Let me start out with, VERY impressed! This store is clean, quiet, and the staff are there ready to help. I have a MacBook Pro 17" running I know, Windows XP through Parallels. One evening I clicked on a Windows Icon and POOF! The GOD forsaken blue screen of death. I had no choice but to format the hard drive, reinstall Parallels and XP along with Quicken for my business. My data file could not be found anywhere on my laptop including Time Machine. Frantic, I took my laptop to a Recovery place and was told, "It looks like your out of luck." One of the techs at the recovery place told me about Cry Wolf and they may be able to help. Well, my experience was nothing short of fresh air! The techs (Mitch and Grey) at Cry Wolf saved my rear axle! They had spent hours recovering my data as a personal challenge and were able to retrieve everything! The best part is they only charged me a small percentage of what I figured it was going to be. As you will read in other reviews, Cry Wolf can provide equal to or better than service than the Apple store. I HIGHLY recommend Cry Wolf for their professionalism, attitude, and of course the most important, competence and knowledge to repair your Apple products. This computer business is slow to respond to customer needs. I ordered a computer in early December and was told it would be in by Christmas. It came in January 7th, 2014. Great experience here with a hard drive replacement that was still under warranty. I decided to skip the chaos that is the Apple Store these days, and went to this authorized service provider instead. Got an extra level of service here, and I will definitely be back! It's great to be able to pick up the phone and talk to someone, and it's also nice to be able to park right out front. Seems like a good and honest computer repair business specializing in Macs and other Apple products. The sales and techs performed good work on my iMac at a very fair cost. However they seem very overworked and/or slow. It took them nearly 3 full business days to perform a very simple (under 45 minute) upgrade on my iMac with no data transfer or testing necessary. When I asked the salesman why, he said it was because the queue was 20 computers long and there were only a "couple" of technicians working. In short, Crywolf will perform the work correctly and for a fair price, but they're understaffed and you should expect to wait for it. read more

Great sales team. Representative I spoke to on the phone was aware of the issue I was facing with my MacBook Pro and told me he has the parts to replace it already in stock. Seems like he just wanted to get me into their shop; because when I got there the 'genius' employee working the front desk told me they need to order the part. Right as Apple retail stores closed and I finished with my finals, my Macbook Pro's screen received the black screen of death. With summer classes starting around the corner, I took my laptop to Crywolf and I couldn't recommend them more. Knowing that all the Apple retail stores were closed, I figured they would have a longer than normal repair time so I decided to pay for the expedited repair service. While the laptop was in their possession, I emailed them asking for updates and estimated time of completion and they were so good about keeping me in the loop throughout the whole process which I really appreciated. I also want to give Nancy a big shoutout for giving me a partial refund for the expedited service because it took a little longer than expected. Everybody I interacted with at this company was awesome. The customer service was top-notch and professional. This company and the employees are fantastic. My computer was repaired in a couple of days and now it is like a brand new computer. Their expertise is amazing yet they have a local business manner. They return emails immediately and answer phones with very helpful people instead of push button robots. Even though it was all Apple parts they charged less than Apple and had my computer back in my hands very quickly. They made my big computer problem into a "no problem". I've been to Cry Wolf 5 times to upgrade or repair 5 different computers. Their prices for parts were always more than reasonable and service times were prompt and labor fairly priced. Last November, I went in to see what it would cost to fix up my son's 3 year old Mac Book to donate to a student in need, and was not happy to hear it had several hardware issues. I was much happier when they told me that some of the problems would be covered by Apple under a recall, which I hadn't heard about. It was just before Christmas, so I told them not to hurry about it, that it was not a Christmas gift, I could wait. A week later they called to apologize that there had been a delay in getting it fixed, and I reminded them that I wasn't in a hurry for it. When I went in to pick it up a few days later, it was beautiful, worked great, and best of all, they had refunded half the labor fee for the delay! That really meant a lot to me, as money is tight. So many computer shops may have failed to tell me about the recall, and I can't think of one other in my life that ever refunded anything for being late. I really trust these guys! read more

After nearly six years the tracker pad on my Mac book pro started to give out, so I signed on to the apple website to book a repair, the apple website actually came up with alternative places for repair and one of them was Cry Wolf who I had used for my I Mac a few years ago. I called and was quoted $99 up front plus price of the part and however long it took to do the repair would be paid when I picked up my Mac book estimated cost nearly$300 and when I was told it could take from 10 to 16 days I was like No Way. Back to Apple I went booked a session at the Genius Bar, my appointment was 2:15 and was seen at exactly 2:15 as all of apples staff this guy was great he talked us out of doing upgrades not needed like the battery and the cost for the tracker pad was $90 including labor out the door and ready in less than 5 hrs. Way to go apple so don't think it's more expensive at Apple and don't get ripped off by Cry Wolf aptly named and will never use you again. read more

My MAC crashed. Hard drive died. Apple store could replace the drive but not recover any files and recommended a place in Northern CA. I called them and for $1,500 I could send them my Mac and they would try. Well CryWolf in Kearny Mesa replaced the hard drive with a 1TB and recovered all my files and restored them to my Mac. when I turned it on it was like nothing had happened. A few (2) files were moved but everything was recovered. All for less than $300! I listened to them and now have an external hard drive connected to Time Machine to prevent any problems in the future. I would definietly recommend them for any Apple problems! read more

Great service! I brought my Apple Mid-2012 with failed hard drive to Crywolf. The guys told me that it'll take them 6-8 business days to diagnose it which I was fine with. I wrote a check for $130 and prepared for a long wait. I was pleasantly surprised when three business days later I received a call that my computer was ready for pick up. I even received the full refund since it was a bad wire covered by Apple. I would definitely recommend their service and will use it again if I have to. read more

I have never experienced such horrible and rude customer service upon pick up of my computer. The guy I dropped it off with was great. I needed more storage so they cloned my files and put a bigger hard drive into my Mac. They gave me no disclaimer that they would also erase my MS Office for Mac. I called CryWolf the day after pick up and told them I no longer had access to MS Office. The girl I spoke with said "yeah that happens sometimes. You will have to deal with Microsoft." Great, thanks. Now I have no product key to reinstall MS Office which I purchased pre-loaded on my Mac, I've spent hours on hold/being transferred to Apple Care, Microsoft, the Apple Store to NO AVAIL. Gale goes above and beyond!!! I called Crywolf at the advice of Basics and Beyond in Carlsbad (who has helped me with my machines several times, and who I also recommend, but they couldn't help with this issue). I have an older (2008) Mac Pro which is still a workhorse and which I would like to keep running (video card issue). After being shunned by the Genius Bar at Apple and other Mac repair services, I spoke with Gale (sorry, spelling?) at Crywolf who spent considerable time with me on the phone, but couldn't supply a ready solution to my problem... I didn't really expect a call back, but a few hours later, Gale called back, having researched my issue extensively (at no charge), and provided several courses of action for me to try. When these didn't work for me, Bill at Crywolf also provided the same attentive focus. At this point, I was already sold on this business and ready to recommend to anyone who had a sick Mac... but I received a phone call out of the blue today from Gale, who had searched through a pile of dead machines and found a spare part for me to diagnose my machine, at no charge??!!!!
