Very disappointed with how this company handled a referral agreement. Josh Star and his boss, Chris, clearly promised a full year of free service if I referred 4 new customers. The structure was explained as: * 1 referral = 25% off * 2 referrals = 50% off * 3 referrals = 75% off * 4 referrals = 100% free service for one year They also told me that if I referred 4 more (8 total), I would receive a second year of free service. To help me get started, Josh even paid for my first appointment using his own credit card. I successfully provided 4 referrals -- but once I hit that number, they changed the story and claimed I now needed 5 referrals for the free year. After that, they stopped responding to calls and messages entirely. Later, I found out my account was frozen and the cancellation fee had been removed without notice. I contacted customer service multiple times and was promised a call from management -- no one ever followed up. Josh and Chris benefited from all my referrals and then backed out of their promise. This is unprofessional and dishonest. Would not recommend this company, especially if you're being offered referral-based incentives. Be very cautious. read more

We've used Croach for almost a year. The tech that comes to house is friendly and knowledgeable. The problem we have with Croach is that they make you sign a contract for service for a year or more. They visit your house a minimum of 4 times per year. I am not interested in having a pest control company come to my house 4 or more times a year. Three times per year is ample. We will be breaking our contract and paying the fee. I don't do contracts with pest control companies. The woman at the call center was very rude on the phone. We will be looking for another pest control company and competitor to Croach to service our house without using a contract. read more

This place is such a scam. I called to get my account cancelled and instead forward me to sales to try and renegotiate. The account manager told me that he would forward my inquiry for cancellation to the accounting department. What they fail to tell you once you cancel the account, any payment information will be deleted and you will be left with an outstanding balance in which you have to call in a second time to pay it off. Their goal Is to get the cancellation payment and the late fees. Croach Pest control more like a pest themselves. read more

We have been using Croach since we moved into our home about 6 years ago. They come out quarterly to do their normal thing and always show up when they say they're going to. Additionally, we've had to call them several times in between our regular service (once for wasps, once for ants in our house, once for mice in our garage) and they have always been able to come out quickly and fixed our issue to our satisfaction. After having the same technician for several years (he has left the company), today was our first experience with CJ. We had two mole hills when we called croach. They do NOT try and catch your moles or hardly try to kill them for that matter. They bait them with worms and all it does is create more mole hills. They also told me it's illegal for them to trap the moles, yet I am finding plenty of other legal companies in Washington who will trap or kill moles. Our problem is now much worse after we spent $250 with croach. Would not recommend specifically for mole problems. read more

I had been using Croach for a year and I tried to cancel my account and services, they said I had signed a 2 year contract, which I was unaware of. I told them I wasn't happy with the service and they charge me the remainder of the contract and then continued to come to my house and spray during the day when I was at work. I called and told them I had canceled and they said ok, we will only bill your card one more time for this extra service after the contract ended. I said no, I didn't agree to the service and I won't pay. They said, well we came out and sprayed, so you have to pay. They got extremely rude and sent me to collections. read more

I signed up for recurring service every 3 months 3 years ago. This costs me $50/month, autopay; these guys come here on schedule every 3 months, they spray everything, and place traps, concentrating on obvious areas. He always asks and addresses any concerns I have. One time I called in between services, for a huge wasp next in my tree, the size of a basket ball, and 3 of them came within 24 hrs and knocked it down and cleaned everything up. They know their business and go far beyond what's expected. I'm so impressed. Recurring service is the way yo go. You won't regret it. I'm now on year 3, and the people in the office are always there, and just as nice and helpful. These guys really know how to run a business. read more

