Got an ice cream sandwich after a Sharks game. Birthday cake flavor was my favorite after trying samples and chose that for my sandwich. Was very tasty! Highly recommend and the staff was very friendly felt like visiting a friend. Would recommend heading over there after a Sharks game. There were a few of us and other groups that went there after the game.
While in downtown San Jose, I decided to stop by here with friends. I sampled the chocoholic, cookie dough, and strawberry cheesecake before I ultimately opted to get a single scoop of strawberry cheesecake in a cup. The chocoholic is very chocolatey. The cookie dough was quite sweet, had almost an artificial-tasting tang to it, which I found a bit off-putting. The strawberry cheesecake was very sweet and reminded me of butter. I did like it overall but generally I prefer my cheesecake to taste more sour and not super sweeet. Overall it was decent and the price was not bad ($4.80 for the single scoop at the time when I went) and the location is convenient to reach by walking or public transit.
We visit Cream every so often, usually in the evening after dinner. It's a rather cramped location, and last night, it seemed 9 of us all had the same idea at the same time, so we all crammed in for a treat. Luckily, they have kiosks allowing you to place your order digitally rather than waiting for your order to be taken. I've only ever encountered 1 person working at a time, and it can get a little busy, but we've never waited too terribly long. The ice cream is great, you get quite a bit for the price, and while the staff is usually very quiet and head down, they are still nice and try their best to work quickly. There is no seating, inside or out, and they are often out of waffle cones, but the brownies, cookies, ice cream and gelato are all worth the trip.
Apparently, this is a popular dessert branch in NorCal. They specialize in ice cream and cookies. I think my only issue was that Yelp and Google hours indicated that the shop was open, they had the open sign light on, and then there was a paper sign stating that they were closed and out on break but gave no indication on when they'd be back. We were actually so close to just going to Insomnia Cookies but when we were there, their online cashier system was down. This was already after circling the area a couple times and it was during a con so we needed to get back, but in the nick of time, CREAM re-opened with their singular worker to help customers. I got their mini chocolate chip cookies (2) with a small scoop of their salted caramel ice cream. This was a little over $4 and is a small snack size if you don't wanna down a huge dessert. The ice cream, despite being freshly scooped was already melting quickly. The cookies were a bit "harder" than what I would expect from "freshly baked" cookies. Overall a bit mid, but maybe it was just an off weekend (though big L since it was during Fanime). PS. Idk who is running their official website but you freaking embedded a link to a paper writing service. Not sure if that was on purpose lmao.
After eating dinner at a city nearby, we decided we wanted some late-night dessert too. We went here on a Saturday around 12:20AM and there was a short wait! This icecream shop is VERY small, so it felt very crowded inside even with their lack of seats. I was looking for something easy to eat, so I got a sundae. For their sundaes, you get to build your own and choose the type of toppings to go with it. We ordered the Cookie Sundae w/ Rocky Road Icecream to share. This icecream was good and I thought it was cool how it contained a bunch of Oreo cookie crumbs and also let me choose my choice of cookie to add on top, which I ended up choosing their Snickerdoodle cookie. I'd recommend this place! I love how much variety they have. They sell other desserts ranging from icecream, cookie icecream sandwiches, sundaes, and icecream tacos too!
We love cream yes we do, we love cream how about you? The answer to that question is yes. Cream is a staple for us when visiting San Jose and we love the ice cream sandwiches. Not only are their ice cream fantastic but the choices of cookies makes it second to none! They even have options for vegans as well!
In town for the half marathon and walked over to Cream after dinner. 100 degree day and ice cream was the perfect treat! Cute little shop and the lady working was so nice! They had a great menu selection and I didn't think the prices were too outrageous either. I would definitely go back again.
We were craving cookies on a Sunday night, and initally stopped by Insomnia nearby, but they were closed for some emergency type of situation. So we ended up walking across the street to CREAM, knowing that they sell more than just ice cream here. Don't get me wrong, I love ice cream and I've had a nice helping of chocolate ON chocolate WITH chocolate here in the past (with their ice cream and cookie combinations), but I didn't realize how good their cookies alone were. We got the double chocolate, peanut butter, and chocolate chip cookies, and they were served fresh and hot out the oven (at 9:45pm!!). The cookies were fantastic, full of flavor and melted chocolate, soft and delicious... No, CREAM did not have an extensive menu of unique cookie options like their competitors across the street, and yes they were very small and thin cookies, but they tasted phenomenal, and were cheap enough that I can't really complain. CREAM is just a small space without seating, except a single table with two seats outside. But if you're willing to stand or take your goodies home, it's a great option to have for sweet treats in downtown SJ, and they're open late so that's a plus. Also, there is usually not too long of a wait whenever I visit, and the workers have always provided efficient and friendly service. As a reminder, parking is almost non-existent downtown (unless you get lucky), so be prepared to walk a few blocks.

