In late December our shower door in our condo shattered. Seeing how the walk-in shower itself was about 15 years old we decided to replace all the glass and the glass structure (about 2/3rds of the shower is walls and a half-wall). Creative Mirror was quick to respond, provided a very competitive estimate, and based on Yelp reviews had a great reputation. We went with them and they came out even quicker than expected. Dale Ginger responded to my inquiry for repair of a large mirror. He quoted me $890 to replace the mirror. I asked if the scratch could be repaired and he replied "mirror scratched can not be repaired'. That was Monday, and today, Thursday, I am looking at my beautifully polished/repaired mirror that Glass Guardians charged me $300 to restore to it's perfect state. I was lied to by Creative Mirror. Enrique and Manny arrived promptly to install a new shower door. They were neat, efficient and careful around my furniture and paintings. They vacuumed after finishing the job, so that my floors and surrounding areas were clean. There was a slight nick in one of the handles on the shower door. We had our master bathroom remodeled recently and decided to got with creative mirror for our glass door. We paid upwards of $3K for a large, customized glass shower door and panels. 1. Guys came to install the glass and they "forgot" to order a piece. This delayed us one week. 2. A week later, another crew came and as they are installing everything, they realize the door is short by 0.5" vs how it should be. Again, this was all custom measured by their team. This is a big deal because it lets the water out of the shower. Further, this door had scratches. Again, 1.5 week go by again. 3. After 1.5 weeks and almost no communication, we finally get the right one installed. 4. Owner called and talked to my husband reiterating how much their company focuses on quality and good work - words are empty without action. The work delivered didn't match the owners promises of good, quality work. Their crews while nice guys, rarely kept their masks on even though I explicitly asked as I am 5 months pregnant and are being very careful with Covid. I had to often asked them to remove their shoes as well several times even though this a standard practice in Chicago particularly in snowy days, like how the last couple of weeks have been. I will not be recommending this company nor will I be using them for any other work (even though I have 2 more bathrooms to remodel in this house). read more

These guys are fantastic! The overall process has been very smooth and their pricing very competitive. I spent forever on Yelp trying to find a shower install person and Yelp reviews landed me between mega contractors for full house rehabs (nope) and handymen who can fix everything at $73 an hour (nope). I was driving through Lincoln Park and noticed their tiny store front--bonus! People don't just do e-commerce and rely on reviews they're actual humans. The gentlemen was very helpful in helping source the type of shower I need (not the one for the highest commission), then spoke to Caryn in scheduling (who's fantastically persistent) and TOM AND JOHN just completed the install in a most polite and professional manner. Overall we would work with this company again however we know more now and would be better prepared. We had an emergency situation where the glass walls of our masterbath shower were slipping. We were concerned for our safety and our house. We reached out to 3 companies and Creative Mirror was the first to respond & could get someone out the next day, which we needed. It was 3 days before Thanksgiving and we knew this could be a problem. We explained our situation and a sales guy said he'd be out the next day. Gramos Krasniqi arrived the next day and agreed we had a problem and it was dangerous. He gave us a quote to replace and install the shower walls. Later he called and said because of how serious the situation was the installation manager agreed to come out the next day & remove the current glass. Gramos also pointed out that many companies in his situation would probably take advantage of us and we were well aware. The quote for everything was more than we wanted to spend but we also knew time was not in our side so we agreed and here is where our first mistake comes in. In the process of scheduling we missed the detail on the invoice that breaks out their payment terms. Something that causes a huge problem on our end later. The Wednesday before Thanksgiving they come out and remove the glass walls and point out all the mistakes the previous installs made (we weren't surprised). They were not fully prepared for taking the shower down because their equipment ran out of batteries part way through and they didn't have everything they needed. In the end they got it down and left us a pile of razor blades and were told we needed to remove all the glue before they returned to install. Which did NOT make us happy. We had a personal problem going on during all this time that caused us not to be home to take care of the glue until the last minute and then it took a lot of time to take down. It was 2-3 weeks before I called and scheduled the installation, that's when we learned that we couldn't put the balance on a card because we reached the max amount they allow you to put on a card. Something they really should mention because we now had 2 days to scramble to make sure we had a check and cash to pay. Install was great. The 2 guys (I lost their names) were friendly and worked fast. They explained that we couldn't use it for a few days and to keep the tape on to help reinforce the seals. After they left we found a few bumps and scratches in our ceiling, I'm guessing from getting the glass in place, but still frustrating since they weren't there before. There is also a hole in our shower wall where a bracket once was. We asked if that would be filled in after installation and were told it would be but it was not. Lastly our shower door used to swing in both directions but now only opens out. This would have been helpful to k ow prior to installation. Perhaps that was the only way they could do it but it would have nice to know before hand. If someone asked if they should use this company I would say yes but I would recommend any questions you ask get answers in writing and be aware of payment terms so you avoid the scramble. Everyone we talked to was kind and helpful we just was wish certain things had been handled differently. Lastly our shower looks much stronger and that is what we wanted. We do have to fix the holes that were left and there is also marks on the glass that we are still trying to remove but haven't been able to figure out yet. I am updating my previous review which detailed my concerns with their lack of communication and the water streaks on my shower doors. The owner just called me to apologize and to explain how their coating is to prevent mineral buildup, and not everyday streaks. He offered to personally deliver a free glass cleaning kit. Overall, I feel better about their service. The poor communication was likely an anomaly as he explained they were short-staffed due to covid. But I would advise that you get clarity on their glass coating before purchase. read more

