Tbh salad was meh, I got the pomegranate one and I liked my boyfriends fries better... maybe other options are good?

Have been waiting for over an hour for our food...one plate came out in a to go box with nothing on it...we will see how it goes from here... Well we got some food after going to the counter and begging for it after an hour and 15 min. Handed us a burrito and then another 10 minutes later brought me out a box of 3 plain pancakes and a to go cup of cold syrup. Would of asked for a refund today and gone somewhere else before we got our food if the line of others wanting a refund wasn't so long. Cubbys, if you are reading this, you usually do awesome, today absolutely sucked. We would really appreciate it if you would reach out with a gift card to replace our meal. ...also, what we got did not taste good and was not even close to typical Cubby's standards. read more

Still a solid 4 stars! I love it when owners read reviews and interact for good or bad. Yay! Food is still delicious and can't wait to try more menu items. It makes the trek into Utah County more tolerable. I have shunned sweet potato anything since it is so difficult to do right but Cubby's crinkle cut sweet potato fries are great especially if you ask them to fry them longer to make them crispy. I've had the DragonSlayer and TriTip, what should I try next Mr. Cubby? I need to revisit the Mac n Cheese and see if it got cheesier. read more

I really like the Wild Rice and Kale salad! I don't love kale, but this is well balanced with the other ingredients and not overly kale-y. I also really appreciate the salad is easy to eat. Everything is chopped up and mixed (expect for the dressing, on the side) so it's easy just to eat with a fork... no mixing or cutting up with a knife, which sometimes happens with salads and is a real annoyance. I just want to EAT the salad, not finish preparing it! As much as I love the salad, though, I don't think the rosemary fries are that special. They remind me of McDonalds fry, but with different seasoning. read more

The food my group ordered was alright. We enjoyed a steak salad, fries with Buffalo dip, tacos, and a burger. In fact, it was much better than the fast food and fast casual options I expected to find a short distance from the highway. The COVID-19 precautions, or lack thereof, were terrifying, however. On a Friday evening this place was chock-full of BYU students, a campus where over 2400 people have fallen ill. Few folks were wearing masks while coming and going from the establishment, and most people needed to be unmasked while eating anyway. While the restaurant had limited its seating somewhat, it still held over 50 people, so the statistical likelihood that someone in the restaurant had COVID-19 was nearly 100 percent. As well, the hard surfaces and crowd sizes meant that most diners were raising their voices, an additional risk factor for spreading aerosols. I stepped indoors to order my food, as I had been driving and had not had a chance to order in advance. I then waited for my food and ate outdoors, an option that no other party in the restaurant was taking advantage of, despite the mild weather. Be careful out there, y'all. The afternoon "deep cleans" of surfaces are not enough to keep everyone safe during this outbreak. read more

My college kids love this place so we decided to give it a go during our recent visit. The blue cheese fries were really disappointing. Too little blue cheese, too much "vinegar" hot sauce. I love spice but it's just didn't hit right. Ordered a simple grilled cheese and it was just bland. I added a little salt and dipped it in their fry sauce and it really made it better. Just didn't like that I had to doctor it up to give it better flavor. Their sweet potato fries are awesome - especially when you pair it with the fry sauce. Super crispy, perfect. We also ordered a side of Mac n cheese which was pretty good too. All in all not bad, but nothing to write home about. read more

