This is the third location in the area I've visited and I have left each of them loving the food. Great people behind the counter. Cheerful. Seemingly working together. Always busy (I will get to that in a moment). Three of us for a quick dinner. Two of us split a giant turkey and provolone. One of us had a regular roast beef. Fresh. Delicious. The most similar taste to growing up in NJ I've ever found. My issues have nothing to with the workers or the food. I am always continually frustrated by two things: 1) they staff too lean. I know we need to make a profit, but there was no one available to change out the empty soda syrup for a particular flavor and , seemingly at every location, I have to find napkins and clean off my table from lettuce shreds and semolina from the roll. I have to say, it's not the 3 staff people working. They were flying around and handling the line. It's just that every location needs that one extra person to focus on guest experience. It was $55 by the time we were done. I shouldn't have to wipe my own table or not choose the soda I'd prefer due to capacity issues. 2) corporate needs to figure out a plan for online orders. I've said this in the Watertown location review. And it's the same here. It's maddening to be "next" at the counter. No one in front of you. And a print out for 6 sandwiches comes through and you're watching the team make "ghost sandwiches" while your dine-in family sits and waits. Maybe that extra person can focus on online orders only and dining room appearance? Just a thought. I love the food. I think highly of the people who work there. UPDATE: Seems it was an issue of newer help... I've been back and each time my sandwich was extremely good, and not skimpy!! Which makes me happy because I really enjoy these sandwiches!!! Use to enjoy coming to Jersey Mikes. But it seems since the buy out and new CEO. The portions of meat and toppings is giving Subway vibes. And that's not a compliment in way. Extremely disappointing to say the least. Additionally at my last (and probably last visit) order - I asked for some salt and pepper, admittedly after I started eating. But was told no - it's only available at the time of order. I will say the manager came over with a cup of salt and pepper but I was already finished eating my low portion sub. I ordered a #13 sub in a tub from Jersey Mike's. The taste was fine and the meat was cut fresh, which I appreciate. The portion size, though, has definitely gone down over time -- it just didn't feel as satisfying as it used to. Service was okay -- nothing special but nothing wrong either, just average. My wife orders from this location of Jersey Mike's Subs weekly. If it was up to her, she rated this business 5 Stars easy, but I'm writing this review, not her. I feel it's just OK. Better than Subway, but not as good as Nardelli's Grinder Shoppe down the road. You get more for your buck at Nardelli's, the sandwiches are larger and more filling. The only real advantage Jersey Mike's Subs has for me, is that they are walking distance to where I work. That's about all I have to say, since it is a chain, you more or less know what to expect. Surprised by the Worst Experience ever had here. You could cut the tension between the staff with a knife. Known for accommodating Gluten allergies, other use the dedicated slicer the staff violated the remaining protocols. Person in charge was the worse at preventing cross contamination of orders. Remaining 2 staff members either rolled his eyes at every customer or was severely under trained. Finally I jumped on the band wagon to see what the fuss was about this place I ordered a mini blt grinder a cookie and sodas. Not impressed for $7.20 I could of gotten the same sub at Subway and hell of a lot bigger I honestly thought the mini sub was going to be just a small decent size sub, when they say mini they mean mini and for that price was just a rip off. The Cookie was packaged I liked that and it was fresh and chewy, actually liked the cookie more than the grinder and that is sad, so would I order from here again the answer is No way just go to subway in my opinion. Aside from not being able to sit down to eat, the service was exceptionally slow, not particularly friendly and the sandwich was completely wrong. I don't know how a sandwich so drenched in oil that you could wring it out like a rag could somehow simultaneously be dry as the Sahara desert but they managed to pull it off. 7pm on Saturday, 11/12/22 So disgusted by the guy who worked at Jersey Mike's making cold sub My husband had ordered online and when I went to go pick it up the lady informed that I was a little early and that she just needed the cold sub. While I sat there and waited. The guy making the cold sub sandwich asked the lady what was needed and he said "oh, the cold sub" then plops the sandwich on the dirty counter. When there was literally a cutting board right next to him. Just that, made me want to walk out and not even take my order. Especially doing something so unsanitary and disgusting. I'm sure the guy that was sitting next to me looking at everyone work was just as surprised by how they were making