I've been wanting to try this place for years. Unfortunately I came on Saturday 10/30 around 1045PM so there were tons of people on the street for Halloween. My chocolate chip cookie dough barely had any ice cream and the cookies are rock hard (video posted with the other videos). I'll give them another try but this was devastating after having to sit in traffic to get through the crowd and my order is incorrect and of poor quality read more

Cookies Rule Everything Around Me (CREAM)? Sounds good to me! This was my first visit to CREAM. Although I've known about this place for years since there's is a location in Berkeley and Palo Alto. I've walked past both sites but never felt the urge to wait in the long lines. Was it just the hype? I first experienced the cookie sandwich craze when I was around the UCLA area almost a decade ago at Diddy Reise. Similar concept, pick your cookie and then your ice cream. I came here with friends on a Tuesday evening after dinner for dessert. There was practically no wait. I chose to have two different cookies - cappuccino and snickerdoodle. I selected the Cup of Joe ice cream flavor for my center and opted to not have no toppings. The cookies were freshly baked or at least warm out of the oven. The snickerdoodle cookie had more flavor than the cappuccino one although both were good. My only complaint is that the cookies get hard fast. The coffee ice cream was okay but not the best coffee flavor. I wished it could be the Blue Bottle Vietnamese Coffee flavored ice cream from Humphrey Slocombe instead. I tried some of Ken L's green tea ice cream and thought it was pretty good. There ice cream is okay and nothing really too special so it's just the ice cream sandwich options and tacos that draw you on. It was about $2.50 for mine. Overall, I enjoyed my ice cream sandwich although I wished the cookies didn't get hard so fast and that I got the green tea ice cream instead. I tried a cappuccino cookie with cup of joe ice cream and thought it was delicious. You have around 6 cookie options and maybe 10 ice cream flavor options as well as toping options like walnuts, peanuts, sprinkles, etc. I didn't think I cared for CREAM when I first tried it in Berkeley where the snickerdoodle cookie I had was hard, not chewy and not warm. But the cookie that I had at this CREAM was warm and chewy and the ice cream was perfectly shaped/packed (plus it's HUGE!). I also was able to get a chocolate cookie with cookies and cream ice cream and peanuts togo (they put it in a bag of ice for you). Seasonal flavors for December includes the ice cream flavors egg nog and pumpkin. I tried the egg nog ice cream with a sugar cookie and sprinkles and it was delicious! The warm soft cookie complimented the cold ice cream. I like that their ice cream texture isn't too runny/soft but also isn't too hard. CREAM also caters for special events like weddings. I am anticipating eating their ice cream sandwiches again at an August wedding that I am attending. I don't know what there is to dislike other than difficult parking. The aesthetic appeal to the store itself and to the product = 1 extra star in my eyes. It's a novelty trend that I can imagine positively reminiscing about in decades to come. read more

Best.decision.ever. The chocolate chip cookie was freshly baked with the chocolate chips oozing on my fingertips. I overdid the chocolate chips with chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. I still thought it was really good though because the vanilla was more of the overpowering flavor. The only thing was that the parking was scarce & it was in downtown which was full of one way streets & aimless pedestrians. It cost $2.50 cash but $2.99 card. So bring CASH. It saves you 50cents every time. Other than that, I am interested in trying many other different flavors =D read more

I think the proper way to eat these is to remove one cookie, then eat the remaining cookie + ice cream open-faced, so that the ice cream doesn't squish out the side. Then eat the remaining cookie. One problem: the ice cream is very soft and melts fast. read more

