We actually didn't use or sign w them, but I'm leaving this review because they door-to-door sales guy was SO persistent and fast talking that it made us super uncomfortable. He kept saying we can save money if we sign now because our neighbors have signed up, turns out he was just blowing smoke and using their names only because he'd learned their names from his door-to-door selling. He also kept raising safety fears (did you know hobo spiders can kill you?!) as another sales tactic, and kept looking around to find wasp nests and spider webs to use as examples of what we should be afraid of. This has to be the worst company in existence. I was approached by a door-to-door salesman who talked about their services and had his tech with him who was pointing out spider webs and stuff. I told him I was not interested at this time but maybe later in the year. He asked for my email address so they could contact me, so I gave it to him. A month later they schedule an appointment for service via email, which I said this is not a good time maybe next month. So next month they schedule an appointment via email which I didn't check because the email address I gave them was my spam email account I use for situations just like this. Well they show up and perform something on my house (we were not home). Next thing I know I get a bill for services I didn't sign up for. I ignore it since I didn't sign up for anything but the following month they returned again for service and I get another bill. I proceed to call Croach and explained to the person who answered that I never signed a contract and you keep coming to my house and spraying. She apologized and said that the techs shouldn't be coming out for service without a contract. She told me she would cancel the account and erase the charges. 2 months later I get another bill both email and in the mail. Emailed back saying I never signed a contract and that I don't owe them anything. She rudely explains that because they did services they can charge me for them even without a contract. WTF! Are you serious. How is that even legal. So if I don't pay within 5 days they are sending it to collections. I told them I'll see them in court if they did that. I haven't used this service but I just got solicited by two of their employees outside of my house right now. They look the part- very professional, but the moment they started talking I knew they were in for some trouble with me. I've lived in the PNW my entire life. I love it here. I've lived in this house for 35 years and spiders and me get along great. You're not selling me on this service regardless, but the way they came off was super low-rent and childish. Right out of the gate they started strong: "I don't know if you're a yelper, but don't go on yelp. they're bad. did you know they're getting sued for extortion?" oh geez. They started with claiming that everyone in our neighborhood was a customer and that I should be too. "sure...?" They told me that with all these trees out here there's a LOT of bugs. "yup." aren't you afraid of bugs? "nope." and they laughed that off as "haha, yeah neither are we!" They said that I might be okay with spiders, but what about your friends? I told him that my girlfriend hates them. "oh she does? well, she's worth $60 a month, right? I bet if you went with us she's kiss you on the mouth!" what the eff? Great sales pitch, buddy. Then they proceeded to walk around my house which, admittedly has a lot of cobwebs and spider nests. They told me this is no good. One of the guys crouched down to some webs on the ground and jumped up and screamed when he saw a spider. A grown man screamed at a spider he found outside, in ivy. A Man who's job it is to EXTERMINATE SPIDERS. Is this real life? I just openly laughed. He later tried to catch it and then jumped and screamed again when it tried to crawl up his pen he was using to poke it. They then tried to do the hard-sell, saying they'd be on my street in the next 2 days and they'd pencil me in. I said no thank you, i'll give you a call if I change my mind. On their way up my driveway a crow happened to fly over head and the same scared guy ducked down and quivered. "oh my gosh, I thought it was gonna poop on me". I would feel sorry for them if they weren't trying to take me for a ride. It felt like a bad candid camera skit. I may get someone to clean up around my house someday, or more likely I'll do it myself because home projects are rewarding when it's all your own work and sweat equity, but there has *GOT* to be a better service to go with than these guys. They said $60 a month, but then earlier said "2 services a month for $120" So right from the get-go there was some bait and switch going on. For $120, one stop at Home Depot and a free Saturday I could clean up my house real good. Thanks for the motivation guys. Also, I wont scream at spiders and birds. read more

