I had Super Chix for lunch on Thursday, and it didn't disappoint. I ordered the Bacavo Chicken Sandwich, and it was excellent. The sandwich features a large fried chicken breast topped with bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and buttermilk ranch dressing. All of the ingredients complemented each other nicely, making for a very tasty and satisfying meal. David L. and I shared a regular order of fries. The fries were thin, crispy, and perfect for dipping. One of my favorite things at Super Chix is trying the different sauces with the fries. There are about eight unique sauces available at the self-service condiment station. While they would be amazing on the chicken tenders, they also work really well with the fries. For dessert, I ordered the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Cold Fusion--yum! I've always experienced excellent service here. The staff is friendly and attentive, and orders are prepared in a timely manner. They have outdoor seating which was perfect for sunny fall day. The staff were so kind and helpful as I looked over the menu. Super Chix, never disappoints. Every time I have eaten there, I have enjoyed the food. It is set up almost like a quick service restaurant, but with a full service feel. They have multiple employees delivering food to your table as well as making sure that the site stays exceptionally clean. The only thing I would caution people is when I got my tenders tossed in Nashville hot there was a lot of sauce that kind of took away from the chicken that is always very good. So my recommendation would be to order it on the side and put as much as you would like on each tender. The only other issue that people could have is that Sunday after church it was very busy and the restaurant is very loud, but please do not let that be the reason that you do not try super chicks in Hoover. read more

My oh my, the best customer service EVER!! Let me begin with the fact that I've never been here before. I met a group of ladies there for lunch with little expectations for service or food. Immediately upon entering, I was greeted with a sense of excitement. Looking around, I didn't see any uncleaned tables, surprising! I followed the path of placing my order by looking at the large menu on the wall, simple, right? Yes. Chicken, chicken chicken. I'm not a meat eater but salads were available for us non meat eaters. Went here with some co workers while in town for training. I had never heard of this place, closest thing we have at home would be chick-fil-a or Houston Hot Chicken I think it's called? I'm usually pretty picky that the lords chicken (chick-fil-a) is the only good chicken. Most other places I've been the chicken is bland. This place was amazing. I got the Nashville hot sandwich with fried chicken. It was appropriately hot, won't burn your face off but actually has some heat to it. The fries were amazing and all the sauces I tried were great. The buffalo, Nashville hot and their house sauce were all amazing. The restaurant was clean and plenty of seating for our large-ish group. As with everywhere I've been here in Alabama the service was top notch, everyone is so polite! Definitely a good chicken sammich, I might have to go again while I'm in town. read more

I want to preface this review by noting that this is my first 1-star review. I am usually very satisfied with the food quality and service at most restaurants, but today's service was really appalling. Super Chix wasn't my first option tonight but this shopping center was busy and this restaurant seemed like a good next option. Personally, I have found most of their sandwiches here to be super greasy, so I opted for a salad and shared some fries with friends. I ordered the house salad and added grilled chicken. When I was ordering, the cashier verified my order with me *twice* to make sure that everything was correct. The salad came out almost immediately after I ordered, and I noticed that there wasn't any chicken on it. No big deal; I informed the server of the absence of chicken. The server seemed confused, brought another worker over, and then told me that I didn't actually order any chicken. Weird... I remember the cashier verified the order with me twice, both times in which the salad did have chicken. The server brought the salad back to the kitchen, then brought it back out with a grilled chicken filet. But it's not over... The other worker who was brought in decided to print out two different receipts to show me the price difference between a salad with chicken and a salad without chicken. He wanted to know which of those receipts most resembled my total. At this point, we've come to the conclusion that the worker must have incorrectly rung me up. To amend the cashier's mistake, the worker asked me to come to the front so he could charge me $4.50 for a grilled chicken filet. Worried that I was being a "Karen", I thought this over and felt that I shouldn't have to pay for a mistake that I did not make. I politely told the worker that I don't think it's my responsibility to pay for that since the cashier double-checked the order but it was still somehow incorrect. Alas, he disagreed. This problem was not going to be ignored and I must be the one to pay for it. So, I obliged (but I didn't really have an option, no?). This was a painstaking long process to get a chicken filet. ALSO... I checked online and the salad is supposed to come with you're choice of either a grilled or fired chicken filet. I genuinely do not understand why I had to pay for an additional filet. In this case, I have now paid for two filets and received one. TLDR: customer service was pretty disappointing, the food is decent. *I also work in the food industry and I wouldn't treat a customer like that, regardless of who is "right" or "wrong". read more

