I have been here a few times and always wonder why I don't stop more often! They offer a variety of drinks and sandwiches!! They also have some baked goods. The staff is always so nice and the inside is so cute!

Cute little spot right by the river in Torrington. It's a bit confusing to drive there -- you have to go down what looks like a dead end street -- but if you're already downtown and walking around, it's kind of convenient. I got the bacon egg and cheese, a side of hash browns, and a bagel with cream cheese for about $17, which felt fair for a local café. They have outdoor seating too if you want some fresh air by the water. Overall, 4/5 -- worth checking out!

In Torrington I came across this adorable coffee shop called Crumbs. The exterior of the building caught my eye, with its sky blue bricks that would blend into the sky on a sunny day. The inside is so inviting and beautiful! They have a full wall of positive messages, on a faux grass background. Once I saw the December menu, I knew I'd be getting the Holiday Cookie Latte. I don't know if it's a new concept or if I've been living under a rock, but I've never had a hot latte with cold foam, until I had it at Crumbs. Oh my, was this delicious! The cold foam was cookie dough flavored, which is basically like ice cream. And the latte was almond flavored! This was a dream combo! My Holiday Cookie Latte was creamy, flavorful and so tasty! The girl who made it for me was very pleasant. When I'm in the area, I'd love to stop by Crumbs again!

Smoothie bowls, Nutella toast, and Coffee Cake! I highly recommend all of these!

The ambiance of this sweet coffee shop is perfect! Such a great vibe and fantastic service! Not to mention the food is incredible and fresh made every time!

Extra power outlet! Very thoughtful.

Great place to do some remote work. WiFi is solid, plenty of power outlets, friendly and welcoming vibe. Nice and cool on a summer day, mid morning it was quiet enough for me to be on meetings on my earbuds. Varied menu with hot food, baked goods and smoothies, and good coffee!

Crumbs is the offspring of Toast and Co in Litchfield, located near the public parking area on Franklin Street. There's not a lot of room to sit (and the tables are configured in parties of two), so take out seems to be their dominant business. They have a good selection of coffee, regular and seasonal. There is somehow a Litchfield Springs water for sale (surprising because I don't think Litchfield has a spring). They offer breakfast and lunch sandwiches. The egg is cooked to fit the sandwich perfectly, although the cook and seasoning were slightly inconsistent. The cheese is light, but overall the sandwich was tasty. They seem like they will definitely be a neighborhood hot spot for coffee, especially when the new apartments down the road are fully open, so ordering ahead may be a wise precaution!

Great breakfast burrito, grilled chicken sandwich, and Nutella, strawberry, banana toast! We did takeout and ate it around 30 minutes later, so it wasn't very warm anymore but still tasted good

Service is great. I ordered a sandwich. The bread is really soft and good. Cute space. Convenient. They also have this really cute wall you can write positive quotes on. Cute

If the great exterior doesn't invite you enough, though it should. The quality of food inside will! Great staff as well. Will be coming back for sure.

Coconut Cream Pie Iced Latte (I couldn't help myself I drank it before I could get a picture) it was absolutely delicious!!

My mom surprised me with a coffee on her way home from work it was a Coconut Cream Pie Iced Latte and it was absolutely delicious! It tastes just like the pie without the crust it even had toasted coconut on top and throughout it and it had coconut cold foam on top! This is definitely my favorite summertime coffee drink!! 100/100 definitely recommend!!!!!

Good food and coffee combined is hard find, this place is a bit pricey, but worth the little extra for high quality products.

I stopped into Petraroia Deli on a recent weekday and was immediately charmed by this classic…read moreItalian-style deli tucked into a beautiful old red-brick building. From the moment you see the elegant vintage sign and bright red double doors, you know you're in for something authentic. The interior feels warm and welcoming, with a big, clear menu board that makes ordering easy. They have a solid selection of hot and cold sandwiches, breakfast options, and coffee. I went with one of their specials -- it looked like a chicken cutlet or eggplant variation with fresh greens (possibly arugula), roasted red peppers or similar, and what appeared to be a touch of egg or cheese. Whatever it was, it was excellent. The sandwich came on a perfect crusty Italian roll -- the bread was fresh with a great chew and slight crisp on the outside. The fillings were generous, flavorful, and well-balanced. The greens added a nice peppery bite that cut through the richness of the protein and any sauces. It was one of those sandwiches where every bite tastes just as good as the last. Service was friendly and efficient (the guy behind the counter was busy but still took time to make sure everything was right). The place has that old-school deli atmosphere mixed with modern touches -- exactly what you want when you're craving a quality sandwich. If you're in the area and looking for a no-nonsense, delicious deli sandwich made with care, Petraroia Deli is worth a visit. I'll definitely be back to try more from the hot sandwich list (the Porchetta and Chicken Cordon Bleu both caught my eye). Pro tip: Check their hours -- they appear to be closed on Mondays. *Highly recommend the fried artichoke sandwich. .

ITALIAN COLD CUT GRINDER: -- medium size -- soft bread that is thick and holds up to the meat and dressing easily -- I like that it does NOT have that crunchy hard exterior crust -- I added more Italian dressing from our side salad to get it nice and wet style -- in hindsight I wish I had asked to add additional meats to make it even more diverse and interesting -- another sandwich shop that has gone the way of the Do-do bird used to pile on the meat...I do not need that, but I do like a very diverse Italian grinder with about 4-5 different meats on it -- the pruzitini (black pepper heavy per the net) was as the sandwich maker said "not too black pepper" once everything assembled...I do not like black pepper too much -- cheesecakes and waffle cone cheesecakes looked okay but I am a Basque, ricotta or Chicago cheesecake fan -- cannoli appeared fresh via firm shell but looked light on choc chips, so I vetoed RATING = A NARDELLI's ROOTBEER (yellow label): -- lighter carbonation -- medium sweet or tad more -- not sarsaparilla tasting unfortunately -- slightly old skool taste more like IBC RATING = A- Dad liked his SAUSAGE and PEPPERS grinder. Always busy (I will get to that in a moment). Three of us for a quick dinner. Two of us split a giant turkey and provolone. One of us had a regular roast beef. Fresh. Delicious. The most similar taste to growing up in NJ I've ever found. My issues have nothing to with the workers or the food. I am always continually frustrated by two things: 1) they staff too lean. I know we need to make a profit, but there was no one available to change out the empty soda syrup for a particular flavor and , seemingly at every location, I have to find napkins and clean off my table from lettuce shreds and semolina from the roll. I have to say, it's not the 3 staff people working. They were flying around and handling the line. It's just that every location needs that one extra person to focus on guest experience. It was $55 by the time we were done. I shouldn't have to wipe my own table or not choose the soda I'd prefer due to capacity issues. 2) corporate needs to figure out a plan for online orders. I've said this in the Watertown location review. And it's the same here. It's maddening to be "next" at the counter. No one in front of you. And a print out for 6 sandwiches comes through and you're watching the team make "ghost sandwiches" while your dine-in family sits and waits. Maybe that extra person can focus on online orders only and dining room appearance? Just a thought. I love the food. I think highly of the people who work there. They need to figure out the guest experience. The money gap between dinner at Jersey Mike's and a sit down restaurant is shrinking. At what point is the extra money worth full service?