Easily the worst salesperson of all time and as a salesperson myself I can say that confidently. The woman arrived at my doorstep at 8:45pm, heard my dogs barking, heard me say my son was sleeping upstairs so I needed to go, yet she kept talking. She bashed my current pest service without any respect for why I chose them or my satisfaction level, which is extremely high. I cut her off twice to say I needed to go inside and she kept talking, finally I couldn't take it and left mid sentence to go inside. Everyone I spoke to that works here was very nice. But that's pretty much the only positive. I live in a brand new house and signed up for a year of service (full bug service) from a door-to-door salesman, to prevent pests. My house is on top of a hill in a sparse neighborhood and not in an environment very prone to pests but I thought it would be a good idea just in case. It has almost been a year of service (my last service was scheduled for next week) and now I have ants in my kitchen. I called to cancel my service and told them it was because I had their service for prevention and it didn't work. Now I have to pay to take care of an infestation. The person I spoke to was very nice, but I was given the option of paying the cancelation fee or using the last scheduled service and paying for that. The cancelation was only $30 cheaper than the service. There didn't seem to be a concern that their service didn't work or any motivation to address it. I feel like I just payed hundreds of dollars this past year for absolutely nothing... They hung a bill on my doorknob every time so they must have showed up. Either nothing was done or their service is ineffective. You don't really want to give someone your money for either of those things. read more

Sad to see bad reviews for this company. Positive results and customer service are important to me and this company consistently provides both. My experience in the previous (almost) two years has been 100% positive. My home has been completely free of bugs. For some unknown reason, at the last service, I asked the tech to check the upstairs balcony. He told me there was a wasp nest I'd been unaware of. He removed it, saying to call if there were any further problems. The next month there were three more small nests. I called Croach and a tech was back promptly. Yesterday we moved items in our garage to paint and, for the first time, are finding spiders. I became concerned today and called David. He is amazing: personable, professional and obviously cares about his work. He was at my home by the end of the day. I can't possibly find anything to criticize with Croach. Billing is automated and easy, the office staff impeccably professional, helpful and just plain enjoyable to speak with. Best of all, I am able to live in an insect free home at a reasonable price! I was very skeptical if someone walking through my neighborhood would be a scam or legit. I realize that telephone calls don't work any more for businesses, I don't answer, neither does anyone else. I signed up for a year of service, NOTE: you can't cancel for a year, and the rep told me this verbally. However, that is actually okay, because it takes 6 or 7 visits to actually control insects, wasps, spiders, rats and mice. Anyone that thinks it takes two visits is wasting their money. Add up the visits in your head and figure if you want the problem solved for that amount. The guys came out on the first visit and spent an hour just pulling down wasp nests, webs, and spraying. They even got the wasp nests off the roof, about 7 of them. They crawled under the house and set traps, and put bait traps on the outside. 7 Days later an inspector was sent out, and he removed a big rat found in the crawlspace in one of their traps, and throughouly inspected the crawl space vents for about 40 minutes. He found where some past work from another firm hadn't fully sealed our space, they used just foam and there were still gaps. Yes, he wrote out a quote to do the work with screens and concrete, if we wanted it done. Yes, I want it done, that is why we have the problem. Then maybe next year I won't need this service. There was no charge for this inspection visit, it was covered in the first complete cleaning, spraying and baiting. Pest Free isn't a cheap service, it is about 15% more than my past company, but at this point they are more complete. We recently moved in to a new house and due to being next to greenbelt area, there were tons of spider web all across the house, both inside and outside. It really bothered me because one night, our kids were screaming because there was huge spider inside the house and I had to use broom to squash it. At this point, I was ready to hire professional pest control service. Coincidently, the next day a guy named Spenser showed up as I was playing at the front yard with my son, he asked if we had any pest problems. He quickly scanned outside of the house and spotted bee hives, and few more big spiders that I squashed the night before. He said they were hobo spider and is poisonous, so should not be messed with. Without much hesitation, I signed up for the service and technician would clean the spider webs all over the house, and guaranteed pest free in couple of weeks. Couple of days later, a technician showed up and started de-webbing from the garage. Maybe my expectation was too high, but he just de-webbed the large ones and missed many medium sized ones and did not pay much attention to the details. I also asked him to de-web inside the house but he said it is not his job to do inside. That was a big surprise as I was