While I ate my sandwich, a family with young children left, and the staff immediately cleaned the area where they had sat, and cleaned the high chairs. With only one other Super Chix off 280, this Super Chix is in the popular Stadium Trace Village shopping center. Right across the street from Aldis and next to "arriving soon" 5 Guys (used to be a Mooyah), this SC is right on the corner and sees lots of traffic. There's very limited parking in the front, but just go around back and there's a large parking lot available. There's limited seating outside, but the interior is packed with table & chairs and booths. Tonight was a hump day Wednesday night and it was packed. But there was actually no one in line to order their food. Rachel got the chicken tenders. Delicious. Matthew tried the feature Korean BBQ chicken sandwich. It definitely had a Korean BBQ flavor and was spicy. Delicious. Tammy got the Bacavo Ranch sandwich. Her grilled chicken was served with bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato and topped with buttermilk ranch. Yom Yom delicious. I got the Nashville Hot salad. Perfectly fried tenders laid on top of a bed of lettuce, Gouda cheese, tomatoes, fresno peppers, buttermilk ranch. My fried chicken tenders were tossed with Nashville and boy did I feel it! My tongue and lips were burning. Hot but delicious. Their official name is Super Chix Chicken & Custard. Besides chicken, their menu includes Premium Frozen Custards: vanilla, dutch chocolate and flavor of the week. Today it was Oreo Cheesecake. I tried a single scoop of the oreo cheesecake and it was so good! There are also hand spun shakes: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, mint, cookies n cream and a flavor of the week. Truly can't praise this place enough. Visited a friend in Bham for the weekend and drove 20 mins out of my way to come here, and it was so worth it. The Hot Honey chicken sandwich is quite literally the best I've ever eaten, the fries are perfectly crispy, and the custard (which I'm usually pretty picky about!) is great. The food was out within 5 mins even though it was the lunch rush, and the server checking on everyone asked me multiple times if I was happy with everything with a big, genuine smile. The sandwich was a nice size and they weren't skimpy with the toppings, but the flavor just wasn't really there. But the most disappointing thing were the fried pickles. The gear from the pickles covered the bottom of the bag. They were soggy and lacked that crispness that makes fried pickles a treat. If they'd been delicious, then I could brag about the portion size which was pretty large... hence 3 stars. As far as chicken and fries go, this place should absolutely be in your top 3. The fried tenders pair so well with all of their sauces and the breading is so good. This was my first time trying the grilled and it might be some of my favorite grilled chicken from anywhere. The cajun fries are seasoned perfectly and you get such big portions! The service is elite for that place, you constantly have workers coming around refilling drinks, taking your trays and clean up as soon as you leave. They literally run from table to table and it's incredible to watch! The ambiance is wonderful, tvs with multiple different things playing so plenty for everyone! I think this place will give Zaxby's a run for their money. My husband and I stopped by here yesterday. I was surprised to see how packed the place was for an early Sunday afternoon. I actually went to sit in a booth that was recently vacated while my husband stood in line to order. My husband ordered chicken tenders for himself, a buffalo ranch chicken sandwich for me, and a large Cajun fry for us to share. Trust me. One large fry was more than enough for two adults to share. There are multiple condiments that you can try with your food. We decided to try their signature sauce and the Nashville hot along with ketchup and ranch. My sandwich was good. It kind of reminded me of how a Chick-fil-A sandwich tastes, but smothered in buffalo sauce. The fries were good. I feel like they could have been a little more seasoned. The service here was great! Super Chix is the latest addition to the Hoover, Alabama dining scene and if this visit on a Sunday evening is indicative of the crowd, it is an addition that has been welcome by the community. I guess the best way to describe Super Chix is to compare it to the fast food chicken biggie, Chik Fil A. It is akin to this monster brand in the poultry world, however, Super Chix brings with it a bit of Texas swagger and is already growing beyond its Dallas based origin and is spreading. Since I am trying to do a bit more of a health conscious thing, I opted for the blackened chicken sandwich and since I am only human, I opted for their french fries, going with the rosemary pepper seasoning blend. The chicken sandwich was good and instead of just pickles on it, they went with fried pickles (what!). This added exponentially to the quality of this sandwich. The fries were exceptional. Perfectly seasoned, so much so that I opted to not put ketchup on them. Super Chix is a place I would recommend. Expect long lines, but the lines move fast and service is exceptional. read more

