We chose Studio41 for our bathroom renovation because of their beautiful product selection and because we received the recommendation from our contractor. We assumed the higher cost would come with a higher level of customer service and communication, but unfortunately, that was not our experience. Prior to purchase, communication was solid. However, once payment was received and the order was placed, communication significantly declined. One major issue was that we were not informed us that our order would be split into two separate shipments with different numbers. I received one invoice with one order number. When we received notice that our order was ready for delivery, we reasonably assumed the entire order had arrived and ready to be delivered. Instead, only half of the order was delivered. Because Studio41 does not deliver items into residential units, we had to hire movers to transport large and heavy items--including a vanity, toilet, and tile--into our condo. Had we known the order arriving was not the full order, we could have planned accordingly. Instead, we incurred the cost and inconvenience of hiring movers on two separate occasions. When I contacted customer service to discuss the situation, the response was disappointing. Rather than acknowledging the communication gap, the representative was dismissive and implied that split shipments are common knowledge. As a customer, I don't believe it's unreasonable to expect this information to be proactively communicated, especially when it directly impacts delivery logistics and additional costs. We also encountered issues with Studio41's return policy. We purchased Kohler mirrors that ultimately did not work for our project due to installation requirements. Although the mirrors were brand new and still available from Kohler, the only option offered was a return with a 50% restocking fee. Given the substantial markup on many products and the overall purchase amount, we expected more flexibility and a greater focus on customer satisfaction. To be clear, the products themselves are beautiful and high quality. My dissatisfaction is entirely with the customer experience after the sale. For a company positioning itself as a premium showroom, the communication, support, and return process fell well short of expectations. Unfortunately, I would not shop at Studio41 again and would encourage others to carefully review delivery and return policies before making a purchase. read more

I was actually at the 83rd Street location on the south side but this is the only one that pops up. You have the most pleasant, knowledgeable, and patient receptionist there. I believe her name is Jadah. She answered quite a few of my questions, as all of the designers were with customers, and was very reassuring that my questions were legit and that I wasn't wasting her time. I can only hope that when I decide to start my project your designers are as wonderful as Jadah! read more

Once payment is received - customer service stops. I have defective (not broken, defective from manufacture) product that I am waiting on replacement for a month. They do not return calls when voicemail is left, when you get a hold of someone - "we'll double check and get back to you". Dave L. (manager in Highland Park store) - spoke once with him, got "I will get back to you". He never did... called him a couple of times and left voicemails - no call back. Karen (manager customer service) - does not call back but if you get. Hold of her - "I will check and let you know"... that does not happen ... until you call again (and get the same response from her) Leslie - sales person - disappeared after forwarding complaint about defective product. In all honesty - Home Depot has much better customer service compared to Studio 41... my next step - filing dispute with credit card company... after a month of waiting ("replacement product is in stock at manufacture warehouse in the US") - I am done with them. read more

We are in the process of renovating our entire luxury home, so thought we would stop in here to see what they have and were looking for floor tiles and drawer pulls, hoping to leave with an order placed. We planned to spend at least 4-5 thousand dollars. When we entered, the receptionist was friendly. That's about all I can say that is positive. After I looked around at tiles that aren't labeled at all, I asked two employees if there was someone that could assist me. They looked at me as if I had just insulted them and was not welcome in the showroom at all. They were exasperated and annoyed. I'm sorry that your cushy little "design" job is just SO excruciating that a customer/client asking for assistance puts you out SO much. Grow up and do your job (even though these ladies were likely in their 50s). One of them YELLED at the receptionist to assign me someone without even actually addressing ME. The receptionist requested someone to assist us and it took ages - at least 15 minutes even though there were only a couple other people in the showroom. Once I was assigned someone, he wasn't very committed to helping. He answered my questions about the one tile I was most interested in and then didn't care to help me look at anything else. He did direct me to a tile gallery across the street where they can order from - we did go there but definitely won't place the order with Studio41. I went downstairs to look at drawer pulls and they do have a huge selection with some great options, but I had finished looking through most of them by the time anyone noticed me or bothered to offer assistance. Honestly, the whole experience felt lower class than going to Home Depot. I will never set foot in this place again and advise everyone else that cares about service to avoid it. I spent a couple thousand on drawer pulls at Restoration Hardware instead. The service was outstanding and friendly and they truly care about assisting with the design of your home. Their selection isn't large but I felt totally welcome there and valued and their smaller selection is well-curated so I felt I had several options. read more

