Okay, I was debating on whether to give this 3 or 4 stars. If I could give 3.5 stars, I probably would. 3 stars seems like too low so I settled on 4 stars. Let's get into why I had this debate with myself. The service I experienced was great. I was quickly assisted and the gentleman was friendly. I could easily see what was being offered and the price. Speaking of price, I feel these pies are kind of high for the amount of pie you're getting. I got a 4-inch Sweet Potato Pie. It was $4.40. I don't think this pie would even equal one slice of a regular size pie. The price for a 9-inch pie is $35.20. It just seems high. I normally make my own pies and I don't buy them so maybe I'm not well-versed in pie prices. Now, the Sweet Potato Pie was good, but I don't know if I'd try another one of these mini pies.

Hot pies and ice cream...Name a better duo! Deciding which pie I to was hard! But then picking the ice cream to top the pie was harder. Luckily Edolyns let's you sample all the ice creams however many times you like. I chose the lemon blueberry chess pie with vanilla blue bell ice cream. It was perfection! You won't be able to put your spoon down after the first bite.

What a charming bakery/coffee shop in a super cute almost European nook in town. If you're…read morevisiting, I definitely recommend taking a drive to this area. Progressive area - Seems to be... There wasn't line when we got there but the crowd usually follows us for some reason so by the time we left there was standing room only and a line out the door. The bakery items were very fresh and tasty. I loved the Swedish gingerbread cookies - light and crisp. The lemon bar was delicious. They also have sandwiches that liked really good. Coffee - I got a vanilla latte extra sweet (no lavender) and my daughter said it was one of the best. I thought it was pretty good. I would go again when back in Birmingham!

The young girl making the coffee was loudly talking about someone who messed up their coffee order this morning and how frustrated she was. The only other employee was occupied with what seemed a large order of bread etc. When she finished what she was doing she looked at the now five customers, claustrophobically waiting, and said I'll be right back and disappeared. Leaving the one guy serving the one customer. It was 11:30 am on a rainy day. Figured I could do without a cream cheese croissant and coffee and left. Had already waited 5 as the only other person in there and did not want to wait another undetermined amount of time. I know one of the bakers. It's a shame the front has been so bad these last two times.

Every dish is beautifully presented, and the flavors really stand out, making it a perfect choice for a Sunday brunch. The restaurant is very clean, and the servers are attentive and friendly. There is a bit of a rush, but it's really up to you how much you want to eat during the time allotted. The oysters are my favorite--you can have up to 12. The shrimp and grits are outstanding, and the presentation is spot on. Make sure to make a reservation, as it can be difficult to get a table otherwise. There's parking across the street if you arrive early, but by noon the place gets very busy.

There is a great patio for whenever the weather is nice, too. The ambiance was very cozy yet sophisticated. Our waitress was lovely as well. I got one of their gin speciality cocktails which was delish! So light and well balanced. We started with the fried green tomato app, which was 10/10. It had the perfect amount of crunch, and we loved the crab on top and the tang of the remoulade sauce. I got an arugula salad, and my husband got the scallop special of the evening. Both were very good dishes. We finished with the cookie skillet for dessert which was very rich but delicious. It helped having the vanilla ice cream on top to cut the chocolatey-ness. We devoured it all. Cannot wait to return! Hopefully for a happy hour, which is 4-6.
