6 of us shared 3 sandwiches!
    Donna L.

My first time here. Very convenient to our house. We preordered and the 6 of us sat in their restaurant after Picking up. Ordered a hot pastrami with everything on it. It had a little Spice. Great sandwich to share on Dutch crunch. Sandwich was comparable to Freddie's sandwich in north beach but smaller than Little Luca's. Make sure you Check in on Yelp For free small bag of chips!

Tasty delectable toasted sandwiches made fresh to order at this great little sandwich shop. Friendly, enthusiastic service from the folks here every time! Located on Taraval Street in the Outer Sunset, one will find not just one, not two, but three different sandwich shops within a few blocks of each other. All are good and great at their own specialties, but I find myself returning to Grubbin' over and over again. Order by just calling them up on the phone, and walk or drive or catch the L-Taraval train/bus that stops right across the street from their front door. Skip those delivery apps that rip off small businesses like these.. I come here for my favorite sandwich that I save for special occasions - no, not for big events like birthdays or big anniversaries, but for those days when you either want to celebrate a bit or need a special treat after a long week.. Typical sandwich shop storefront vibe, with a couple of casual sit down tables and chairs inside, but most folks grab 'n go, as you would expect. My favorite here is the "Sweet Mouth Waterin'" Sandwich. Served on a crunchy yet soft on the inside Dutch Crunch Roll, the SMW is Grubbin's rendition of a non-spicy fried chicken sandwich with thick chunks of chicken breast meat dipped in batter and deep fried, accompanied with honey mustard and the standard sides (that come with all of their sandwiches of lettuce, tomato, onions, and their trademark "grub sauce" which I think is a little like "Thousand Island Dressing" perhaps.. put that all together and you've got a filling meal even before you get to your potato chips. Of course there are plenty of other meaty sandwich choices and all-veggie ones if that is more your speed. Tater tots too!! Also, the usual selection of Frito Lays chips are here, but their best chips are the Tim's Cascade Chips from the PNW.. Tim's Honey BBQ is awesome! Pro Tip: If you decide to become a regular here like me, be sure to get a rewards card that gets stamped for every sandwich you order from here. Once you have ten stamps, you get a sandwich of your choice totally for free - and gladly too!! A nice perk, and super when you are the one who orders up food for your friends/coworkers.. You'll get that free sandwich in no time! Proud to be a regular here! =). They still don't know me, but they are happy to fill my orders!

High 3 low 4. Guys were chill so overall a 4. I came on a weekday right when they opened Ordered the grubbin on Dutch but they ran out of bacon. MINUS 1 here. How can you not have bacon one of the more important ingredients in a sandwich? Taste - good, the aioli sauce makes the sandwich good or elsethe meats are a bit dry and no bacon (SMH)!! The Dutch sandwich has a slight hint of sweetness which was fine. Good price point for a filling sandwich

Was an amazing sandwich that I have for while. We will definitely come back for this beautiful place. Good service

Solid sandwich spot. Lots of metered parking. Inside, small spot without a lot of appeal. The service was fine. However, the real star here is the sandwich. Fresh bread, toppings of choice, and their special sauce. I had the Sweet Mouth Waterin Sandwich- which was amazing! Big juicy chicken tender surrounded by veggies, sauce, and French bread. We got our sandwiches and walked directly across the street to the park. Look forward to going back and trying more next time!

Beau and I were craving for some Pastrami sandwiches midweek and decided to do a quick takeout Doordash order from Grubbin' nearby. We've tried other local sandwich spots for their Pastrami sandwiches so it was natural for us to compare the quality. For the responsiveness they are to taking, processing and delivering our order, Grubbin' gets a 5/5. For the quality, it was more of a 3/5. Droolin' (Pastrami) Sandwich - 3/5 Using a super crispy Dutch Crunch roll, there's plenty of pastrami, provolone, and lettuce in this sandwich. It is a bit smaller than typical sandwich portions would be, I'd wish they have quantity options (ie: 6 oz or 12 oz). Great concept of Dutch Crunch with pastrami which still left us really full at the end but honestly the crunch roll was baked too crispy and hard. It wasn't a crispy smooth bite. The dressing to lettuce ratio was the perfect amount though. Chicken Tenders & Fries - 3/5 The fries were super nice and crispy which we liked. I think it had a little too much salt though. By the time we received the order, the saltiness had settled on the fries and the crispiness had made the fries feel overdried. The chicken tenders were fried perfectly. I just wish they came in a bigger portion. I'd often order chicken tenders from other locations paying about the same price and the portions were much more generous. For the price and convenience, Grubbin' isn't too bad of a spot to grab -and -go. However, there's definitely better pastrami sandwiches out there if you're willing to ay for an extra $1 -2.

Naked Wings, tater tots, Kickin and Droolin
    Jerry W.