We have had Croach covering our home to keep rodents and insects out. They have always done a fantastic job, without "bugging" us by ringing the doorbell or knocking. They come, they treat, and they leave very quietly. Recently my husband identified mole damage, so he had me call them to add in mole treatment to their next trip out to our home. They did add in the mole treatment and have been treating for the moles without destroying our little tiny yard. No more moles, no more rats, no spiders. Another warning to AVOID Croach! Even Yelp Elites get had! We had a bad rat problem and it's actually gotten worse since Croach has been here over the past 3 months. They were just in the crawlspace; now they're in the kitchen. The technicians are very polite, smiling but they do shoddy work and when you call to complain, they're apologetic on the phone, but that's it. Nothing is ever done about escalating situations. Even I know that mouse traps are too small for rats! C'mon! Worst of all, they're INCOMPETENT. The rats are in our ductwork, so when bidding to clean out the crawlspace, they failed to notice this. Another contractor saw it right away, provided me with photos and I crawled down there to verify. How could Croach miss this? They're lazy and incompetent. I've been trying to call a Manager and discuss all of this for a couple of days now and have been assured I'd receive a call back the same day, I haven't heard a peep from them. I doubt I will. The $110 to service them per service is steep. When I tried to end the service not once but twice they put me on hold and had me wait and wait and wait. I finally hung up on them. This is so far the WORST customer service experience I have ever had. The company have a horrible management and First of all, they have a very aggressive young woman (the bug girl) going door to door offering their services and she LIES, I repeat, she LIES about what kind service they offer, about the contract fees and penalties, and tries to schedule the service right away so you do not have time to read and discuss with your family about it. Once you sign up, she never answers the phone again. If she ever knock your door, don't bother to answer it. After their services, the spider were appearing more and more inside my house and I tried to contact her many times. She never answered or returned any of my calls. When I tried to call the office, it was always on the answering machine, meaning, they just answer or call you back when they want to. I canceled the services within just 2 months and had to pay $200 fee, which is more than one visit price. We paid the total of over $500 for a cheap and crap services. When my husband called wanting to cancel the services, they agreed right away. No questions asked. I guess it is even better for them They get the extra money without having to offer any service. Bravo!! Then today, they had the audacity of sending me an email survey asking how was the service/ You got to be kidding me right? I admit it was my fault not to fully read the contract, but believe what the seller told me and not to check here on Yelp and see hoe horrible reviews they got. Am updating to reflect that I emailed Croach on Thursday June 28th and asked them to cancel our service. I received a phone call a few hours later, asking me about our issues. I was told that the info I gave would be passed on. After our phonecall, I received an email stating that per my request, my acct would be placed on hold. I responded back immediately that I did not want the account on hold -- I wanted to cancel my service. I received no reply. I have sent 2 more emails in the days since, stating that I wish to cancel my service and requesting that they confirm receipt of the email. No replies. I don't write many reviews, but I am compelled to do so tonight. I had a previous pest control company that I don't think ever came by and swore I wouldn't sign up for one again.....but I did. I found Croach. My periodic maintenance calls, I have always gotten notification of their scheduling, and calls on day of the service to inquire if I was going to be present so they could do the interior work, the report at the end of the call, etc. etc. etc......all was good. The house has been looking great. Then I got had a rodent issue and things went sideways. I was not happy with the level of professionalism and thoroughness I was getting for the money I was spending. The two gentlemen doing the work was in and out in too little of time for the money were were paying and gave me and my wife some attitude. The others I worked with to find resolution were absolutely incredible to deal with. David was a great representative and he cared that we got what we were paying for. Sheryl in the office rocked! And then I got the supervisor and Service Director and then Owner.....all to visit with me, understand my concerns and expectations. They came back out and re-did the work. I was and am incredible impressed with how they listened and responded. I am a happy customer of theirs for many years to come. As with many types of businesses, there will always be small bumps in the road - it's a matter of how we handle them and take care of our responsibilities. Croach did that for our family. I've used the company for years, and am honestly quite happy. There have been a few little snafus in those years, but overall, it's been smooth sailing. The technicians are friendly and patient. I thought I could handle any rodent issues that came up in our new home (a new build, in