told when I signed the contract, that the technician would get rid of the spider webs both inside and outside. Next, he sprayed the pest control solution around the house but it was very poorly done with many missing spots. After about 10 mins inside, he said he was done and would de-web out side . For about 20 mins or so, he did the outside but again, missing small to medium sized ones. After spraying the solution all around the house, he was done and ready to leave. I later realized that he missed spraying the solution in the garage. After he left, I took out vacuum cleaner and started de-webbing the inside with it as I was told inside was not part of the service. So overall, I was pretty disappointed with the service and wasn't sure if I wanted to continue the service through Croach and called Spencer to give the feedback on the initial service. He was really sorry that I got such an unsatisfactory service and promised to send another technician who's more experienced. Few days later, another technician showed up, named Levi. He was very polite, friendly, and sincerely apologizing for what I went through and he pretty much redid everything. The level of detail that he went into was amazing and he got rid of all the webs in the garage and outside of the house. It took him nearly 2 hours to perform and you could feel that he was doing his best to do his job right. I have not met such a professional and friendly young man in many years and I was so delighted that he came out to re-do the work. He definitely fixed the issue I had from the initial service and exceeded my expectation. I am confident that bugs will be gone soon and was glad that I chose right company. Alta saw the No Soliciting sign, acknowledged it verbally when I pointed it out, and tried to pursue it after I asked them to leave. Croach saw the sign, said hello, and kept walking. Croach came to our 3 acre rental property today and did an amazing job getting the creepy crawly population on the house down to nothing. They will spend the lease amount of time possible at your house and tell you to just wait. We had a technical come to our house and he was literally in the house for about 3-5min max. He left 2 bedroom downstairs doors open, he wrote on his report that he couldn't do the exterior because of the weather yet he left the doors open. Over the next couple of weeks we still had aunt problems, but we're told that it could take couple of weeks. This morning we had a ton of ants, even in other rooms next to the one he treated (if he did). Calling today to see if we could get anyone back today we were told no, then asked if we could do first thing tomorrow morning and we're told no again. read more

We had a POSITIVE lengthy discussion and most of my concerns were concluded to my satisfaction. Because of this personal contact and discussion, I believe the company is making an asserted effort to be more forthcoming when conducting their sales and addressing complaints. Because of this, I've upgraded my review stars to 3. It is my hope that the company will continue to place their focus on customer service and disclosure. DO NOT EVEN LET THESE PEOPLE IN YOUR DOOR. BBB rating is a "C"! Like others on here, Holly misrepresents their services. She got me on the day I was moving in, I told her no the first two times and (my bad!) I let her keep talking. She never told me I was signing a contract, never told me about the cancellation fee and told me she would discount the services by $10/month which was untrue. Called each month & was told I'd be refunded the over charge (never was). Wasn't until I threatened to cancel that I was told "this price couldn't have been offered to you because we never go that low". Also, I work from home and the last two times the pest guy never even tried to contact me in order to get inside the garage to replace the bug traps - as mentioned by so many others here. Very unprofessional and lack customer service. Signed up for their annual service contract and was scheduled for service the next day. Company did not show up. I had to call and see what happened. They said that one of the workers did not show up and that I had to reschedule. I was mad because I wasted my day waiting for them and I had to call them to see what happened. I understand that things happened but I should not have to call them. As a service provider they should have called and let me know so I wouldn't have waited and wasted my day. At that point I asked to cancel my contract. I do not want to do business with a company that does not respect the customers time. What would happen if they couldn't come out and spray during the year? Would I always have to call and chase them down. NO THANK YOU!!! I do not want to do business that does not respect the customers time. All they had to do is called and let me know what was going on. The manger that I spoke to was rude and could careless. I posted this review the other day, but somehow... it has disappeared. So, I will retype what I saved in a screenshot: This business scammed my elderly mother for a full year. The "bimonthly" treatment never included the very basic, and one would assume FIRST, step of blocking off the obvious entry points where rodents were entering the crawlspace. An