The Three Eared Rabbit in this location is good. Parking can be a bit tricky as it is limited, but the food and service makes up for it. The original location is in Leeds and has more options, and I personally like their sandwiches and homemade chips better there than the Trussville location. The ambiance is simple. It reminds you of an old cafe with tables and a countertop. I recommend the Reuben but on white bread. It's just a personal preference of mine since I do not like rye bread. read more

We were late for our final destination so we needed a place where we could get a fast meal. We both decided on a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant served with a bag of chips. The chicken salad was yummy with shredded chicken breast, mayo, grapes, and pecans. My only complaint was that the croissant was cold. On the menu it says a fresh baked croissant. I don't come here enough! I've eaten here now twice. I had a couple birthday cakes made. One cake was Gluten free and they did an incredible job! I ate wayyy too much! This time we went with my mother in law's Birthday and they had gluten free cake pops for her and they were gooey delicious! Their ice cream Sundays are great toooo! My inaugural visit here was so cool! I'm embarrassed that it's taken me this long to try TTER. No problem, I'm now a fan for life! My mom and I came here on a Friday late afternoon. The service was beyond friendly which created a warm , welcoming environment. I loved this! We ordered our to go dessert first . Too funny but we did. I had the pecan pie square and my mom had a slice of chocolate cake with mocha icing. Both were very tasty and all of their desserts are made in house. Lots of variety!!! They also have ice cream as well as milkshakes. I had an amazing Reuben! My mom had the Italian. The chef did a fantastic job! The sandwiches came with a pickle spear and a bag of chips. Grabbed a quick lunch while in Trussville at the Three Earred Rabbit. It's located near the entertainment district, so it offers walking distance if you're out for a fun shopping/eating day. I opted for a French dip sandwich, which was good. There wasn't a ton of meat on the sandwich and that would probably be my only complaint about the food. They offer some half & half combos and a soup of the day. All staff were friendly and helpful. I gave 4 stars though because the restaurant seems a little unfinished when it comes to decor. It's almost like you're eating lunch in a storage room - mismatched furniture, stacks of chairs, and not a ton of decor on the walls. Cute atmosphere and almost all the time you get friendly service. Sit at the counter if you want guaranteed friendliness ;). The space is open and nicely decorated. The food is made-to-order and fresh. Never had an issue with anything being wrong or bad- it's a great lunch spot. We have had Reubens, Pimento Cheese, and the Four Corners along with lots of sweets. The baked goods are hit or miss depending on the baker but they hit the spot more than not, especially since they are made in house and not shipped in. Definitely worth a stop. Parking is tricky- it's in the back. But if you aren't from Trussville you probably wouldn't notice because it's like most downtowns with storefronts and rear parking. read more

Wife and I split a French Dip sandwich, had a side each, and one fountain drink. Total bill with taxes was almost $29.00. The sandwich was good but NOT worth this kind of price. Third times a charm! We have been trying to stop by this place for awhile and have had bad luck, getting there just after they had closed both previous times. Not today, called ahead and we had a couple hours before they were closing. The name itself makes it stand out in the small town, but once you enter your transformed into a 50's diner (bar area with red swivel stools - right in front of where they cook). We sat in the large side room that only had one other couple seated when we arrived. The wait staff is predominantly young and possibly on the new side. They weren't necessarily on top of everything, but if you asked, they were all about making sure you got anything you needed. Almost added to the charm of the experience. Menu isn't expansive, but has plenty of selections for anyone and any taste in your party. I went with the Turkey Club and changed from toasted whole wheat to ciabatta .... excellent swap by the way. My GF has the chicken salad, and although I'm not really a fan of chicken salad it wasn't too bad. She said some of the best she has ever had. For my side I had the pasta salad. I would probably give it a strong 3 star rating. When we were done we moved to the bar stool area and had a 99 cent ice cream cone (special of the day). While we were there we talked with the cook, who literally moved the overall ranking from a 4 star to a 5 star. Made customers feel at home and had a genuine good time doing what he does. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. If you are in Trussville, you really need to add this place to the must see/eat/do places. My son and I stopped In for a dessert in the afternoon. We had a sundae and a milkshake. They both tasted fine. Nothing over the top but it was good so no complaints. The service here is majorly lacking. I was given my sundae way before my son received his milkshake. I had to stop eating it so I didn't finish before he was given his dessert. One of the ladies working was obviously training and didn't know how to make the items and use the machines or know the ratios of ingredients to use. Not her fault at all and I do not blame our experience on her. However, the lady that did know how to make the items left her alone to wait on another customer that came in way after us to buy a frozen casserole. I don't understand why you would stop serving someone in order to wait on someone else that just walked in???? Take two mins to finish making the milkshake so your only two dine in customers can enjoy their desserts together and tell the customer at the front that you will be there in 2 mins. It's no longer the place I once loved. On our recent few visits the food seems to just be slapped together with no care. Their old fashioned hot dog for example looked like a toddler put it together. The toppings were half to the side and not consistent from one to the other. One of them was drenched in mustard and that's all you could taste. It had no ketchup. The other one was drenched in ketchup and that's all you could taste. My friend ordered the tuna fish sandwich. It was pitiful. No lettuce, no tomato. Just a very small tuna sandwich for $10. It looked like they just stopped at the store for a loaf of bread. Other than that, I have no complaints except for the price. More than $13 for a small sandwich and a milkshake is definitely overpriced. They also spoke highly of the food before I even tried it and sounded a bit snoody in the process. This restaurant has always been a favorite of mine. But I was disappointed to see that the only staff member wearing a mask was the person who took our drink order and checked us out. I could see the cook was wearing gloves but no mask. The hostess and our waitperson neither wore masks. I was under the impression that Trussville followed Birmingham's COVID-19 safety ordinances but maybe I'm wrong. Located in historic downtown Trussville, a scene most people consider a simple traffic light, is a concept of the past... A soda fountain, but with modern convenience. It's really something you just have to experience for yourself. I have lived in Trussville for years before finally trying it. I can definitely recommend the hot fudge sundae. My wife had the Ruben sandwich, she was quite pleased. The prices are a little higher than one would expect to pay. Sodas are $2.50, the 3 cheese grilled cheese is like $7.50. Despite these prices, the experience is still priceless. A great place for a quiet lunch, far away from the hustle of Birmingham. The parking is mostly in an alley area, and takes a little navigational skill to get to but the signs are clearly marked. The current health rating is a 95, and pretty spotless. The style of the Three Eared Rabbit is a little hard to explain, it's really something you have to try for yourself.