Good customer service, but not so great food. The menu online was different than the one they had on the board (I forgot to take a pic). I got a black bean bowl, but they didn't have brown rice for it so they asked if they could sub wild rice, I said that was fine. I ended up not liking it, which could just be because of the wild rice. I got the black bean burger instead after that, but it was pretty mushy. So I had been to Cubby's before, but always for lunch. I had no idea they served breakfast until a friend suggested it. Game changer! The breakfast is reasonably priced with multiple options. Cubby's offers healthy, vegan and gluten-free dishes. I went with the Brioche French Toast--a delicious choice, but not necessarily healthy. Loved the crisp texture with the corn flakes and the portion size was perfect for me. The berries on top were fresh and perfectly ripe. LOVE THE FRESHNESS AND FLAVORS! Hands-down the best meat, fries, and salads on the planet. Great sandwiches! The Beef is unreal! Wet can be messy but it's worth it. The Tri-tip is awesome. Great Buffalo Blue Cheese fries. Try the sweet potato fries too. They are both awesome. Oh, and ask for the spicy fry sauce. Every salad I've had has been perfect and EVERYTHING is fresh. I just wish there was more stars I could give. I can't believe ANYONE could come here and have any issue with the food quality and taste. I cannot in good conscience recommend the Chicago Italian Beef sandwich. When Johnniebeefs shutdown a few years ago I needed a fill in for my Italian beef sandwich craving. I heard about Cubby's in Provo having the sandwich, so I paid a visit. It was extremely underwhelming. Hardly ANY giardiniera on the sandwich, tasteless beef, and they didn't give me a wet sandwich like I asked. I was in Chicago the previously week and was excited to have something like I had there, but this did not match up at all. The sandwich had no passion to it. It also is not worth the price AT ALL! If the restaurant wants to keep this on their menu at this price, at least make it taste like a real Chicago beef sandwich. Very disappointing. Do not bring any friends from the Chicagoland area here, they will not be happy. As for my fries, they were ok. Nothing special. My advice for the owner, if you're going to sell Chicago style beef sandwiches, make them actually good and worth coming to your restaurant. read more

Here's the bottom line...Cubby's is pretty good. Cubby's is a chain found throughout Utah. Their menu consists of sandwiches, burgers, salads, some desserts, and sides. I got the Dragonslayer Burger, which is their top sirloin patty mixed with bleu cheese crumbles and topped with smoked bacon, onions, pickles, greens, and their creamy buffalo sauce. Price is $7.99 for a single patty or $9.99 for a double. This burger doesn't come with sides. I recommend getting the double since the burger is small. The burger may be small, but it's thick, juicy, and packed with flavor. Overall, the restaurant is clean, the service was good, and the burger was very tasty. read more

the owners brother is selling children's books he self published in his brothers restaurant so that is kind of silly, the prices are getting a little crazy too. but they have some good salads and its not too bad that way. the drive thru operation is hanging on by a thread. really really slow. but i keep coming back so that says a lot. read more

I'm a huge fan of cubby's but they recently messed up my catering order horribly. I called hours before and everything was covered. I show up 15 minutes before expected pickup and they didn't have any order. I wait patiently, then go out to my car. No plastic utensils, no napkins, nothing. I go back and get those, and feel that they are bugged by my presence. I was kind the whole time but felt that my needs as a customer were not met. Cubby's is a Utah classic. When I lived out of the state this is one of the first places I wanted to go because they have some of the best, most unique salad options and really have something for everyone. I love the wild rice and kale salad, sweet potato fries and their breakfast! If you can get here on a Saturday morning you will crave this all the time! I used to love this place. I was so stoked when they brought back the Mr. beef, and I have never been more disappointed in all of my years dining anywhere. Huge price hike, sharp decrease in quality. The beef was bland, had absolutely no flavor, as well as the relish. Because they're making it wrong. What's the point of asking if you want it mild medium or hot when you have NO HEAT WHATSOEVER. There are no peppers, like there used to be, just oil celery and carrots. Absolutely terrible with no flavor and hardly any crunch. For the first time i can recall, I demanded a full refund. The fries were soggy and nasty, luke warm, just like the disgrace of a Chicago style sandwich they put in front of me. I hate what Cubbys has become. I'd rather go to Wendy's, at least they can get crispy fries to you every time. read more

This place has grown on me more and more. I really like their trip tip sandwich and salad. Last time I got their trip tip sandwich Cali style with both sweet and spicy BBQ sauce and it was solid. The salad would probably be my choice going forward since I eat like a monster and should probably be healthier in my choices. The rosemary fries are a staple though. The Huckelala shake is a new fave too for when I'm craving a shake (when am I not wanting a shake though..) it's a huckleberry shake with chocolate bits in it so that's pretty awesome! read more

