinnamon roll. Cheese danish was also recommended! If I had to pick a favorite, the olive oil cake was hands-down the winner. So good!

I visited Last Call for a breakfast treat after hearing so much about it! The location is in the downtown area and parking can be a little of a challenge. The bakery is very quaint and cute with good service. So many options to choose from which made it hard to select. I decided on the egg danish which was good but would have been better heated. They had some amazing looking items and you can see them making everything fresh. Look forward to visiting again soon!

0/5 for this awful place. Drove 4 hours to try this bakery, got there at 11:35 AM, baked items were still on rack, employees in store. They would not let me in, saying they are "closed". Their google hours and website hours shows the bakery closed at 12 pm. What a shame. Lots of other places to try, I'd recommend any place but this one unless you want inconsistency. ** To respond to the owners comment, there was a sign propped up on the ground saying "CLOSED" blocking the door, i did stand in front of the door and an employee did say they were closed. So yes, nobody was allowed in to have a conversation with the employees about other options.

This is a spot that deserves every drop of praise that it gets - Last Call Baking. Nominated for a James Beard award, the genius chef behind this local Bham bakery consistently whips out unique pastries that combines different cultures and cuisines. And their rotation of classic pastries is always solid. I love their breakfast sandos and their danishes. On this beautiful morning we had the gochuchang twists - it was so good we went back to buy more. Make sure to follow their instagram. They highlight their pastries of the week and special deals on their stories and posts. Only downside? They sell out quick - so make sure to set your alarm if you want a piece of the goodness.

Great flakey pastries, appropriately rated. I love how they outsource to June to help offset the long lines and accompany a nice seasonal latte. I love the location and this has become a great asset to the northern Birmingham community.

There wasn't line when we got there but the crowd usually follows us for some reason so by the time we left there was standing room only and a line out the door. The bakery items were very fresh and tasty. I loved the Swedish gingerbread cookies - light and crisp. The lemon bar was delicious. They also have sandwiches that liked really good. Coffee - I got a vanilla latte extra sweet (no lavender) and my daughter said it was one of the best. I thought it was pretty good. I would go again when back in Birmingham!

Nestled in the Mountain Brook area, it's a little hard to see but is right next to Chez Lulu, which I think is a sister restaurant. Parking is a little tricky but manageable. I got there fairly late so the selection was a bit picked over, but I still got a good array of treats to bring home. Service was a touch slow but friendly. They were fairly busy. There's no room to eat inside or outside that I could discern; it's exclusively a take and go type of place. I got two pecan sandies to share with my parents, who were along for the ride, and then a cardamom bun and a peanut butter cookie for later. Sadly, I don't feel like any of the pastries really wowed. The pecan sandies were a little too dry (even as sandies go) and the pecans didn't taste toasted nor were they especially plentiful. The peanut butter cookie was the best thing, though it too was a little on the dry side - nice PB flavor though. I straight up didn't like the cardamom bun. The cardamom flavor was completely overwhelming, to the point it wasn't sweet at all, and instead tasted almost medicinal. The texture was nice but I couldn't finish it. Perhaps I arrived too late to order their specialties. I know they specialize in European goodies so if I return I'll make sure to try a croissant or something similar.

My two sons and I drove over to Sunshine's bakery this morning and I must admit-- it was worth the drive. We started out with three of the mango pastries and two ham and cheese croissants. The mango pastries were very good. The inside was kind of like a pudding/mousse and it did have real mangoes as well. My husband wasn't able to come with us so I picked up two more fruit pastries, another mango and the pear one. Even with it being a drive, I can see myself coming out here again. Oh, and the employees inside were very, very nice and hospitable. One of the employees, I believe may be the owner, came outside when we were eating and asked us how we liked everything and even asked for any feedback on how to make things better.
