We were recommended to try Cubby's for lunch, in particular the Tri-Tip Steak Salad. It was PACKED when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon. The line took maybe 15-20mins to get to the front, but at least their menu is on the wall by the line so you can decide before you get up there. The cashier said they enjoyed their tomato soup, so I ordered that and the Tri-Tip Salad. My bf ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad, both with an extra, free side of dressing (you're charged after the first side for each salad). The flavor of the soup was good, although I wish it had more chunk to it. It was just a little boring. I'd have to say the same for the salads -- the dressings look great when described on paper, but the flavor was watery and bland. The salads were skimpy -- definitely could have given us more lettuce, especially for the prices they charge for their full sizes! The steak and chicken were tender enough. Nothing extraordinary. Even if you're eating in, they bring all the food in disposable containers. I'm guessing they're doing this because of COVID, but I am not a fan of the waste at all. read more

Being a Chicago native I get an Italian beef wherever I can. Cubby's did NOT disappoint. It's not a Portillos but the beef was delicious and sliced just like I'd expect and the jus and bread were just right. They have what seems to be a homemade sort of giardinera with big cuts of celery and carrot and sport peppers depending on the heat level you try. Delicious. The whoopie pies in the front weren't clearly marked as such but I got one thinking they were cookies. Delicious. Planning to go back for breakfast. I would absolutely be a regular if we lived here. read more

Cubby's is the type of place where you can try a different menu item every day and love it all. Susannah's fav is the Wild Rice and Kale salad. I am not a salad person, but it is one of the best salads ever made! Bryce is in love with the tri-tip steak sandwich, bleu and bacon style. We also love the Smokey BBQ Bleu Cheese fries, as well as the Buffalo bleu fries! The only thing we don't absolutely love so far are the burgers. But we know plenty of people that love them so that could just be personal preference. A little known menu item that we are legitimately obsessed with is the whoopie pie. The tri tip salad is delicious and the dressing is to die for. Weekend breakfasts are also delicious!

Tri-tip sammich? Excellent. Street tacos? Really, REALLY good. In fact, almost everything here was excellent. My only real complaint is that their fries don't hold up when you try to scoop some of the buffalo bleu cheese sauce out of the cup. They're shoe-string style fries, and they just kinda bend, and you can scoop that chunk of bleu cheese up, and it made me sad. But then I scraped the entire thing onto my sammich, and I wasn't sad anymore, because the flavor was awesome. Oh, and my wife now knows what a Whoopie Pie is. We got the chocolate one. read more