inspection when we put her house on the market revealed this negligence. Last date of "service" was 5/31. By mid-June, rodents were back in the crawlspace. Trying to get any information from the office about what the company actually DID service has proven next to impossible. And trying to get my mother out of the service was also a battle involving several emails and phone calls--even though she was moving into assisted living and no longer at that address. If I could give the company zero stars--especially after reading about other people's experiences--I would. After posting this review, "Angela T.," whose reassuring responses to reviewers with complaints are ubiquitous, wrote, "we are so sorry to hear this has been your experience. If you would please send us a message with your mother's information and someone from upper management will reach out to you to see how we can make things better." Well, Angela, I wrote an email several days ago, and no one "reached out." My mother's realtor told me to "call and let the company know what is going on and that you expect them to come out immediately to repair all access points and set new traps - for free." This certainly seems reasonable, but I doubt it will happen. I'm bracing myself to make a phone call and spend a long time on hold, as usual. I have posted on the Nextdoor app to be sure none of my neighbors fall for the Croach sales pitch. We have used croach services for over 3 years when I moved into a home with a lot of scary spiders (think tarantulas ;) ). We never had any issues with service or billing. Whatever they use was very effective and we had very little or any bugs inside and limited outside since we started. The solution they use is safe for kids and animals so it makes it very convienent and gave us a piece of mind. We recently moved and are setting up service to resume at our new house. Just as an FYI- they are not for short term subscribers. They charge a cancellation fee if you cancel service less than a specific amount of time. I don't remember how long because when I cancelled we were well past any early cancellation time frame. read more

I'm really not sure what all of the fuss is about. As a consumer of any contract or services, it is your responsibility as the end user to review and understand what you are signing and agreeing too. Yes, that also means cancellation terms. If you take issue with something of have a concern, ask. With that said, I recently had them come out to treat our new home. Everything was completed as described. The two technicians that came out were on time, friendly, informative and professional. They explained what they were doing as they went through the process and what to expect as this was the first "flush out" treatment. I will update this review after our next follow up service to make sure I just didn't get "lucky". Personally, I have no issues with them so far. read more

Not impressed with the service. I had a scheduling problem with them very early in the process. During the second month I had a contractor/handy-man, working on my house, notice two hornet nests under an eave. My contractor took care of it with an eight dollar can of hornet spray from Home Depot. I was dissatisfied enough to terminate my contract early and pay their outrageous penalty. So I should begin this by saying...they fixed our rat problem. As far as I can tell their methods work. The issue we had, was that what we were promised by the saleslady (Tanya) and what we received were VASTLY different. When she came to our door, she told us it would be $200 up front to deal with our rat problem. That included the initial visit, and a follow up consult. She SPECIFICALLY said that if we wanted to terminate service at that point, we could just walk away. No extra charges. I thought, "Why not? $200 seems reasonable to avoid getting in my crawlspace with the man-eating rodents that are living down there." So we signed up. 30 days later (after finding out we were expecting twins) I called to cancel, as we just needed to cinch up our budget wherever possible. They told me I couldn't cancel! And that if I wanted to cancel there would be an additional $100 fee! They said I had signed the contract, and so I needed to pay. Being a man of my word, I paid, but my wife and I felt totally lied to. We should have read the whole contract...but honestly...who does that? I felt like we could trust what the sales lady promised...my mistake. The people were very friendly and professional, but were more concerned with getting that early cancellation fee than having a happy customer or maintaining their company's integrity. