We recently contracted Creative Moving to handle our cross country move from AZ to GA.
We had used them for a local move several years ago and were pleased to find out they could do something no other moving company was willing to do, which was move all of our things (includes contents of household, baby grand piano, + 2 cars) and commit to a price and loading date at time of quote.
Mirko, came to our house to do the quote. After doing his walk around, we sat down to talk as I wanted to ask questions so there wouldn't be any surprises. His response to everything I asked for was "yes, we can do that." I even asked, what if the load weighs more than you estimated, or takes longer to load/unload, or won't all fit in one truck like you thought? He said the price wouldn't change and everything would fit. But what if it wouldn't fit? He said they would still get everything to the destination at the agreed upon price.
Creative sent out Ronald, Jorge, and Hillario the day before the move to get a jump on the wrapping/prep work. They did a good portion of the wrapping and prep work that day. The guys were extremely professional and did a great job of protecting our stuff.
Moving Day:
The crew consisted of: Ernesto, Arturo, Renee, Victor, and Justin. They finished the prep work which consisted of things like putting down floor and wall protection and continuing the wrapping of furniture. They quickly divided up the responsibilities of doing the various tasks. They all seemed to work well together and seemed to have been working for the company for a long time. They were respectful and professional when interacting with us. If there was something I was concerned about and asked them to do, they happily did as I asked. My wife and I tried not to interfere with their work, though we did have a few short conversations with them. I had a feeling that one of the guys hadn't worked for Creative for a very long time, so I asked how he liked working there. He told me he really liked working there. I asked what was it that caused him to like working here so much. I'll never forget his response, he said, "Sir, they treat me like I am family." It was very refreshing to hear about a company that not only wants to put out the best product for their customers, but also treats their employees like family.
I observed their work throughout the day and even went to the truck from time-to -time to watch them arrange everything. It was amazing how they were able to load everything and use up the space so effectively. It reminded me of doing a jig-saw puzzle, however, this one was 3 dimensional. There's no way I could have done this myself. I could tell that they really knew what they were doing and had a great deal of expertise and experience.
My wife and I had told Jesse, in advance, that we would drive our cars to the loading dock where they were going to load them. They were fine with this and received our cars and filled out the walk-around paperwork.
The next day, I checked in with Jesse, as I was curious if our cars fit with everything on the one truck. It fit! Amazing!
Unload in GA.
Ronald from Creative called me and said they could unload 1 day earlier than they had committed to. The original plan was for Ronald and George to be joined by some people who they contracted with locally to assist with the unloading. However, since they arrived a day early, Ronald and George had to do the unloading themselves. So, the unloading and reassembling some of the furniture pieces took a lot longer than what they originally had planned for, however this didn't cause any problems for us. It was quite amazing that just two people could handle this themselves. I don't think I have ever met someone like Ronald. He was like the energizer bunny. The guys were there all day the first day... until the evening hours, then came back and finished up placing furniture and assembling things the next morning. Ronald never stopped working! I'm pretty sure he never took a break!
Amazingly, there were only several incidents/items that either got dirty or broken in the move. Ronald assured me that Creative would do whatever it takes to resolve these things to my satisfaction. A few days later, Jesse proposed how he would make it right. There was no need to negotiate, as what he proposed was completely acceptable and sufficient. Without going into detail about these, I just wanted to say that Creative Moving lived up to all of their promises, and, in the end was 110% willing to make things right for the few things that were damaged.
Thanks to Jesse, Mirko, Ronald, Jorge, Hillario, Ernesto, Arturo, Renee, Victor, and Justin for doing such an amazing job of handling our cross-country move! Last, but not least, thanks to the driver, Madrid, for safely driving everything we own cross country and arriving early, without incident, at our new home. We really appreciate it! read more