Adjusting my review to add one additional star because he cared enough to follow-up** I called directly to inquire about a glass door for a shower. I had a great experience with the person who scheduled the appointment from their office. She was friendly and scheduled an appointment right away. However, I had a negative experience with the sales consultant who came out to do the estimate. Not only did he say he could not do what I wanted to do for the shower (it was pretty standard; clamps on a stationary panel with a hinged door), but he had a bit of a poor attitude in terms of the customer service. I got estimates from at least 4 companies and this was the ONLY one that told me the project was not "up to code". Like I said, the project was pretty standard: stationary panel with a hinged door and clamps. I can usually deal with a bad attitude because maybe the person was having a bad day which is completely fine. But the part that really bothers me is that the sales person emailed me a follow-up question, I responded with the answer expecting to get a proposal, and I never heard from him again. No follow up, no proposal, no nothing. I don't know what their installation services are like or the quality of their products but I don't feel confident in the company based on the initial interaction I had with them. read more

I had frameless shower doors installed in March 2003 and am still pissed off about it today in 2012! These were to be installed along the edge of my bathtub. A seemingly simple installation but for some reason they originally installed them along the outer edge of the tub causing water to collect on the ledge and then leak onto the floor. I complained for weeks and then they came back out to reinstall them (moving them to the inside edge of the tub so there would be no place for the water to collect). Well then I was left with permanent holes in the tiles of my shower area. I complained about this as well and eventually they sent someone out to amateurishly patch them. They also scratched the heck out of my bathtub and I had to have it refinished--all this in a brand new condo. Flash forward to 2011/2012. I placed several service calls with them to have seals replaced but their call center seems to have disappeared. Each time I was directed to a gentleman's voice mail and never received a return call. I eventually got another company to complete the maintenance. Based on my experience I would not recommend doing business with this company. If you do, charge as much as they allow on your credit card (in 2003 it was $2000) and immediately dispute the charge if you experience any problems at all. read more

Went here after not being able to find a certain sized mirror on the intrawebs for a new bathroom remodel (mirror size 55 x 32). Was very impressed with their knowledge and options for the mirror I wanted (not to mention their knowledge on shower door options and the engineering behind it to make a glass enclosure secure!). Was VERY happy with the price of the mirror - especially since the mirror on the intrawebs that was close to the size I wanted was $600 and CM&S quoted me at $418 less. So utterly happy. The showroom has a great example of all the options the business has to offer and what they can do for you. The mirror came in extremely quick (less than a week turn around time). I said everything I wanted and I was glad because he is patiently trying to understand everything I say and then we settled everything and decided to start the operation the next week. The installers came a bit late on the said time but they immediately started the work. They are kind and professionals. On the other hand the mirrors are all perfect and lit.
