I have been to 4 other salons since moving to Brooklyn and not one of them has been able to give me the blonde highlights that my stylist back in New Hampshire ( stylist of 20 years) has always given me. He nailed it and I'm so happy! Stephen is an artist and great with the science of color. I've gone here a couple of times to blow dry and dye my hair. I always leaves satisfied but this is the first time I went to have my hair bleached. I went on a Friday and it's currently Tuesday. I showed the stylist the color that I wanted and she immediately stayed that it had to be bleached. I hesitated because every time I've gone to a salon to bleach my hair, my hair always comes out damaged. The color that I wanted and the color that I got were no where close to each other. You would run your hands through my hair and you could the amount of damage that it took. My hair felt brittle I was in a rush to leave and ended up paying $320. I called to say that I wasn't happy with the color and if they could fix it. I came the next day at 8:30 where we proceeded to color my hair darker because the stylist did not seem to understand that the color I was looking for was ginger with a brownish hue. I didn't want to take another chance so I just had them dye it darker. They didn't charge me for the new dye job but they did for the blow out after. I was content with the new color but felt as though bleaching my hair from the beginning was not necessary and how $320 went down the drain. Fast forward to today, Tuesday, 11/23/21. I washed my hair and the severity of the damage hit me. Every time I ran a brush or comb through my hair, strings of hair would come out. I'm afraid to comb my hair. Parts of my hair look brittle, feel stringy and have that burnt hair look. I have spent the whole night crying because I do not know how I am going to reviver from this. I will never bleach my hair again and I will no longer be going to this hair salon. Although, I've been wanting to get my hair cut quite short for a number of years and have finally taken the leap. What a great decision this was! Below is the before and after of my hair. My hairstylist, Irma (I hope I'm spelling her name right), did a wonderful job with my hair. I asked for a longer pixie/shag and she created a look that perfectly suits my face. Hubby has been working so hard and we were long overdue for a date. So I booked a much-needed and well-deserved massage. He had the deep tissue while I went Swedish. We arrived a few minutes early to check in and complete an intake form lol. The two-story spa was nice. Services included hairstyling, manicures/pedicures, and facials. Although I booked our appointments by phone with Groupon vouchers, I was never instructed to bring cash for tax and tip. Who carries paper anymore when we've got plastic smh? I saw the sign on the reception desk where the receptionist reiterated what I already read. I opted not to use the atms in neighboring businesses for security reasons and trekked four blocks to my local bank branch. So much for being in a relaxed state. The impromptu cash run cost us some of our session time. How ridiculous! My masseuse, Alana, was friendly and personable. We shared stories and laughs while she worked on my knots. Sweet and accommodating staff. Booked an appointment for color and cut. Curly haired brunette with some brassy left over color on my hair. I asked for some balayage with cool tones- hoping it would be the first of a few visits to transition to more blonder hair without too much damage. The color I was given was NOTHING compared to what I asked for, walked away with so much damage. My color ended up looking more grey/white than blonde. The color mixes felt white and light brown with my dark brown roots. The color placement was so stringy, thin and not flattering especially how I wear my hair most of the time;curly. I asked the stylist to trim my ends from the color damage. She cute about 4 inches from my hair, gave me a choppy bad hair cute too top, I always have to keep my hair pinned back because the cut is so uneven. I wouldn't go back, I've spend the last couple months trying to grow my hair back from the bad haircut. read more

I come here all the time! Senada B always does my hair! I will continue to come here because I can't find anyone else that can do my hair the way she does it. NOW the reason why I'm giving 3 stars. I was here 2 weeks ago and Senada B was not there. I went in for a quick wash and dry. The lady that took care of me was amazing ( I wish I remembered her name). The receptionist was amazing as well, always so sweet. There was a lady who was wearing heels, all black outfit, very short blonde curly hair who stared at me like she wanted to intimidate me. I see her all the time and she is always staring people down. She might be the owner? If she feels privileged enough to stare people down (I really hope she is not). Also, the lady who always washes my hair. Long brown hair with an accent. She picks and chooses who she wants to be nice to. When it was time to wash my hair, she did not ask if the water temperature was okay. I heard her ask the two people before me, but not me. The thing that always gets me mad is instead of telling me to put my head back she pulls my hair so my head can go back. She ALWAYS does this. Let me repeat, She PULLS your hair to bring your head back. She is so rough and rude. What's so hard about saying "please bring your head back" I tried to tell her but she walked away because someone was calling her. I also noticed SOME ladies had their mask off and I saw one hair dresser lick her fingers to open up a glove and slide her hand in. During covid times , you can't do that. They didn't wipe down my chair before I sat on it. I don't know, but maybe this was just an off day because the manager was not there, but I guess I hope I have a better experience next time. He explained what he was gonna do, how he's gonna do it and made everything so comfortable that I felt ok to ask him questions whenever needed. I received a completely uneven and choppy haircut from this place. I have very short hair and it's apparent how uneven my bob is. The layers are messy and not growing in well. I now have to wait for it to grow out longer so I can get an even cut. It's pretty terrible. This is the worst hair cut I have ever received in my whole life! Instead of trying to fix the mess, management tried to pin the blame on me and say that it's my fault because I trimmed my own bangs prior to getting the haircut. My bangs and the length of my hair have nothing to do with one another. The bangs are fine. The bottom is completely uneven (left side is about a whole inch longer than the right) and the layers are just horrible. Who licensed these people!!!! I do not understand if their reviews are fake or if their staff give them 4 and 5 star reviews but I would not recommend this place at all. read more