Just really good food. I love the wild rice and kale salad and the buffalo blue cheese fries. Their shakes are also an actual shake, not ice cream eaten with a spoon *glares in Utah county*. I wrote my first review of Cubby's four years ago when it was a bit newer to the Utah scene and Provo was its only location. It has since expanded, as has my appreciation for it, and I felt like an update was due. This place deserves its lines and accolades. The food is hot, fresh, and fantastic, and of a unique style that isn't really found elsewhere. I can't say enough for the tri-tip sandwich (get it cali style with cheddar and avocado) and recently also tried the Che burger--sirloin with fried egg and manchego cheese and bacon and other goodness. We usually binge on a side of buffalo bleu cheese fries, and have heard (for the more healthily inclined) that the salads are top notch. This is the place I come when I want a hearty, meaty, high-quality meal for less than going to a steakhouse or other more expensive sit-down venue. read more

Overpriced for what they gave us. I got a double houdini burger and it left much to be desired. Too much meat and not enough sauce or toppings to counteract the meat. The meat was seasoned well, however. But overall the burger was mediocre My wife enjoyed her tri-tip steak salad, but it was mostly lettuce. Meh. Had the double Houdini burger. The meat is pre-cooked and heated when ordered. It's super over-cooked and dry. Not sandpaper dry but dry. There's mushrooms and an asiago aioli or something. Its bun was as nice as the sandwich was bland. Two daughters had salads. They were as attractive as they were bland. Another daughter had the street tacos. She was hungry and scarfed them up pretty fast. The retro industrial chairs and stools need something on the feet as the scraping noise they make on the concrete floor is so obnoxious that the sound continues to ring in my ears 12 hours later. In fact, I just stepped out on my front porch in Sandy and I'm pretty sure I heard the faint screech of those chairs 35 miles away. Cubby's is a casual quick-serve restaurant just off of Main Street boasting tasty, laid-back American fare at a fair price! I've been here several times and have always had a great experience. What I love about this restaurant is the variety that the menu has to offer. Cubby's offers traditional burgers and sandwiches, alongside fresh salads and sides. Vegetarians and carnivores alike would love this place! My personal favorite order is the Gypsy burger with a side of garlic aioli fries. The gypsy burger is the perfect mix of sweet and salty, with an expertly seasoned burger and loads of fresh veggies and caramelized onions. When I stopped in a few days ago I had a chance to try the mac and cheese for the first time- It was so delicious! Perfectly creamy and flavourful, and an excellent accompaniment to the burger. If you aren't a burger fan, I would definitely recommend the Apple Pecan Chicken salad! It is absolutely to die for delicious. Piled high with fresh veggies, apples, grapes, creamy Gorgonzola cheese, and candied walnuts, its the perfect mix of textures and flavours. It's filling, too, so it's a great option if you're looking for a lighter but satisfying meal. I've heard so many rave reviews about Cubby's. But I'm not really convinced that it's that much better than many other places around. I've tried it twice, one to go and one staying there. Don't get the fries to go. They just die. But I tried the Buffalo fries when I was able to stay and that was hands down my favorite things. I would just get that for a meal and be happy. My friends really like the tri-tip sandwich but I haven't tried that one. I tried the dragon slayer burger and was really just underwhelmed. Really average. The salads are quite good though. Also, if they could fix the flickering lights, that would be fantastic. At first I just thought it was a bad bulb. But then I realized that most of their light bulbs do that. The burger and sweet potato fries were great. The fry sauce was a great blend of spice and cream. The atmosphere was casual with a decent wait time for lunch. We also ordered a pumpkin moonpie for a light sweet and enjoyed the sweet finale...they have a huge sign that says, "eat, drink and... be married" even though I'm married and almost 30, people who read this, you don't have to live your life being married like they want you to think. read more
