We were on a road trip to Southern Oklahoma and I had heard about Cafe 75 many times and follow them on social media. They are known for offering gluten-free food but I am not sure if their whole menu is gluten-free. This was a perfect opportunity to try it out since it was a week day. We arrived for an early dinner so it was not busy at all. It was really quiet inside since it wasn't busy but I can only imagine how fun it is during their busy times. They are not open Saturday and Sunday. It is a small location but easy to find. As we stepped inside we were a little lost as to what to do first, wait for a hostess, find a table and wait to order or walk up to the small counter area to order. My husband asked and we were instructed to order then find a table to sit. I love a good Chicken Fried Steak so I already knew what I was going to order. It came with mashed potatoes and of course, gravy, plus a roll. It would be nice if another veggie was offered to off-set a carb heavy meal. My husband ordered the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes, green beans and roll. He later noticed a very tiny sign next to the register advertising pot roast and was a little disappointed he didn't see that first. Pot roast is his favorite. For dessert, he thought he saw coconut creme pie in the cooler but it was lemon meringue which he is not a fan. He settled on the pecan pie cheesecake that we shared. It was a surprisingly great pie. All of our food was great and exceeded our expectations. We would like to come back again so he can try the pot roast and I will order the CFS again. I'd been craving a good chicken fried steak, and since this spot gets so much buzz, my mom suggested it so I had to see what the hype was about. Mounds, OK is a tiny town, so the restaurant is easy to find, and just as small and charming as the town itself. Come early or expect a wait during busy times. The food is homemade and delicious. You can go all‑in with the giant chicken fried steak or opt for a half order, and the sides are solid across the board. Prices are very reasonable for the portions you get. I wanted to give this place 5 stars, but one thing held me back. The person I assume was the owner checked on every table around us...both sides and across the room...but skipped ours entirely, a couple of times. It was disappointing because I was excited to mention I was visiting from out of town (which was obvious by my appearance) and genuinely loved the food. Hopefully it was just an oversight and nothing more. So, 4 stars from me. On a positive note, the wall of donated meal tickets for anyone in need is such a thoughtful touch. I ordered the daily special, Pot pie (7.99) with a slice of the choc sheet cake (3.79) Husband had the Chicken Fry (15.99) that we heard about from "Only in Okla show". Sides of potatoes and Okra. Also slice of Pecan cheese cream pie (3.79). First as we are sitting waiting for our food order...... I just had to eat my cake! Was so good. Not many make this anymore. We saw this place on a local newscast. A short drive from Jenks we decided to visit. I must say, we will be back soon. A half portion of chicken fried steak was perfect and delicious. With a slice of pie we left with a smile on our faces. Luv'd the decor for a such a small place and the atmosphere was perfect for a country town. My family and I are from Arizona and we flew into Tulsa to meet up with some family. Before making it to Oklahoma, we had requested that they find the best chicken fried steak around. We hadn't had chicken fried steak in years and have been dreaming of it since. It's safe to say when we showed up at Café 75 all of our expectations were met. We were absolutely blown away by the chicken fried steaks and the chicken fried chicken when they came out. We all ordered a half size except for the chicken fried chicken and that thing ended up being massive! Everything was absolutely fantastic and they even added my boat of gravy to the side as I requested! The side of fried okra, mashed potatoes, and bread rolls were phenomenal as well. Ever since we've made it back home my whole family has been thinking about these steaks, nonstop, and we need to plan our next visit. The service was also fantastic and the lady working the register was so nice. The ambience of the restaurant was cute as well as they had a lot of vintage trinkets and decor along with a wall of locations from everyone who's visited. For the food, definitely 5 stars. The chicken fry is huge-even the half portion-and perfectly seasoned and cooked. Mashed potatoes are the real deal. My daughter had the crunchy fried okra with her meal. We took leftovers home and I wad impressed to find that the okra was still crunchy the next day. And I could have sworn it was regular and not gf...it was so moist and so delicious!! Reminded me of my childhood. My mom used to make it. If you can get there...it's worth it. I finally stopped in to Cafe 75 in Mounds, OK for lunch. It is a little tight spaced for seating but they do have room. I got the chicken fried sandwich with fries and sweet tea. It was a tasty sandwich with just the right amount of mayo. My wife got the Country Burger which is an open faced burger covered with white gravy and fries on the side. The service is quick and the wait staff are friendly. When you go, you'll get a chance to meet Kyle, the owner and one who will take the time to get to know you. While we were there they were busy with customer orders as well as many carry out orders. It is great to see the town of Mounds getting a nice restaurant. They are staying busy. I make the trip from DFW to Mounds just to eat at this restaurant! The food alone speaks for itself. Agree with another reviewer who wrote about Kyle (the owner) being a super friendly and welcoming host. This is small restaurant in an even smaller town, so get there early. Additionally, their food is excellent, particularly their chicken tenders which are ENORMOUS and tender. They can make most of their menu gluten-free, if needed. (Kyle's wife is GF) Our daughters are both GF (celiac) and they loved the tenders and the grilled cheese. My father in law and nephew ordered regular (not GF) and theirs was delicious too (chicken tenders - massive - and chicken fried steak). We really enjoyed ourselves and will be back! read more