The day of, I had unexpected company and had to call twice to change my appointment time, and they were still able to accommodate me, and they were pleasant about it the whole time. My hair stylist was Nida, who is an absolute angel. My hair was blotchy and uneven, and it was BLACK, which is obviously a hard color to lighten or correct. Nida did color and a full head of headlights that didn't damage my hair; it looks absolutely amazing. She also fixed up the horribly uneven haircut I had. This one star review is solely because of the salon's tolerance of unmasked personnel and disregard of customer safety. When I arrived, one of the people cutting hair was unmasked (his chair right next to mine) as was a customer sitting right across from me in the shampoo area. I asked Stephen about what looked like a new policy. He asked his fellow employee and the customer to mask up but the customer remained unmasked the whole time I was there - allegedly he was having his beard dyed but that did not occur the whole time I was there. The unmasked customer then moved from the shampoo area and sat in the chair right next to me. Stephen did a great job. Sanela always does a great job - but I got the clear message that the convenience of the customer who refused to mask up was more important than my safety and comfort. read more

It's about time I give a review to my hairstylist in New York (it's only been almost 5 years now...), Senada Vela. If you have curly hair, she understands you. Trust. She will also steer you, very nicely, in the right direction if you want to be cray cray (like me). Because she knows I will have buyers remorse. Lol. With Senada V, I have gotten bolder with my hair choices (which is saying a lot for me, since I um am a creature of habit and hate change) and I love them! If I need something done at the last minute, they are usually able to squeeze me in and are very understanding when I have had to cancel too at the last minute. Also, I'm that person that never carries cash, so I am always either running across the street to get cash and/or bringing it at the next appointment for tips (they only take cash). But again they are very understanding. I would be remiss not to mention Sibi, the greatest hair assistant. She gives the best hair massages when washing your hair! I literally zone out and just let her go at it. She makes sure not to get water on your face nor in your ears. All the staff is really pleasant and they usually have a good assortment of cookies/bagels etc for you to nibble on and some wine flowing as well. First let me say this is a beautiful clean place and everyone really seems to know what they're doing.....you are usually happy with the "after" result. What sent me into a tail spin is what I was charged for services....I got a wash, cut and blow dry for 63.50!!! I've never paid that much for a haircut in my life. (That is in Brooklyn) I had my credit card out....it was the owner who charged me she grabbed the card out of my hand so fast it was crazy!! I've had an OK haircut, a great haircut, and a haircut I hate here. Yesterday, I saw a stylist who was friendly but I didn't like my hair after. I said no layers. She gave me layers and what I would call an old lady haircut, even though I showed her photos of what I wanted and said no layers multiple times. First, a big chunk of my hair was oddly longer than the rest. When I pointed it out, she cut it super short, giving me this weird chunky layer. When I asked why, she was defensive immediately: "Remember when you said it was too long?!" Yes, I'd noticed she'd left a huge chunk longer, pointed it out, and she cut it shorter than the rest of my hair. Why not just make it even? She then blamed it on the way I part my hair, which is a typical off center part that I showed her multiple times as she was cutting. Huh? She was then like "Well, don't you curl it most days anyway? You won't even seen it" Huh again? She then apologized and said I could come back in a month and she'd fix it by evening it all out... but I'm not coming back here again. The curls she gave me fell out 10 minutes later too, but I think it's because she was doing it fast, because I told her I hated my hair, and it was pretty awkward by then. This morning my hair was flat and listless, which is sad the morning after a salon visit! It's a real shame because I had a GREAT stylist last time who gave me a short bob. I was nervous because I was making a big change, but it looked amazing when it was done, and I'd sent a couple of friends to the salon. This last stylist I saw gave me a blowout and curl that literally lasted for a week too, and I was so thrilled. Unfortunately, I couldn't remember her name because I walked in off the street, and this salon didn't keep records of who did my hair.... Anyway, I'm bummed my hair looks weird now, and I won't be back. The first haircut I had here was a couple of years ago, and it was just a trim. Nothing notable. The service is too inconsistent here! From Ariel, the sylist, to environment, receptionist, and vibe this place has a great energy. Which is amazing, because I'm surprised they didn't turn me away when I walked through the door. I mean for g-d's sake I looked like "Cousin Itt" when I walked in. I swear I had waited so long to get my hair cut the Adams Family would be proud to have me as a member. I'm not sure how to rate this place, really. It's pretty, yes. But the service was... okay. I came here for a mani/pedi and lip wax. For starters, I could have gone somewhere cheaper. I thought I'd try this place to see the difference. The lip wax was alright. I've experienced less pain in other places. Not too bad. The pedicure process was nice. There are massage chairs which aren't that great but better than normal chairs. The lady didn't give much of a foot/leg massage which is a disappointment, since many places I've been to did a very good job with them, and some of the nail care hurt. Afterward, we did my manicure. The lady was very nice but she was rather distracted while doing my nails. I also got hit in the face with one of my nails while she was cutting them. And the dipping water was pretty much boiling. Finally, after spending OVER half an hour drying both hands and feet, and spraying quick dry on them at least 3x each, I left. Within five minutes, I managed to smudge my toes and my hands. How? Who knows. I normally don't smudge them that well and that quickly. But apparently you have to sit over an hour at the salon drying your nails. I'm not a happy camper. I overpaid for my mani/pedi only to have the work ruined. I have to repaint them at home. What was the point of that? I MIGHT come back for the lip wax, and only with a friend, but won't be getting my nails done here again. read more
