    BBQ pork bahn mi
    Rachelle T.

I just found my new fave bahn mi spot! I did a short hike in the area and came across this spot since it was near by. Located in a plaza (with parking since it's next to Safeway) it's easy to simply walk past this place. The spot is pretty small, more like a quick pick me up for coffee and pastries, and there's a couple of seating inside. My bahn mi took a while to made, and it was absolutely WORTH IT. The difference is the bread. It was fresh, crispy, and made the pork extra delicious. The sauce made every bite sooo good and I honestly didn't want this sandwich to end! Definitely a hole in the wall, and truly made my day to find this place!

Pretty solid spot for pastries. Walked in as I was shopping at the nearby Safeway and wanted a sweet snack. Grabbed two donuts a sugar and glazed and of the two I would say the sugar had more flavor and crunch. These donuts are seriously fluffy and have height! The airy dough makes for a light yet filling dessert. We enjoyed our sweets at the nearby park, soaking in the sun and fresh air!

Did you know Creighton is Carol Burnett's middle name? Anyway, this is quite a little unassuming bakery cafe. It's not the type of place I would search high and low for, but to say it's anything less than serviceable would be just plain mean. I have a feeling most of their customers live within walking distance because they have that lived-in tone to their transactions with the seasoned woman behind the register. I come here not because I shop at this particular Safeway but because I usually need a bit of caffeine after scaling the depths of Glen Canyon. I usually end up at the backside of the strip mall and come in here to order the $4 Cafe au Lait (photo: https://bit.ly/3hKNUNn). This is the type of spot where the woman fills a medium cup a third full with a hot frothy milk and hands me the cup to fill the rest with whatever coffee they have on tap. Yep. Combo Vietnamese sandwich $10.50

I would almost give Creighton one star for selling really old cheesecake. We saw some individual red velvet cheesecake and since this is a rare flavor to find in cheesecake form, we were excited to try it. Once we opened up the container and took a closer look, something seemed off... and the taste proved it -- old, REALLY OLD, cheesecake. So old there was a strange taste and we couldn't eat more than a few bites. Also decided to try their banh mi Vietnamese sandwich -- combo cost $10.50 and is a seriously sad looking shortcut imitation... I can make a better version at home. There was hardly any pate and Vietnamese mayonnaise, so it tasted really dry and bland. There was way too much carrots and hardly any meat slices. Definitely not worth $10.50 Creighton is lucky there isn't much competition in the plaza. From the exterior, it looks promising but once you step inside, there are small details that should've clued me in to save my money. I also felt the boss lady could use some customer service skills. This store would be better off transitioning to a different restaurant. Unless you're desperate because the park is nearby, I would highly advise you go elsewhere

Walked by so many times and never been here until today was thinking clean and they have sweet Pastries but little too Expensive for me but i came get a sandwich was going to but the older Asian lady was very RUDE in rushing me and a person came and i told him go ahead not sure exactly what i would like. So when she was done i was asking about the sandwiches and i guess was too many because she got impatient with was just being rude and i wanted a sour dough they were out so i said nah just go Safeway guess she didn't like that cause she was saying RUDE stuff to me. Byeeeeeee! Next time someone comes in be a little nicer and especially now on what is going on in the world you want customers NOW! Thanks for reading my Review ~Lizzie~

    Creighton's Deluxe
    Nicole W.

After a late night, I needed something good to revive me the next morning. I got the Creighton's Deluxe sandwich (bacon, sausage, egg, and cheese) on an everything bagel. It was so tasty and did everything it needed it to do. This place is great because there's a whole parking lot so easy to run in and out and the service was friendly. Will definitely be back!

    Combo Banh Mi

Great coffee shop in Diamond Heights / Twin Peaks neighborhood! I always get a vanilla latte with a Banh Mi sandwich. If I'm not super hungry, their milk steamer with almond syrup is my go-to (I'm sure the other flavors are pretty good too). It's a nice clean family-friendly shop to make a pit-stop when your in the area.

The markup on the CostCo Pastries, Crescents she sells is crazy. Its better to walk a few yards and go to Safeway.

I really love a lox and bagel from here. It beats many of the trendy bagel places. Other sandwiches are good and the pastries are fresh.

Like everywhere else in SF, you have to pay for street parking but it's free after 6pm! The vibes inside are of a typical coffee shop and there is a good amount of tables and seats! The barista makes each drink one at a time, so it could take a while to order and get your drinks, but it just shows that they are very intentional with their drinks! I was super excited to find out that Ballast Coffee is actually a Filipino coffee shop that serves Barako Coffee, which I believe they source from the Philippines. They also sell barako bean roast blends for $20 in case you wanted to make it at home! Since they use Filipino barako beans, I had to order their Ube iced latte and Ube hot chocolate! The coffee had a slightly fruity yet chocolatey undertone that made it really delicious with the Ube! I do think that the coffee had a lighter taste to it, so it let the ube taste stand out more. My favorite was the Ube hot chocolate because it was super decadent and warming! I'll definitely be back at Ballast Coffee to study more and to also try their Ube Mocha as well as other drinks!

Java On Ocean Coffee is a classic San Francisco coffee place which has much more than coffee to order. There is a selection of savory breakfast items, sandwiches and smoothie!