Came here for dinner and it was very crowded. I don't think I have ever been to a fast food place where people were waiting on tables before! I got the blackened cajun chicken sandwich. It was very good! It had lettuce tomatoes and fried pickles on it. Every bite was tasty! Hubby had the simple chicken sandwich and I tried it. Really good fried chicken. Nice and crispy. The kid had the Nashville hot and it was pretty spicy. I will have to get this sometime. I had been forewarned about the portion size of the fries so we just ordered 1 fry for the three of us. That was plenty! You can get different seasonings on your fries for no extra charge. We just got salt but they were good fries. You can also get cheese fries or loaded fries for an extra charge. There is a self serve station where you can get different dipping sauces for your tenders or fries or whatever you want to put it on. You order at the counter and they give you a number and bring the food to your table. However, we were asked if we needed anything at least five times. They refilled our drinks, brought us napkins, and took our trays when we were done. Excellent service! I have to say that I was impressed with how well they handled the crowd. I had to check it out! Not bad, not bad at all. I asked a friend to meet me for dinner and I think we both enjoyed our meals. I ended up with the 4 tenders with Korean BBQ sauce and a side of coleslaw. The meat was very tender as I didn't haven't to put much arm strength in order to cut it. The sauce was a nice addition. The coleslaw was decent. I would have liked a little hint of sugar, my preference but it complemented the tenders. The tenders were a nice size and more than enough coleslaw, that I have leftovers. My friend ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with cajun seasoned fries. He also decided to check out all of the sauces and thinks the Nashville Hot will help with his sinus issue. The service is what bumped it from four stars to five. I was immediately greeted by a young man to ask me if I had been before and give me some basic instructions about how the process works. I was waiting on a friend so I asked him a few questions about the menu and he knew so much and gave such great advice! That is unfortunately a rarity in the restaurant biz these days. Afterward, I had a conversation with the manager who was really polite and helpful. Every employee I encountered was very friendly and eager to help. AMBIANCE - I like the big garage doors and the option for inside or outside dining. Because of the tireless workers, the place was spotlessly clean and running efficiently. FOOD - I had the Nashville Sandwich and loved it. I loved that big pile of fries that landed on my buddy's plate and Im glad he was willing to share with me! We both loved our food and all of the sauces. To top it off, I had some of the cookies and cream custard and it was delicious. My buddy is ready to go back and take his wife because they are very conscious of people with gluten issues and they have several methods to open up much of the menu to people with dietary issues. After letting the grand opening week hoopla die down, I decided to try out this restaurant. I visited the restaurant on a Thursday afternoon to avoid the lunch and the dinner crowd. While there weren't a lot of customers there (yay), there were plenty of workers. I ordered the basic chicken sandwich $6 (breaded), an order of hand-cut fries $3 (cajun), and a mini chocolate custard $3.5: $15 with tips. The person taking the orders also scoops the custard. Weird. It was fine since I was the only one in line. However, while I was eating, a long line started forming because the person taking the orders also scooped the custard. Hmmm.. It took a bit of time to get my sandwich and fries to the point where I thought perhaps they'd forgotten about me. I ate most of my custard while waiting for my food. My order came out, and as you can see in my photos, there was plenty of the fries. I went to the sauce station and brought back several sauces that I wanted to try: classic buffalo, nashville hot, korean BBQ, and the signature sauce. I especially liked the nashville hot and korean BBQ. The chicken sandwich was flavorful and reminds me of a chick-fil-A sandwich, with the chicken more breaded and thicker. Otherwise, I think it taste like chick fila sandwich. The fries were good, thicker than skinny fries, but thinner than McDonald's fries. Now, the chocolate custard is special. I remember thinking "Wow, this thing is delicious!" as I was eating it. Creamy, tasty, perfect. I plan to come back and try their grilled chicken options and their salads. Not sure if I came on a bad day or what but my food was simply just ok. My sandwich was warm and the garlic aioli I paid extra for was barely there but definitely made a difference because the rest was VERY dry. If I had more that probably could've saved it because the chicken had no flavor. My Cajun fries were hot and they gave a lot but I wasn't pleased with them. I got queso on the side which wasn't the best but not bad. Definitely helped me finish all of those fries. Overall it wasn't worth the $13 I spent but I might give something else on the menu a try. read more