I have been a loyal customer and spent a lot of money with Studio 41 over the years. A face mirror had somehow lost the set screw to keep it securely stable and attached to the wall. I called, spoke with my sales person to help replace this minimal screw. I followed up with an email, photos and the invoice order and item number. I followed up with emails and phone calls. I have never heard back from my sales person for this nominal screw but necessary to secure my $500.00 + mirror. I finally called the manufacturer and received the screw 2 days later. I will NEVER do business with Studio 41 again, as my needs were too insignificant for their assistance. This is poor customer service and business. I would not recommend Studio 41! read more

I was assisted by Eric Mahoney in the Kohler store of Studio 41in getting replacement doors for an old Robern cabinet. The manufacturer had two different prices for the replacement doors. It was confusing and didn't make a lot of sense to me. Eric did his best to get me the lowest price from the manufacturer for the higher quality product. I felt like he had good follow-up and genuinely cared about customer service and satisfaction. read more

Another store that we came in to check out and left realizing how many different ways there are to furnish a bathroom and kitchen! The wall of shower fixtures and faucets was quite impressive and we learned that stand alone tubs are definitely a big thing right now. The toilet wall at the back of the store was quite impressive, especially the metal on the wall toilet that looks like something out of a prison. Apparently when it's polished it looks pretty cool and more like you're on a spaceship rather than in the slammer. The kitchen sink area was quite impressive and we got a lot of great ideas 4 things in the coming years. In addition, we had a number of fixtures that were so gaudyi we actually had to ask about them. The most impressive one was a gold fixture that weighs so much, it can't actually be mounted on a wall. We decided not to go with that one as result :-) A good place to get ideas for your house, with friendly associates, and plenty to look at. Everything seemed to be a little on the pricey side, but they do tend to have things that are not available elsewhere. Worth checking out for sure! read more

Did we ever have a terrible experience with Studio 41, specifically the River North location, both during our kitchen design process and after the fact. I'll try and summarize here- we went with S41 for our small-ish, in-place-upgrade kitchen cabinets. Here is how the process went: First, we were sold a 36" sink basin cabinet with drawers. It doesn't fit standard garbage disposals, let alone how our plumbing is configured. We had to reach back out and purchase doors for the basin and were charged additionally for this. I am unsure how we weren't at least asked if our plumbing could accommodate as is or if we were reconfiguring it. Next, we sent our mini-fridge dimensions multiple times, yet they still sent a base set up several inches larger than we needed. Then, they sent a "free" 6" pull-out cabinet to fill the space, which ended up making it too small. Again, we sent the mini-fridge dimensions multiple times. S41 rep stated the 6" pull-out would have replaced the end piece of the base cabinets. We already had countertops installed (again, we told them this, as you'll read next if you're still with me). Why did we have countertops already? Our base cabinets were finished, and we asked them to measure for coutnertops. After almost 2 weeks of back and forth, we still didn't have measurements and went to another stone provider that measured same day, installed within a week or so, and was $1,500 cheaper. Weird, but ok. Then, the charges to our credit cards. Slow close hinges weren't ordered for the doors mentioned before for the sink basin, and we were charged for them with no notice. An email came through later, but after paying for them anyway, I wouldn't expect to continually have to pay for S41's mistake. Boy, was I wrong. When I reached out to the sales rep and detailed each failure in this process, the reply was essentially; it's on us. For not being design or contracting professionals ourselves. For not knowing each step of this proces we hired them for. Why would we hire them if we knew what we were doing for this process? After responding and calling out their lack of accountability in the response, you can probably imagine I didn't receive any further. If you're looking to have a process laden with mistakes and overages you'll pay for, hire S41. If you're looking to be reasonable and expect a team that has failed at almost every point in the process to take responsibility? Best of luck, but you can't say someone didn't warn you. read more

