You know when you kind of love a place so much you almost don't want the whole world to find out about it? That was this place for me. I had noticed it before when visiting the Christmas Chute, but the reviews were a little mixed so we never gave it a try. Fast forward to this weekend when we got invited to a birthday at the speakeasy upstairs... and I'm so glad we finally went. First of all -- they're doing a great job with the speakeasy concept because I genuinely had no idea it was there. It's upstairs above the restaurant and you need a code word to get in. Since we were already there, we decided to have dinner first and the menu honestly surprised me in the best way. It's very much Southern comfort food, but elevated a bit. The vibe inside is eclectic and interesting. The staff was super friendly, and even on a Saturday night it wasn't overly busy. The new streets in Sapulpa look great now that the construction is finished, but because most of the parking is behind the buildings the street can look like a ghost town even when places are actually busy. Kind of a weird illusion. They start you off with bread and a trio of fresh butters which was unexpected and delicious. The bread itself wasn't anything fancy, but the butter definitely was. I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered from the kids menu (which I very much appreciated did not say "12 and under"). I got a grilled cheese and the waitress suggested adding a cup of tomato bisque. Yes please. Both were excellent. My husband ordered the grilled chicken and said it was moist and really good. They also have a full bar and a huge coffee bar, which I thought was a fun touch. Then we headed upstairs to the speakeasy and it's a whole different vibe up there. Very cool space. Also extremely eclectic. Think Tommy Bahama meets world traveler's curio cabinet. There were travel finds from around the world displayed in cases, parrot chandeliers, a baby grand piano, and a cheetah print pool table. It somehow all works. Live music was by Steve Lindell and he was fantastic. Two thumbs up. Bar service was great, just a little slow -- but to be fair I don't think they were expecting a 40-person birthday group to roll in all at once. All in all it was a fantastic night. If it wasn't about 45 minutes from my house, we would probably be regulars. But maybe it's okay if it stays just a little bit of a hidden gem. read more

Had a wonderful lunch with my son who is getting ready to go out of state for work. We both got the double smash burger and seasoned fries. So tasty! I also had the mocktail called Strawberry Fields Forever, very good! Although there are regular food is very tasty, Service friendly & outstanding... I am a dessert-aholic.. I totally wanted to revisit this place on a regular day (and not during the Christmas season) so I could up my review. I also wanted to support local businesses during the whole Re-Dewey project. I went for a quick lunch around 11:30. The place wasn't crowded but as I finished up, more larger groups were coming in. First of all, service could not have been better. Total five stars for that. My server was super attentive while she took care of other tables. She told me the special of the day was the red pepper soup. I was tempted but it was a hot day. Instead I went with the Sassy Chicken sandwich off the lunch menu. The bun was toasted perfectly, the sauce was pretty tasty and I loved the pickles. The chicken was nothing special. The fries were above average. I might do the grilled chicken next time and ask for more of the special sauce. The desserts and the ice cream concoctions will bring me back in!!!! read more

Y'all, this place has so much potential. It's cute. It's decorated perfectly. They have a beautiful bar and an amazing dessert bar. But literally every time we visit, it just misses the mark by "this much". Examples: 1. two bartenders, both also waiting tables. Lack of attention to both functions, takes forever to get served a drink because they're also taking food orders & running plates. Staff it correctly. Please. 2. Seasoning. Just a notch off on everything. The herb butter on the steaks is so heavy on rosemary it wipes out your taste buds. The southwest salad needs spice! It needs acid. I asked for lime wedges to squeeze over it, which helped, but it needs seasoning that lends itself to "southwest" (chili powder, cumin, coriander, jalapeños). 3. Crispy Brussels. They are oily and heavy every single time. I always think "maybe this time they'll be crispy". Nope. Crank up the heat on the fryer or roast them in the oven. Something to please rescue this dish and make it live up to the name. The potential is there, just execute it properly. 4. Mac & cheese is gloopy. Please make it a creamy, smooth sauce. Toss in some heavy cream & charge a buck more. I'd gladly pay for decent Mac & cheese. Anyway, I think they survive here because they are an "okay" restaurant in a town without a ton of options. But if other, better restaurants move in, they'll be done for. read more

I have been wanting to go here for a little while and really wanted to like it, but had concerns with online reviews. When I arrived in the restaurant and in the upstairs speakeasy, it is visually enticing. However, when I sat down, I had an awkward table leg in between my legs the entire meal. I love the antiques, but the round antique tables are not comfortable. My friend put her coat on a chair and the chair was so lightweight that the chair fell back onto the floor. Our waitress was good, but needed some training as she wasn't able to Fill our drinks or bring us everything that we'd asked for. The food was OK but the brussels sprouts were phenomenal. The chicken fried steak was not hand breaded. It appeared to be frozen. We decided to go to the speakeasy and I love the ambience and the seating but the bartender took 20 minutes to get our drinks. Unfortunately, unless the service changes at this establishment and the food is changed I will not be back. I also feel that the food is overpriced for what it is. read more