the woods), but the night I heard a mouse in my attic, right over the master bedroom....I was done. I called Croach the next morning. Their exclusion work was great, and the issue is all but gone. We have an ongoing service agreement, which works for us. I interviewed a few companies before deciding to use Croach in my new home (we used them for about 4 years previously), and they won by virtue of being the most creative and thorough - they knew how to plug up holes that for some reason made other technicians just shrug and grunt. read more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM CROACH!!!!!!! I signed a 1 year agreement thinking these guys would do what they said they would. They were suppose to clean and set new traps in my garage every quarter, this happened the first visit only. They were to inspect my crawl space twice a year. Again this only happened the first time. The last visit per my contract, I worked from home and my entire family was present. Never saw a Croach employee on my property. They didn't knock on the door to inspect garage or crawl space, nor did they walk the perimeter of my home to clean webs, inspect overhangs or lay down a ground barrier. I called them multiple times only for them to say our schedule was full. DON'T BELIEVE THEM IF THEY SAY THEY WILL REDO ANY UNSATISFACTORY VISIT. I have used two different pest controls come to my house and this one has been the best customer service thus far and has gotten rid of our sugar ant problem. We have lived in this house for 4 years now and sugar ants (i.e. order less house ants) have always been an issue and a pain to get rid of ! They have done a fantastic job and every since we have started using them the problem has gone down and our sugar ant activity has decreased. I also appreciate their customer service willing to work with my budget and what I can afford and their Technicians are very friendly and knowledgeable. I fell for their discounted initial service, when they were in the neighborhood, and claimed that yellow jackets were nesting in nearby homes. They did point out that some yellow jackets were already buzzing around my roof eaves. They claimed that before the next quarterly visit, if there were any pest issues, I can call them and they would 'top up/supplement' the pest control. Well, a month after the initial service in May 2017, they emailed me to set up the first quarterly service in June! This June service would be the first of four quarterly services. Net, within 12 months, I would have been subjected to FIVE payments. This is one more payment than previous pest control firms that charge 4 times during a 12 months period Fortunately, I resisted providing my credit card, and insisted that I would just provide a check for the initial service. In addition, I did not sign their agreement on their ipad, but their sales employee did so. I also recorded their sales employee on my smartphone that I could cancel any time without any penalty. My justification was that I wanted to see if their initial treatment was effective. My learning - never purchase a service at the door. Net, be forewarned. Update: 8/26/17 So, Croach called and tried to address my issue over the 4 quarterly payments, offering to do the June quarterly service without charge. I decided to stay with my cancellation, and the customer service rep agreed to cancel it and that would be the end of the matter. Subsequently, someone else called, and left a voice message that I needed to contact him to ensure the cancellation was in effect. I ignored that given the earlier customer service rep's assurance. Well, today, I received a letter asking me to pay $100 for the cancellation ('per service contract'), otherwise, they would send it to collection services. As I shared earlier, I did not sign their service contract. However, this latest tells you a lot about this company. I am changing my advice from 'be forewarned' to 'STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY'. Update: 11/6/17 Well, Croach has sent an un-subtantiated claim to a collections agency. And I just filed a consumer complaint online at https://fortress.wa.gov/atg/formhandler/ago/ComplaintForm.aspx It will be interesting to see how they can pursue this further without evidentiary documentation that has my signature on a contract. I had the misfortune of running into a lot of "pest control" salesmen lately. Whenever it's sunny, they pound the pavement in my subdivision pitching their services. They say they are "local" but their drivers license and phone number tell me otherwise. The second salesman I met today was from CROACH. Let's call him Mr "S.E." (initials) -- he says he's from Kirkland but he has a "208" area code (Idaho). The glad handing pitch is too cheesy and saccharine -- kind of like the sales people at my local Toyota dealership except, he's at my house at lunchtime unsolicited. And Mr S.E. won't take no for an answer. I get it, you have a quota -- but I told you from the get go that I wasn't interested. I explained to you why. So please move on. In Sammamish it's unlawful to go door-to-door without a city permit. I will complain to the city if they come back to my block next week. EDIT: I just scrolled the one-star reviews (all from Yelp veterans, by the way) and noted the onerous contract terms. Why am I not surprised with this company's M.O.? Also, why are all the five and four-star reviews from people who only write one or two reviews? I guess the lesson for me today is, LET BUYER BEWARE! read more