I rarely leave reviews but feel compelled to about my experience so others can avoid having the same experience. We ordered matching prefinished cabinets and shelves to make built in storage in our office. They both came finished - sort of. The cabinet fronts were nice - but the side that is exposed is unfinished. The shelves on the other hand were supposedly finished but they are of very poor quality and don't come close to matching the cabinets. The most frustrating part really is the amount of lies that I was told by Debi and that Iryna refused to stand behind their products or do anything to make the situation right. Debi even came to my home twice and 'ordered' a side piece to the cabinet to match the front, but that never materialized. Long story short, I could have ordered a higher quality product from one of the big box hardware stores at 25% of the cost and had a lot less headaches. We are now in the process of trying to add trim and other pieces and then painting to cover up how horrible it looks. Not what you expect when you pay what we paid at Studio 41. Forget doing business here - go to a big box store for better quality and less hassle and a much lower cost. read more

We gutted and remodeled both bathrooms and kitchen earlier this year, and since Studio 41 is a few blocks from us, I thought it would be a logical place to go to buy all our faucets / sinks / shower equipment. However, similar to a few other reviewers, I did not have a positive experience. None of the salespeople came over to help me at all, and when I asked for some help, they did come over, but it wasn't what I was hoping for. And some of that really isn't the salesperson's fault - it was more so the design of the show room. Nothing is marked - model numbers or prices. So, while I knew I wanted Hansgrohe or Moen or Kohler, I had no idea what model number I was looking at - nor the price. The salesperson told me I needed to just ask them and they would tell us the model number. That's not a great approach - especially given that none of the sales people were "jumping up" to help me. It really puts the customer at the salesperson's whim. I want to come into a store and be able to see which model numbers I'm looking at so that I can go online and see reviews, etc. Similar for the showerhead display - where they will turn on the showerheads for you and you can see the spray power. Again - I would just be pointing to any shower head, they would turn it on, but I would have to ask which model that was. And sometimes they would just say "RainDance", but there are a lot of RainDance Models, so that didn't help me. Price-wise, they told me it's the standard manufacturer price (you see online) and then your contractor would probably get 25% off. That, too was disappointing to know b/c when I was looking at contractors earlier in the year, I thought that was a huge selling point of a contractor. However, I get 25% coupons from Studio 41 every three months. So - no great bonus there. I ended up going to Ferguson and the people there were soooo helpful and really went out of their way to assist me. I recommend going elsewhere for your faucet, bathroom, etc. needs. read more

My contractor measured incorrectly and we ended up missing a cabinet and she worked her magic to get me the piece I needed in 2 days so the whole project wasn't brought to a complete stand-still. She is incredibly friendly and personable to work with and takes the time to explain the different pros and cons of the cabinet options. read more

My husband is a paraplegic so I paid someone to help take the items to my unit. Lost that money! Showed up when he had another delivery. He was arguing with other people! Tried to lie! We wanted to remodel our master bath and include a steam shower. We shopped around and landed at Studio41 in Naperville and met with Michelle Marconi - could not have been more fortunate. Michelle helped us from top to bottom, with color selection and matching, to sizing the steam shower unit, to fixture choices. As with virtually everything today, several of the product vendors (tiles, fixtures) had delivery delays; that didn't stop Michelle. She found alternative options, expedited deliveries, became our advocate with vendors and delivery agents to get us what we ordered. She even kept in contact while on vacation - really - that's customer service. We are thrilled with the what we purchased at Studio41 and very impressed and appreciative of how well Michelle took care of us and our needs and products. I have a townhome 3 blocks away from this store. It was very convient to walk to and the hours were very good. We worked with Dan Ryal who was very friendly, very nolagable about all the products and made the ordering process easy. All products came in as ordered, when promised and delivered to our home when promised. We had a glitch with one order, but Dan and the team worked it out perfectly. My husband and I went to studio 41 (Hubbard) to look at tub options for our 2 bathroom renovation. We walked in with high hopes as we heard about the wonderful selection they had. We walked in at 4 p.m. with 2 hours left until closing time. As soon as we walked in, not a single person welcomed us. It was clear that we had to walk directly in front of a salesperson's desk in order to be acknowledged. He remained seated and directed us downstairs to look at more tub options. We walked around and headed downstairs and 2 salesmen were at their desks and felt like they were bothered to help us. We proceeded to look at the tub options, asking the seated salesperson about the dimensions to which he responded "I don't know the size", so we asked for a tape measure and a spec sheet for the tubs we liked. I physically had to walk back to his desk to ask for his measuring tape to measure the tub myself. When we asked for his card, he said "I don't have any". The customer service was SUB-PAR to say the least. My husband later called in to see if they do a price match on a tub that we liked that we found at another website and rudely said "we don't price match". We came in assuming that we would be treated as customers, but we felt more like an inconvenience. Overall their customer service was lacking all around... 2 thumbs DOWN! read more