We started with the crispy brussel sprouts which were amazing, & the onion strings which came with a delicious dipping sauce. My husband had the chicken fried steak, which was very good. It was plenty of food to share. I tried the tomato basil soup & it was perfect for a cool Fall night like tonight. The service was good. This is a cute family-friendly spot right off of Route 66 in the heart of downtown Sapulpa. The space is nice, I would describe the decor as sort of country chic. They have a cozy waiting area inside near the front that is very cute as well as a detached patio in the alleyway next to the restaurant, great for groups. We went during the holidays when the road was closed off for the Sapulpa Chutes. It was great being able to walk up to the restaurant from the main street after checking out the festivities. We arrived early so there wasn't a wait, but it did seem to get busier later in the evening. Parking was easy to find just a short block away. During the holidays they offer a limited holiday menu. I had the smash burger and my partner ordered the chicken piccata. Both were good and well prepared. The burger was a tiny bit on the salty side while the carrots that came with the chicken dish were on the sweeter side, similar to candied yams in flavor. However we both througoutly enjoyed our meal and the prices were very reasonable. There is also a separate bar area where they were serving up holiday drinks as well as an ice cream counter with an assortment of different flavors. We saw several families come in just for ice cream. Overall, a good experience and we would certainly visit again if we are in the area. read more

Tried this place on a whim today and weren't disappointed. We had the most adorable and helpful server and the food was spot on. Loaded fries for an appetizer was a perfect start. I had a limited menu offering that they should probably keep: buffalo chicken sandwich with house made buffalo sauce from scratch. Apparently all their sauces are made from scratch. The buffalo sauce was the absolute best I've had. Great tangy and spicy combination. My fiancé had the Oklahoma Burger which she loved with homemade ranch to dip our fries in, along with Mac and cheese. Topped it all off with a coffee brownie chip cheesecake which was incredible. I would say hands down one of the better meals I've had locally in some time. My only complaint would be that the menu seemed rather limited for the space they offer. Seemed they could have more offerings in the future according to our waitress. Do not pad this place up! read more

During the Route 66 chutes, the street is shut to walking only so you will need to find parking within a couple blocks. I loved the plates the food was served on. There is a variety of photos showing the history of Sapulpa around the restaurant, worth checking out. The bathroom has some lovely old mirrors. The service was friendly and quick given it was a busy chutes weekend, we were lucky and didn't have to wait for a table but all the silverware was dirty but clean silverware was delivered just before our food arrived. The food was average and would rate a 3 but the service was good which is why I rated a 4. My Brussel sprouts were okay I didn't care for the sauce on top. I did like the thicker fries. My friend said her burger was good. The carrots with the chicken packet were a bit too sweet. read more

Eh. Called around 2:30 the day we wanted to have dinner, the hostess was very confused & told us no problem, then turned around & said they were booked solid from 4-9pm. So, we arrived around 4:30 & put our name on the list for 3 people at 6:00. They honored our spot & the actual vibe is so fun! Feels very traditional, with blue walls, lots of hardwood & exposed beam ceilings! The painting & tapestry artwork they've chosen are great. Our waitress seemed very disheveled, kept returning to the table to tell us they were out of things & ended up mixing up items on each of our tickets & had to re-ring them up. The food is fine. We ordered Brussels sprouts, a chicken salad & a burger. Nothing was special & on the whole, I'm not sure we'd visit again. But, it was fun while it lasted. read more