everything and how disgusting everything was. Not only was my order made in a disgusting way, but once I received the sandwich and went to my car. I saw that I was missing items. So I went back in and asked for a side of jalapeños. The guy who made my sandwich asked if I was picking up. I told him "no, I am missing items on my sandwich. Can I get a side of jalapeños?" The guy then said "What's your name? Whats the order name? What did you order?" Are you kidding? All those questions after I had just inform you I was missing item on my order. Thank goodness the lady that was originally at the register came to the front because I was not about to be spoken like I didn't know what I was talking about. In the end, I ended up throwing out our sandwich out. I was not going to risk getting food poisoning from here again. I love eating at Jersey Mike's in other area with no problem but the Torrington area, no. I had thought it would be a different experience with different people and more sanitary, nope NOW I know this is the reason. I ordered online, went in, got my food and it was delicious! Certainly don't need to search for the cheese or meat. I do think it was a bit packed considering the current circumstances (COVID pandemic), perhaps they could have come up with some kind of system to make it less packed, but knowing that they were just opening and that this could happen I was proactive and just ordered online, stayed away from people, picked up my food and left. Went in to try it right when they opened. The place was mobbed, but they had a lot of help and the wait was reasonable considering how many customers were there. I ordered one cold sandwich and one philly cheese steak. They were both prepared well and both were really good. Everything was very fresh. The cheese steak was right up there with anything you get in philly. Nice lean tender meat and nice and hot. I will be a regular customer for sure. The local sandwich shops may be in trouble. The" juice " and spice mix is tasty on an Italian. I probably would get it on turkey or roast beef. the mayo would be better for my tastes. read more

Subs taste decent, but never go during lunch or dinner time. I've ordered ahead several times and I've had to wait about 20 minutes for the sandwich beyond the time they said it would be ready. Went today to pickup a two sandwiches that were supposed to be ready at 12:20 pm. I went in at 12:19 and waited, among a group of other people also waiting for their pickup order, until 12:44 pm. They never call order names out and so the customers waiting all have to keep going up to see the name on the sandwich order receipt they just put out. Plus, the guy filling the takeout orders was also running the register and taking payment from in-store customers. In total, there were probably 15 people waiting for either orders at the counter or pickups. They don't seem to have a very good system in place. And then businesses like this start wondering why they are losing customers. read more

But as a grub hub and doordash driver, let me warn you: Do not go here, unless you have a couple hours to kill waiting for 2 sandwiches. I have picked up orders here about 10 times, and have had exceedingly bad experiences each and every time. Even if the place is empty, your order will take about 30 minutes longer than you expect. The staff is largely jaded and immune to the anxiety they cause their customers as they wait, and wait... and wait. Generally they will try and make you feel like it's your fault you are waiting, ie "You are early, but I'll make it now". Even though the order should have been made 20 minutes ago. Tried to go to this place yesterday as I heard they have great food. Guess I will never know. They had so many people inside the store that it was insane. During a pandemic . There was barely enough room to be safe. At least 50 people packed into a tiny restaurant. There was NO employees monitoring the door. When they make the sandwich right and it's consistent (e.g. cheese across the whole sandwich; not just piled up and somehow dripping out of one corner) and at least close to the pickup time (I.e. ready for pickup @time, arrive at time, wait through 30minutes+ of them saying just a few more minutes... while you stand there wondering how much longer it's going to be...) it's a damn good sandwich. But I've given this place 4 chance to not screw up my order, not make me wait for 30minutes inside a nearly empty restaurant, and deliver a consistent sandwich or two sandwiches that are literally identical but one is missing something like cheese or half the sandwich has almost no meat, etc.... and if they're going to consistently screw up that badly, they don't deserve my business, much less the price they charge. Really had high hopes for this places, my grand opening sandwiches were perfect! An experience that was sadly never repeated at this location. I have waited in excess of 30+ minutes longer than the time they said my order would be ready when ordering in the app. As I type this right now, I have watched 10 customers enter The store since I've been here, and all the staff is dedicated to making their orders.