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Way too expensive for the horrible service and the poor customer service. I signed a 1 year agreement like many people writing reviews here. The first service that was done right when I signed the contract was excellent, but it went downhill right after that. The next visit was going to take place three months later. Without my input the company scheduled the appointment based on their convenience. The only sign of their visit was a paper they left saying they performed a service. I am not sure what exactly was done because I was not at home. Therefore, no spraying inside of the house or the garage. I even discovered a dead mouse in one of the garage traps, but of course, it was not removed because I was not at home when the service was performed. I called them explained that I wanted to be contacted to schedule the appointments, but that never happened. The other appointments were scheduled by the company without my input and at the most convenient time for them. I just spent more than 30 minutes talking to their customer service because I was informed that the company was going to remove the equipment (Mouse Traps) immediately. I explained to them that I signed a one year contract and I had 4 weeks remaining. The customer service representative continued to argue that since I was not renewing, they were done upon completing the last quarterly service. I pulled my contract and it says "This agreement is for an initial period of 12 Months". Customer service continued to argue their point by saying that it was company policy. I asked him to send me the policy and my signature acknowledging that. Of course, since he could not provide that, he got upset and made an appointment for the day after my contract was over to remove the mouse traps. That is all that I was asking, to have the company to honor the period of service they promised. Obviously this was too hard for them to do. We've been very happy with their service. Today they did an inspection of our attic and it gives us peace of mind that there were no pests. In addition, the tech suggested places that COULD welcome pests and suggested how to close them up. When the techs come for regular service, they have always been courteous and thorough. Not only was this company extremely pushy with their contracts and selling tactics, but after using them for exclusion work for rodents, we recently found out that they completely ripped us off with the work that we did agree to. We had another local company come to spray for spiders and they inspected the 'work' that Croach had supposedly done. They didn't follow industry standards, missed huge entry points and massively over charged us for them not even doing the job they promised to do. I had this firm do my pest control for nearly two years. I was home one day and one of their techs came to my home stayed in his truck and wrote out a Bill and service call report. He walked around my home and might have changed the bait in a station or two bit was not on my property more than 5 minutes. The report said he did about 8 pest control activities. I fired them that afternoon. I hired another firm and they came to my home today and spent 2 hours. Found rats, mice, several mud hornets nests and lots of pest activity. On 6/21/2012 a sales rep (Brandon Johnson Ph. # 435-671-6929) showed up at our new house. He was greeted by my wife. She told him multiple times we were not interested and that our house was already sprayed by the previous owner. The sales rep, Brandon, continued to harass her trying to sell products such as spider control. She told him that she does not want to hear anything about it since she is severally frightened of them. He used that information to continue on talking about the spiders as scare tactic. She finally had to tell him that she would have to deal with me (Brian, her husband) when I got home from work. He would not leave she had to close the door on him. Later that evening around 6:30pm, Brandon showed up again, this time to talk to me. I told him 5 times I was not interested in his service. Each time I got more aggressive in telling him no and that he is to stop trying to sell me a service I do not want, I used verbal communication and put my hand up telling him to stop. He did not stop I had to slam the door shut for him to leave. This is a very aggressive sales tactic and very unprofessional. No-one should have to slam the door in a sales rep's face to get them to leave! read more

I used Croach last July 2017 to get rid of bees that were under my house. They first claimed the cost $325 would include three visits, which it eventually did but I had to argue with several phone calls to make the second and third visit happen. Before the 2nd and 3rd visits they were sending me threatening collection notices. (nice) Now one year later I have another company doing maintenance under my home and they report the Vapor Barrier is cut open and hanging. This means that the Vapor Barrier has been open all winter and I did not know it because I am disabled and could not possibly get under my home so who knows the damage that has been done with this Vapor Barrier open all winter? I call Croach today to ask why they left it just cut open and hanging and they tell me that yes the worker did cut open the Vapor Barrier to remove the bees-nest but nope they don't ever repair the Vapor Barrier after they cut it open. They asked me to send them pictures but they don't intend to repair what they ripped open so why would I pay someone to go under the house? This is so frustrating and from day one this company has been about nothing but collecting their $325. If you do use them you do so at great risk. read more

We were new home buyers in Redmond WA. For a year, we were using a different pest service and the experience with them was not good.