First time in for lunch for my husband and I. He ordered the tuna melt with fries. I ordered the burger. I try not to be that person but I'm extremely picky about my burger. I asked for no garden (no lettuce, onion, tomato or pickle). And then I advised I only wanted the meat, cheese and bread. Our food came. I took a bite of my burger and was like there's something else on here. Took another bite and then a 3rd bite. I had cut my burger in 1/2. I couldn't pry the bun away from the cheese and burger I as eating. So I checked the other 1/2. Looked like mustard to me. Asked the hostess to get our waitress. Our waitress told me that was their Route 66 sauce. She went back to the kitchen and very quickly I had a new burger. It was very awesome. We will be back. It's a very cool building. Walked in for Saturday Brunch. Immediately was greeted and seated! The décor was lovely and enjoyed seeing the Sapulpa history on the walls. We decided to taste and share some items. The Chicken and Waffles were my favorite. Cooked to perfection and flavorful. The Breakfast Burrito with sausage and bacon was absolutely delicious. The Loaded toast was a table favorite and so fresh! The Brunch Burger did not disappoint as it had so much flavor and goodness. Seasonal Hash had fresh veggies in a creamy sauce. The potatoes as a side were so good. Cooked well and crispy. Loved the taste of all the dishes we ordered. This restaurant is a must see and enjoy when traveling through Sapulpa, OK. This is the hidden gem of Sapulpa! We were turned on to this place by a family member and glad to try it out. We have both been buy here several time and never noticed it before. After trying it though, we were mad we hadn't found it sooner! This is a little slice of southern hospitality in a restaurant setting. The interior is very authentic with the wooden coffee bar on one side and the old school soda shop ice cream bar on the opposite site side of this 100 year old building. Everything down to the chairs is right out of the south. Kudos to the designers for nailing this one! The food menu is small but elevated. With chicken, steak or salad to suit your needs. We had the spinach artichoke dip for starter and were amazed at the fresh taste. For dinner we had the top sirloin and the portobello chicken. I would put the cooking against any steak house in town as this was fabulous. For dinner we had the oreo cream brownie pie, it was to die for, with some house roasted coffee. Little fact - they have a French coffee roaster in house with 3 blends of coffee they also sell. We will definitely be coming back frequently as this place is amazing! read more

My husband and I stopped in for lunch last week for the first time. The atmosphere was really nice. Definitely fits the vibe of a small town restaurant. Everything was very clean and as we got there shortly after opening there were only a few tables occupied including a large group in the back of the restaurant. This would normally have no impact on my review but as these tables were incredibly close to the restroom when my husband went to wash his hands, the entire group were staring at him as he walked in and out of the restroom which he stated was very off putting. Our server was sweet and very pleasant to deal with. My only ding would be that I asked if a menu item included an ingredient and she told me it did not but after ordering, I discovered it did. Thankfully, this was a preference and not an allergy. Since the lunch menu isn't very large, I would expect the servers to have this information or perhaps check with the kitchen in cases where they aren't sure. The menu was small but had a decent offering for lunch. My husband ordered the smash burger with a garden salad. He liked the burger and said the salad was fresh but did not like the house ranch. He was expecting typical ranch but it was not. I tried it and liked it so I would say try it before you pour it on your salad. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich with fries and an extra side of Mac and cheese for us to share. The sandwich was very tasty but I do wish either the croissant was toasted or the chicken cut in smaller pieces as it fell apart very quickly after the first bite or two. Fries were great. The Mac and cheese had great flavor and I loved that they put extra cheese on top and broil it. Unfortunately, the noodles were over cooked and caused the texture to be one note. A breadcrumb topping could have helped. Although the ala carte price seemed a little high for this item, it was a hefty portion. We will definitely be going back to try the dinner menu. read more

Great price, delicious flavors right in the heart of Route 66. If you go hungry, it's your own fault! We stopped in on an incredibly busy night during the Christmas Chute and the front was nice enough to check us in, take our phone number and call us when a table was available so we could enjoy the event. My family and I went to the Grand Opening last night, and had a great experience save for a few things! First off, the space is absolutely beautiful. All of the details in the decor are really well done. We were sat quickly, as it wasn't overly busy at the time we went. I ordered the Steak Frites, my wife ordered the Succotash with Grilled Chicken as well as the Spinach Artichoke Dip appetizer. We asked about options for children since it's clearly a family friendly establishment, but were told there were no kid-friendly options. We went ahead and ordered the bison burger with fries so at least our son could eat the fries, I noticed another family near by seemed to be in a similar situation. Hopefully, a couple of child friendly options will be added to the menu soon! The food arrived quickly and we started eating! The steak was tender and full of flavor with the demi glacé on top. I will admit the plate seemed a bit simple and could have used something to elevate it a bit, but it was delicious none the less. The succotash was good if a little under seasoned. Also could have used some detail/garnish on the plating. My wife and I both tried the bison burger and it was delicious. The onion jam really took it over the top. The only dish we were disappointed by was the appetizer. The flavor of the dip was good, but the cheese on top was tough and rubbery, and the texture of the dip was a bit grainy and paste-like rather than creamy as we expected. After dinner we took care of the check and went over to the ice cream counter to order. We tried so many flavors and every single one was delicious! Truly a great way to end the meal. I also have to note that every staff member was exceptionally nice and helpful and that is always a big deal! You can tell the have a good team working there.