I told her what I was looking for so she showed me some things in the showroom but recommended a different one from a catalog based on what I was looking for. I walked in to the shop at 6:40 p.m. even though it closed at 6:00. The manager, Dan, was as nice as can be, and gave me plenty of time to look around. I was impressed by the clean, modern design. There were no prices on the items, so I'm afraid it was one of those "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" situations. But I'll definitely go back with the hubby and have another look around. If they laugh us out of the shop after we tell them our budget, then so be it. read more

If you have to go to Studio 41 - and I suggest you don't - be careful. Our person ordered pieces in the wrong finish and then was very unhelpful when it came to fixing a mistake Sudio 41 made. They also made mistakes in customer service, meaning we they gave us pieces that belonged to someone else and again - very unhelpful when it came to fixing their mistake. All in all an unpleasant experience from start to finish. To top it off, even though we took in a picture and went over our design VERY carefully, our person clearly did not understand what we wanted. We were missing critical pieces and had to start over in the shower almost completely. We worked with a different company to rectify the mistake and they made it all good almost over night. Sadly, we had to pay for the additional plumber and tile install time. All because Studio 41 simply did not know what they were doing. Full stop! read more

It's important to note that our poor review of Studio is related to its design service, not the products we received. As noted in the original review, the design had several flaws that required correction due to a lack of attention to detail. We continue to experience this challenge as we seek to obtain the final part from the original order placed in December 2015. First, we needed to make a few requests to receive the part despite it being written in the contract and then we advised on making sure the proper size was ordered. The part arrived today, but it was the wrong size. The products Studio represents are excellent quality. The design service, attention to detail, and customer service are not. read more

I went in to the Hubbard location to ask about a lockset that broke and that I purchased there. Wanted to know if it could be fixed or to purchase a new one. I could not believe the level of rudeness from the salesperson upstairs. Before saying to go downstairs to the lock dept he spoke to me as though I was a homeless person walking in off the street. Went downstairs and it wasn't any better. There were three salespeople sitting at their desks and NONE of them bothered to ask me anything. Had to approach one & ask for help. She didn't even want to help me. Seems like if I wanted to spend $25k they would acknowledge my presence but otherwise acted like I was bothering them for even being there. THE RUDEST most unprofessional place I had the misfortune of dealing with. This type of service forces people to go elsewhere. read more

I've shopped both Studio 41 locations the one on Pulaski and the one down by the mart. I think this is a good showroom for mid range fixtures, I usually go here to shop for a bathroom that my client doesn't deem that important such as a children's bathroom or a basement bathroom. If I'm shopping for the more high end bath fixtures I tend to go to more specialty showrooms. read more

There were lots of staff members around, but none of them approached me to see if they could help for the first 15 minutes I was there. I stopped one and finally asked for some help. Great experience with Studio 41! This is the third bathroom I am having remodeled and absolutely enjoyed working with Studio 41. Great selection of vanities and hardware, great source of ideas and friendly service. All parts were received within two weeks and when we needed to return a couple, the process was easy and return granted immediately. Of course it is pricier than the Home Depot or Menard's but the product choice, quality and level of service make an enormous difference for such a complex project. I've been looking for bath fixtures for two bathrooms that I've been re-doing, and I could not be more pleased with the service I've received at Studio 41. I've been working with Emily, who is probably one of the most helpful people I've ever encountered, she's got a great design aesthetic, not to mention that she totally knows the wide range products and lines to choose from, including what's needed for these types of remodeling jobs, things to look out for, etc. Also, the pricing at Studio41 is excellent, and they offer a nice range of brands at various price points, depending on what your budget it. My kitchen faucet was leaking and all I needed was a simple replacement part to fix it. I walked into this store yesterday for the first time and was immediately greeted by a Sales Consultant named Dan, within minutes he located the replacement part and had it delivered from another store for me to pick up the following day. Dan was very pleasant and efficient unlike another well know bath and kitchen showroom I had visited earlier. At the other place they were only interested in selling me a new faucet for around $900+ when all I needed was a replacement part that cost $40! They stand behind their items with a great warranty, and have always been a helpful liason with manufacturers when I've needed parts replacements, delivery etas, or to change an order last minute.
