Hot pastrami on a hoagie roll with jalapenos.
Phanna P.

Got a hot pastrami with jalapeños. It is so good. Service was quick, really nice people.

A delicious sandwich! I wish the bread was a little crispier, but the meat and sauces were fantastic. The highlight of my visit was definitely the service though, the staff were so, so friendly and delightful to talk to.

I have been coming here for years. They have the BEST sandos (super recommend their BLT) and very good meat! Although they are a higher price point than your average super market, everything is fresh and of much higher quality! Be it salmon, red meat or even the chicken. You can taste the difference! They also have daily soups and some daily specials. The staff is super welcoming and helpful. If you are not sure about something, just ask them! Note: They get pretty busy at lunch time, so if you walk in and see sort of a line, but not really, ask around, everyone might be just waiting for their sandos and not actually "in line".

KPIX did an interview with the owners of AK Meats for The Great SF Power Outage of 2025 last week. I came by to show them some support. My sandwich, a AK's combo $14 was ready in about 10 minutes. It was sad to see them suffer through that. It is a good reminder for us to be all ready for the next earthquake or PGE outage. My sandwich tasted great as always.

This is a tiny shop that includes a butcher display of meat, poultry and seafood, deli counter and sandwich station. Sundry items line shelves. The staff is a family who greets guests, and explains the food, combos, and sandwiches. The hot pastrami sandwich is warmed and toasted. There are choices of breads but choose the softer hogie, It's easier on the roof of your mouth. The meat is warm, rich, and marbled like bacon. Mustard, mayo, tomatoes, onions and lettuce garnish the sandwich and they can be shared. Outdoor seating is available or take it to go.

I got the Hot Pastrami Sandwich w Mustard & Mayo. It was assembled and toasted quickly after ordering. As for the sandwich itself, the crunchy exterior of the Dutch Crunch bread complements the thin stacked layers of Pastrami. Also the swiss cheese, along with the spiciness of the mustard brightens the sandwich and doesn't let you get bored with the flavor. The warmth of the toasted sandwich is great against the windy weather. And the portion size is large enough to be two meals. I'm satisfied that this was my first bite after a day of hiking.

Hands down the best hot pastrami sandwich I've ever had. It's worth a trip out to the avenues. I got mine fully loaded with pickles, onions and peppers. The added vegetables were chopped which gave you some in every bite.

The place wasn't super crowded so I didn't have to wait too long. It was a small store with nice selection of artisan items that go along with meat. It had a warm dim light ambiance that I liked. Loved the outdoor seating - got good amount of sun while eating my sando! I'll have to come here again. They have a huge selection of fresh meats cut to order. Looked too expensive for my budget. Loved the pastrami! I got my pastrami with all the stuff - onions, peperoncini, and cheese. The bread was crispy and hot as was the stuff inside. This was so fresh and I can't believe that this place is so close to the house.

Delicacy

What a great hole in the wall! When I came in I was greeted by the 2 sweet owners (or what I assume to be). They guided me and my friend in the right direction for ordering. We got the AK Hot Pastrami on a French roll and the AK Delicacy on Dutch crunch. The Delicacy is a turkey sandwich with all their veggies the have. Tasted like a very solid turkey sandwich and love that they put sprouts in it. The highlight of the meal and the reason I would come back again and again was definitely the AK Hot Pastrami! That was so good and is now my favorite hot pastrami. Will come back to have again. Probably put it on marble rye next.

I went here because my son wanted a deli sandwich and it was nearby after coming back from Baker Beach. I ordered a salami sandwich on a sweet French roll with mayo, mustard, provolone, tomatoes, and whole bunch of sprouts. My sandwich was cool, nothing spectacular. The sandwiches were $15 a piece! Definitely not returning but I like how organized the lady was in making the sandwich.

AK meats is a really nice place to get sandwiches to go. The tuna melt I had was excellent. They have a great selection of red and white meats for sale. The service was great and the cashier was very friendly. The Ambiance of the place was very nice as well. I give them 5 stars. I highly recommend them. I can see myself coming back here next time I visit my parents

The pastrami sandwich (8/10): Food was pretty good. Compared to Molinari Delicatessen in little Italy, it's not as good because Molinari gives more food, but the pastrami was really good; almost made up for the size. It's worth a second visit if I'm in the area.

Ak Aks Decadence
Melissa G.

The sandwiches here are amazing. Huge Sandy with a fair price. All the fixings and on top of that, amazing service. I have never ever had a bad experience here. Go in and get you a AK Decadence for lunch today HOT on a ditch, tell me that's not the best sandwich you've had in the city.

All I have heard is that the 25th/Clement Market owners have taken over the shop. They used to run it years go before Amy. I am worried about her too!

In Philly, where I'm from, a ladle of pork jus tops these sandwiches, creating a moist mouthful that ties the flavors together texturally. The Palm sandwich has no pork jus and instead has a spicy mayo, and some sort of chewy, smoky bits sprinkled on top. I'm really disappointed with this version. It's basically a very dry pork sandwich with a measly slice of provolone and broccoli rabe on one side and sauce on the other side. Unless your mouth is able to get around a 3.5" sandwich, the flavors don't mix. If you're going to make a sandwich that already exists and put your "take" on it, it should be at least as good, if not better. I hate paying good money on crap food. Boo.

We found Mr. Banh Mi in the nearby Outer Richmond neighborhood, and it looked legit from what we saw. It was our first time in the Outer Richmond, and it turned out to be a really charming area with lots of good food and cool little shops. Mr. Banh Mi is a small hole-in-the-wall with a pickup window and a tiny interior counter and kitchen. I ordered the BBQ Pork Banh Mi since the young man up front kindly recommended it, and my girlfriend ordered the Tofu Banh Mi. These sandwiches were super well-priced and came out fast, hot, and good-sized. They smelled amazing and had our mouths watering immediately. We ate half at the beginning of our walk and saved the other half for later in the day at Golden Gate Park. The BBQ pork had a great sauce on it and plenty of jalapeños and pickled veggies, mostly carrots, and not quite enough daikon for me personally, but it was absolutely loaded with meat and vegetables. It was delicious when fresh, but somehow even better a few hours later when I finished the second half. The sauce had soaked into the bread more, and the flavors really came together. I did miss the usual huge helping of buttery Vietnamese mayo, and there was no pâté, which was a slight disappointment for me. It did feel a little dry at first since the juicy marinated BBQ pork had to provide most of the moisture. That said, the bread was crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and everything tasted super fresh. Overall, this was the perfect on-the-go meal, and I would definitely come back next time I'm heading to Golden Gate Park.