I've been here a few times and have always enjoyed it. I've tried both the tri-tip steak salad (their most popular one) and the apple pecan salad. They're both good, but in my opinion, the Apple pecan wins out! I really love it. It's a pretty big portion, fills me up, tastes very fresh, and they are very generous with the toppings! Cubby's also has great fries. They have a lot of unique kinds, but I've only tried the rosemary and sweet potato--love them both! My only complaint here is that it's priced a bit too high for me to want to come back all the time. The salad is $10 and that just seems a tad steep to me for this type of place. This place is so hit and miss. Sometimes it's good with good service, but most the time it's not. Food is... Fine. Nothing particularly special, rather generic American fast casual food. Wife got sick from eating the steak salad, so dropping review down to one star. I usually get the tri-tip sandwich or salad. The last time I got the sandwich, it was soggy. This is a fast food / take-out restaurant. When you pay at the register, they spin their tablet around and ask you to complete the transaction. There are 3 large bold options. Would you like to leave a 15% tip? 20% tip? Or 25% tip? at the bottom of the tablet in small faded type it says: or leave no tip. It's hard to find. What did they do to earn a tip? Take my order? I had to get my own beverage and bus my own table. I wouldn't find out if they got my order right for 25 minutes. That's how long it took to get my salad. Great food and a great atmosphere. I love the variety of TTU menu at Cubby's! There are tons of options- all are great. We love salads and veggies in particular. We could fill up on their quinoa and herb (vegetarian salad on the menu) salad all day long. The wild rice and kale salad is also a favorite. Confused - My Son is a big fan of the Dragonslayer. It is a good burger. I like Cubby's as it is the only place to get Italian Beef Double Dipped outside of Chicago. It wasn't on the menu this time around? Could this be a COVID casualty? Seriously, everyone sells burgers. There are dozens of burger joints in Utah. I have a hard time with Cubby's. Here's the quick and dirty review: fine food at an expensive price. Keep reading if you wish for me to break it down further, because I'm going to anyway. Fine food--The Cockadoodledoo sandwich and Tri Tip Steak Salad are alway my go to's. Everything has a yummy flavor, but the steak is usually super chewy and hard to bite into. Sweet potato fries or regular rosemary, every time I have them, they taste old and cold. I ask for the buffalo and ranch on the side so I can dip and they won't get soggy. A Hunckalala Shake (huckleberry and chocolate chips) is the occasional treat I'll get if someone is willing to help me slurp it up. It's all fine, like I said, but nothing to really rave about. Expensive--The aforementioned steak salad is $10. HOLY CRAP. And I can inhale that in a matter of seconds. Basically it's a place I go to when I feel like I can splurge and treat myself. A salad, sweet potato fries, and a shake all came out to be $18 (not including tip). That's a solid chunk taken out of my pocket, and I have a hard time finding it worth it. The sauces are good, ambience is super casual and fun, and there is usually enough parking at this location even though it shares a parking lot with other businesses and is located right in the heart of Provo. TIPS & TRICKS: * Find someone to take you on a date here, rather than buying it yourself ;) * Grab an extra water cup if you don't drink soda, because their soda fountain is a far ways away from your seat. This exceeded expectations. It was definitely different that I expected but it was good different. The flavors were great and the prices were pretty reasonable. The service was friendly. It wasn't very fast but that probably has to do with the fact that there was a steady stream of customers rolling through the entire time we were there. they were out of the ingredients to make one of the sandwiches I wanted to try, which was annoying but I guess that gives me a reason to come back. First time eating here. The chicken poblano soup was delicious, wish it had some fried tortilla strips to give it some crunch. I ordered the half salad cup of soup combo. I chose the Tri tip salad. The cilantro dressing wasn't that good but a server brought me a side of bbq sauce and that made all the difference. The beef itself was very good and next time I might just go for the Tri tip sandwich. We stopped into this place while we were in Provo for a few days. The inside looks pretty cool and the staff was really nice. As two vegetarian's eating at cubbies me and my boyfriend didn't really fine too much on the menu. We ended up getting some salads which were OK. The dressing that came with the buffalo chicken salad (sans chicken and bacon) was really odd. Kind of a orange vinaigrette which with the other flavors didn't really mash well. Went up and got a second dressing I think this one was a lemon ginger or something... Also just way too citrusy. Did get a nice huckleberry shake might even consider going back for that otherwise if you're veg I don't think cubbies is worth checking out. read more

After years of eating at Cubby's I am sad to be leaving a 3 star review. My main reasons for this review are raised/high prices and quality of food. Any restaurant that has a drive thru should not be charging $11 for a single patty burger. Burger and fries for $16 is a joke, especially when the fries are subpar and the burger is average. I don't expect it to be as cheap as In-N-Out, but again when there is a drive thru... I mean come on. Since last time I visited (from out of town), they have improved their seating situation tremendously, which scores lots of points in my book. It's a busy restaurant so the more seating the better. Since then, he's opened many locations all over the state, and its good that he did, because this place is A-Maz-Za-Zing! Frequent order: tri-tip steak salad and rosemary fries It's a solid salad with a great fresh cilantro lime dressing. Left the restaurant feeling not greasy and very fresh. Rosemary fries were so bomb extra crispy, great saltiness with that fragrant rosemary, with the fry sauce and chipotle they have takes in to another level. I had fully intended on giving this place 3 stars because it is just not good enough or bad enough to sway me either direction. HOWEVER.