UPDATE: After talking to a high-up at the company, they "cleared my account" and I have not received another bill or call. They said they were "working on this issue" although based on reviews since then... well, you decide. ORIGINAL: Reps from Croach came to my house (in a brand new community) to sell their service "because they were doing a neighbor at the same time." I listened to the schpiel and told them I'd think about it after looking into it. They called me to tell me they'd be in the area a few days later and would put me on the schedule - WITHOUT me agreeing. After reading their paperwork re. use of poison for mice (a method I do NOT support) AND reading their reviews here and elsewhere, I texted one of the reps to tell him I did NOT want their service. As mentioned in other reviews, they APPARENTLY came anyway??? (I never saw anyone, they didn't leave anything, and there have been plenty of bugs since the alleged "treatment," so...?) I got a bill from them, and immediately texted the rep w/a pic telling him to make sure it was taken care of, along with a screen shot of me telling him I did not want the service. Nothing back. Today I got an email with a reminder to pay the bill. Instead, I filed a complaint with the BBB. read more

Croach is my pest control company and are usually attentive and have a very short response time --In the last two weeks, i have called a them 4 times but got their message system--I left a message four times and described our urgent pest issue--no one has returned our calls. I'm truly surprised because it's the first time this ever happened. I will email or call their customer service number tomorrow morning to see if I have any luck--then I'll move on like the rest you. REVIEW UPDATE: Just when we were ready to call another pest control company--Croach reached out to us via email and were very apologetic in regards to the time it took for us to finally reach them. I originally contacted Croach to repair damage to my crawl space by rodents. I paid them thousands of dollars to replace some Insulation and vapor barrier then contracted with them for rodent prevention. Each time they came out (charging hundreds) their report was no rodent activity. Today I had my home pre-inspected for sale and was told by the inspector that there was rodent activity and damage to the insulation I had paid them to replace. I called Croach and eventually got a return call from a manager who said this; "we are not responsible for rodent activity".... not sure why anyone would ever use these clowns but they don't give a damn about customers read more

I had to give it one star since I couldn't figure out how to issue a no-star review. Do not use Croach NW pest control. Poor service and horribly difficult to cancel. Plus final bill included an additional charge. While the initial bug control service worked fine. Their response to a major wasp breakout was terrible. Repeated calls only resulted in a guy coming out two days later and my use of commercially available sprays was very expensive and only minimally effective. When he finally came, he didn't even do the back deck! Problem with Croach NW pest we couldn't cancel the service without long repeated calling and harassment calls demanding a good reason to cancel. Phone calls lasted for over 10 minutes talking in circles without the guy agreeing to cancel the service for us! Repeated calls required me to block their number. Finally, when I got the cancellation letter from them they demanded a cancelation fee of $96 otherwise they would turn it over to a collection service! Don't use their service. read more

Croach displays a pattern of negligence in communication and workmanship. I have been babysitting them since day 1 of our contract. Details follow: I've been a Croach customer for 2 months (since July 25, 2017). The salesperson gave us the "in the area" pitch other reviewers have mentioned. He inspected our house, correctly noted wasp nests outside and mice nesting in the crawl space. I signed an apparently discounted one year contract at $60/mo with a $200 kill fee. The day after I signed, our first technician, Steven, did not know what he had come to do. I informed him of his duties, but he missed two wasp nests. I gave a poor review on my customer account, noting the sloppy, uninformed work. Croach called back, and the lady on the phone explained their workflow and methods, and was very knowledgeable. I emphasized the lack of professionalism from the technician, and that a higher standard is necessary. Our second technician, Tyson, knew what he was supposed to do, did a better job, but forgot to check our crawl space. I gave a review on my customer account, noting the improved service and asking for him to come back out and finish the work. I received a callback and the man on the phone recommended I have a crawl space evaluation, even though they already know I have mice in my crawl space, and they are already treating it. I tell him as much and request that someone come out to finish the job, and a return visit is scheduled. Meanwhile, the air quality in our house declines: all vents and some rooms have a dusty fecal odor. We seal them up with saran wrap and leave the windows open. Our air quality improved shortly. Tyson (whom I assume was the technician scheduled) is a no-show on date of appointment. There was no communication that he would not be there. I call immediately and leave a message asking where he is. I get a callback late that afternoon saying he had equipment malfunctions and couldn't make it. The lady on the phone says he can come back out in two weeks. I pressed for something sooner, and was eventually able to get a date the following Wednesday (call took place Friday). Our third technician, Matt, came on the scheduled date, refilled bait stations and reset the traps in the crawl space. I asked him to check the nest in the insulation, but he was not aware of the nest*. I told him about it, and he checked it and noted the activity, set additional traps, and said he would arrange for further exclusion work (sealing holes/entry points), and that I would hear from them in a few days for scheduling. (*This was his second day on the job, so I forgave this and chalked it up to inexperience. Matt was otherwise great to work with.) The service seems to be slowly improving, but Croach does not seemed concerned with the quality of work they provide, and I do not have time to make sure each technician knows and does what they are trained and paid to do. I am now searching for a new pest control service and will be cancelling my contract as soon as this review is posted. Croach does not deserve your business. read more