Staff is friendly and helpful. The guy who took my order, Tony I think is his name, was informative, friendly and courteous. The entire staff was quick and efficient. I wanted naked wings so I can taste the batter and chicken. The wings were juicy and crispy... great combination... will order again. Tater tots were hot and crispy. Cooked perfectly My son ordered the Kickin. Roast beef, bacon with pepper jack and wasabi spread. He said it was awesome.. the sauce was "kicking it"... his words not mine. I got the Droolin. Salami, pastrami and pepperjack with spicy aioli. I just have to say it was really really good. My only complaint was it was messy... the Grubbin sauce just made it finger licking good... literally and figuratively.

I usually do not go out of my way to buy sandwiches but this place changed the game for me! It's a small shop so you have to do take out. The Meltin sandwich was flavorful and the perfect kick of spicy Crunchin Sandwich is vegetarian but it's so refreshing and good! The cucumbers add a nice crunch to it. Im usually a meat girl but was very impressed with this. Both sandwiches I got on a French roll (:

I was exploring some new sandwiches and I ran into this delicious sandwich place. I really enjoyed the chicken sandwich and it was very tasty. I will have to try their other sandwiches in the future.

I LOVE a good sandwich and Grubbin' most definitely does not disappoint. Their grubbin' sauce is garlicy and delicious. The Dutch crunch was a blast from the past of my childhood and the warmness of my sandwich is already making me debate when I can eat this again.

Good ratio of meat to veggie and there's options to add extra veggie/meat if you'd like at a cost. I will say the portion size runs slightly smaller but it was perfect for me! Meat was very tender #20 bbq pork with egg roll: huge portions, though a good amount of it was noodle, tender and flavorful meat. The highlight is definitely the fried egg roll! I'm usually not a fan of egg rolls because I don't love things that're super fried but somehow the egg rolls were perfectly fried without being too overwhelming, and the stuffing had some nice spice flavor. Paired well with meat and noodles! Coffee: I'm not much of a coffee drinker but I had a few sips of their Vietnamese coffee and it was yummy! Not too sweet, not too strong. Service: extremely efficient especially with everything made to order. Our banh mi was out in less than three minutes! #20 took a bit longer but that's because they make everything to order. Still less than 10 minutes for it to cook. Seems to be a small mom and pop shop. Person taking our order Joseph was super sweet! Offered for us to call and order next time to go and didn't rush for us to pay at all. Keep in mind it's cash preferred but they have Venmo and zelle too. No credit cards accepted here. Ambiance: more of a grab and go place. They did have one table and a few chairs and we sat down to eat but I'd recommend getting to go and going out for a picnic. Price: good price point! Our food was $28 total. Will absolutely be back!

Just a heads-up that they are cash-only, but they accept Venmo and Zelle. Indoor seating is very limited, but there's a small park just a block away with picnic tables. I ordered the combination pork, the BBQ pork banh mi, and a Vietnamese iced coffee. Both sandwiches were absolutely solid, but the grilled pork was standout for me! As for the coffee, I'd probably pass on it next time. It was a bit too watery for my taste (I want it to be more punchy!). Overall, a great little spot for a lunch run!

First time I got a leg of lamb and more recently some double cut pork chops…read more I'm sure they are helpful if you ask questions but they were pretty busy both times I came in and it felt like you needed to know what you wanted for the most part. For the leg of lamb, I think most people get a whole leg of lamb. That was way too much for me and I think the butcher thought I was confused when I asked for less and asked me what I was doing with it. He ended up saying he could give me a half leg of lamb and I agreed. Thar was about 3 and a half pounds (bone included) which was the perfect amount. I seared it and then braised it and the meat fell off the bone. Delicious and the price was pretty good. I was cooking my first pork chop and decided to come here to get it. Their pork isn't labeled as Berkshire or Duroc or anything but that probably keeps the price down. For chops, they had boneless, bone in, and double cut (which was also bone in). I mentioned I wanted it to be about 2 inches thick and the butcher said to get the double cut.I got 2 beautiful thick pork chops for $6.99 a pound so about $18 total. The regular cut bone in pork chops were the same price though obviously smaller. I brined this overnight and reverse seared it and it was great. The chop was a loin chop- loin and then a tenderloin nugget- not a pure rib chop. Cooked really nicely and was tender which I think was partially the overnight brine and also their pork. They do sell some vegetables and grocery supplies if you want to just make a single stop. They also have a deli with some sandwiches that looked good and prepared foods. I was very focused on buying the things I came in for and getting on with my day both times but I would like to take a closer look in the future as it looked good. Solid butcher shop and clearly loved since it was busy both on a weekend and during the week. I'm sure I will be back.

The walls are covered with San Francisco sports memorabilia, which gives the place some character. There were at least five employees working behind the counter, all moving efficiently and cranking out multiple sandwiches at once. They clearly have their process dialed in. We ordered the S1 with avocado, salami, and cheddar instead of Swiss, loaded with all the toppings. The salami was thick cut and high quality. I was surprised when they put it in the oven, but it ended up being one of the best parts of the sandwich. Everything came together really well. We also ordered the S6 hot pastrami with extra meat and extra cheese. It was hot, melty, and packed with flavor. Easily the best hot pastrami sub I've had. From the food to the service, this was a five-star experience. We'll definitely be back.