So I would not give them your business, they are clearly negligent at the properties that they treat. This company lied to me multiple times. Told me things that were in direct conflict with their contract. Basically, my wife signed a contract with them, the contract ran out, and when I called, they said it would "automatically expire". Sure enough, I get an email for my next "scheduled appointment", and when I called asking them what the deal is, they said they required 30 days written notice. Paid their little cancellation fee and told them they are never welcome on my property again. This company also uses glue traps, which is a very inhumane way to catch and kill animals. Basically, any small animal gets caught in the thick glue and is stuck and starves to death. Horrible. Even after I asked them not to use glue traps, they continued to leave them. Congratulations, Pest free. You have my money, but you'll never have my business or a referral from me, ever. read more

I would give this company minus 5 stars if I could. I literally answered the door to the techs canvassing our neighborhood. Went ahead and signed up for service. We have a horrible ant problem living in the sumner valley. They were never able to take care of anything. I had to call and recall for them to come out and take care of the problem. Then there is the billing issues. When I signed up - I put my signature on an iPad allowing them to use the card then and for future services. ( quarterly ) except they wanted to schedule me 2-4 wks early every time. NOT ACCEPTABLE. They get more money out of you by consistently moving up service dates. Then when I tried to cancel , they said I signed a contract that basically said I had to notify them in writing 30 days before canceling. I contacted the owner via email and told him I'd be leaving a review with the BBB and Yelp. And basically what they were doing was fraud, because I allowed them to charge my card w a signature not sign a contract. He sent me a copy of the contract w my signature that was pasted from me signing my card on the techs iPad. I told him I was contacting a lawyer because that was DEFINITELY fraud ! The longest they were at my house was probably 15 mins. is my house any better than before? I don't think so (another sign telling me it was a bad idea to sign up) My landscape company comes when i'm not home, and they do GREAT job! 2. They got the contract WRONG! but again, that's a mystery. I emailed and asked when would my contract ended, the person emailed me with my contract and said, looks like May is your last one, so you have 5 services, not 6, the contract said 6, which isn't true, since they only do 5 services in quarterly contracts. i'm sorry about the confusion. So I took her words for it and thought it was May, and it would auto-cancel. now comes to August, and they send me a reminder saying they scheduled an appoint. I called and try to cancel but left voice mail. the person called me back and said, I can't make a decision, have to wait for the manager to call you back, then why bother? later a different person called me, and said, they still need to do the August one, since I signed up for 6 services and not 5!!!! They can cancel after that with a written notice. Well, since I am OUT OF MY CONTRACT per the last rep, why can't I cancel my service at ANYTIME? why do I have to do another service? and the person also went through my email conversation with the rep and said, there was no cancellation notices! NO ONE said you need 30 day written notice, even on contract, they said, just a written notice. and she didn't look at the email about only having 5 services ! NO WAY, since your last person said I had 5, in writing! I will not be doing this service! I will do another review after I talk to someone tomorrow about canceling service. I called this company to get an estimate for an issue that we were having, as their website says they give free estimates.