What day is it? It's TACO Tuesday! Who likes eating Ice Cream in cold weather? I love desserts and I have been craving Ice Cream lately. CREAM (Cookie Rules Everything Around Me) has been a staple of Downtown San Jose for the last couple of years. I have been a couple of times and I usually get the the cookie with ice cream sandwich. My favorite cookie is the the white chocolate macadamia. They have a wide variety of ice cream flavors, over twenty different flavors with constant rotations of new flavors. They also have sixteen different toppings, so you can really customize your order. I got the Ice Cream Taco, which includes three scoops of ice cream and two toppings. For my ice cream, I got cookies and cream (my favorite), Blueberry Cheese cake, and pistachio delight. For my toppings, I got health toffee bar and peanuts. Every bite was so creamy and sweet, the nuts complimented ice cream so well. It's been forever since I gotten Ice Cream that I devoured the whole thing. We fell in love with CREAM in SF and then found out they cater! Our wedding was in South Bay, and we weren't interested in the traditional wedding cake ceremony, so we contacted the San Jose location to see what they could offer us. We opted to have two employees come serve dessert to our 110 guests who could choose from 3 cookies and 3 ice cream options. They didn't run out of anything, our guests were ecstatic for the unique and delicious treat, and we couldn't have been happier with the value and experience we got. They were professional, friendly, and at our service! Best of all, we stopped into the store about a month before the wedding (unannounced) and explained to the workers that we needed to select our cookie and ice cream flavors for the big day. They offered us whatever samples of ice cream we wanted and even helped us with details like which flavors were more popular and which flavors are better for catering events (considering which melt quicker, etc)! I went back yesterday and the service was great! I didn't get the guys name but he was awesome! He warmed up my brownie and again I got the churro ice cream but the sample of the butterscotch and the blueberry will definitely have me coming back. I want to try the green tea. Great experience! The brownie was warm! I had them put my ice cream/brownie sandwich in cup (wish they had lids)...much better experience. Although, the points system iPad was on low battery so I'll have to try it again next time. read more

CREAM is great. This place is awesome and much less crowded then the Palo Alto location. The customer service is awesome and the product produced is great. I love their white chocolate macadamia nut cookies with just about anything. The downside to this location is that it is really small... This location is such a hit or miss depending on who's working. Last night I came in after the Sharks game to get scoop on a sugar cone and a chocolate chip cookie. I got a regular cone instead of a sugar cone. The scoop was so tiny it doesn't even cover the opening of the cone. The cookie was folded over in half and it was so warm it was a melted chocolatey chip mess. For the price they charge, I expect a lot more than this. For anyone who is an ice cream sandwich fan, CREAM is definitely worth checking out for those to get a good quality ice cream sandwich for cheap. The store in general is pretty small so you probably won't be able to find a chair around to sit and enjoy than compared to the Palo Alto site, but essentially they're the same. The staff is very nice and want to make sure that you enjoy whatever you want them to make for you. They not only have ice cream sandwiches but also bowls, ice cream tacos, cookies, and other sweet goods. I recommend getting the bowls (with a cookie of course) because eating a sandwich WILL get messy. I guarantee you that because those cookies can be pretty warm out of the oven. Make sure you bring cash because you spend only $2.50 instead of $3.00 for credit! Overall, I love the flavors they give out (not just the typical vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, etc. but deluxe flavors; you have to go and check it out because there's too many), the price is just right, and the overall environment is definitely enjoyable. Wow just finished getting ice cream sandwiches for me and a few friends. It was our first time here. The ice cream was good but the customer service was absolutely horrible. I been a manger for over a decade and this was sad to see an employee acting like this. She had blond hair. I will never come back here. Asked questions about how it works and we got the worst attitude from this girl. Right in front of us, she talks about us to the other employee. In today's world customer service is everything. So my girlfriend's and I decided to make a quick stop after bar hopping in downtown san jose. I mean after all, its literally right across the street from all the bars. It was kinda packed but the lines move slowly. The service was great however. There was so many to choose from because the Berkley location is a bit more simple but one of the workers helped me picked the perfect cookies for my choice of mint chocolate chip ice cream. Its nice that CREAM opened a new location in San Jose but they could' have selected a nicer location. Walking down here we noticed a lot of ghetto people all around posted looking at everyone. I felt like I was in Oakland. Also, really small inside. You can only fit a few people at a time and it makes it difficult to move to the register to pay when the line is inside the little space this locations has. One thing I didn't like was that we ordered a regular cookie sandwich but we wanted the ice cream in a cup because we didn't want to eat the cookies at that moment. It also get pretty messy. So the employee told us that we would get charged for a single scoop and two cookies which I think is lame. I mean, next time I'll just order a cookie sandwich ans ask for an empty cup. Put the ice cream in the cup and save the cookies for later. This way, I don't have to get charged for two cookies and a single scoop. Their belly/fivestars card thingy wasn't up and running meaning that I didn't get the points for my purchase. Please don't be mad at me CREAM. I still love you guys. Just not this location. Their specialty is in their name. Cookies. That's what really good about this place. Straight from the oven, delicious, and just plain good. I would come back here just for the cookies. My disappointment with this place is the ice cream. I ordered the pistachio delight to sit in the middle of my two sugar cookies. When I bit into it, I thought that they had given me the wrong ice cream. It tasted nothing like pistachio. On closer examination, I saw pistachio nuts in it, but I was expecting flavors that I was used to. It was like a sweet cream mixed with nuts (totally not what I was expecting). I understand that if they make their own ice cream and everything is made from scratch things will taste differently, but people have a certain expectation of how their ice cream should taste. Maybe because they added the word "delight" at the end of the name gives them creative license to change it the way they see fit. I think I will go back for the cookies and to try the other flavors, but I'll probably ask for a sample before I make this mistake again. read more

Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned customer, totally drunk or as sober as it gets, super duper young or a veteran of life, you will LOVE Cream. My first CREAM experience was in Berkeley right by Cal, but I love this Cream so much more. The staff are ALWAYS super efficient during the evening hours when I visited...and they are not pushy, rude, or stressful. At a quick service joint like Cream, the employees truly go above and beyond to make your sweet tooth dreams come true. My personal favorite combos are lemon + snickerdoodle + strawberry cheesecake ice cream, or chocolate + choco chip + cookie dough ice cream. BUT whatever choice you make...it'll be good--so no worries there. I'm still trying to get through all of the cookie and ice creams flavors (like a boss), but it'll take some time. I usually find myself at CREAM after a night of prolonged drinking...or just hanging out with good friends--so I have seen all sorts of characters lining up and out the door for their sweet fix. Fun tip, CREAM plays hella bay ghetto/beats towards the end of a weekend night. SO hurry your butt down there and get some delicious sweets with smiley and hard-working servers! read more

The line is long but moves very quickly. Quick to order, quick to make sandwiches, quick to pay. I came at 10pm on a Sunday night. The cookies start off warm but cool very quickly, melting the ice cream in the process. My lips and all 10 fingers were not spared from the sticky mess. Then again, I am a voracious eater. Good, cold, super sweet bite for relatively cheap, though for the money, I would opt for boba or other sweet treat. I like cookies and ice cream separately, but the combination of the two just creates such a mess that I am incapable of controlling. Furthermore, for the ice cream and cookie flavors I've tried, nothing really stood out to me as "amazing, 10 out of 10 would do again". Not for the faint of heart. I like this location better than the PA one. The only minus star here is cuz the flavors on the menu are not the flavors they have that day, and it creates false hopes. Anyway, all four other stars are because the service here ROCKS! Due to the aforementioned discrepancy with the menu's flavors and the available flavors, I took my sweet time ordering. The server was super nice about it, let me sample multiple flavors and then made me a damn good ice cream sammy - rolled perfectly in fruity pebbles! Bravo - I wish I'd gotten his name so I could give him a shoutout (though everyone on the staff was super cool and nice). Definitely recommend this location (and Cream in general - it's delicious). Love that this location is in walking distance from work. Afternoon around lunch the line is often seen out the door. I usually wait until later afternoon when there is no line. Ice cream was good. Staff was courteous and nice. It took a while to check out. If I was in a rush at all, I would have been annoyed, but I was on vacation so I had all the time in the world. There a bunch of different ice cream and cookie combinations. I think around 10+ cookies and at least 15+ ice creams. If you're a big fan of ice cream sandwiches, CREAM is the place to come to. You can mix and match your cookies, choose your ice cream, and your toppings to create your own special ice cream sandwich to your liking. I'm a big fan of chocolate chip cookies and cream sure has one of the best chewy crispy chocolaty cookies i've tried thus far. Their chocolate ice cream was good and i topped it with oreo crumbs. So many different combinations you can do here. if you're not into creating your own dessert you can just get a scoop of your favorite ice cream or just get a cookie to fix your sweet tooth. I came here on a Friday after getting some drinks that paper planes. This establishment closes at 2 a.m., there was a lot of people lined up to get some ice cream after hit in the bars and clubs. Disestablishment is on the smaller side, therefore it seems like there's a lot of people and the line generally goes out the door. But it's ice cream so why not. Well about cream is that you can make your own ice cream sandwich. You can also throw different cookies, together with different ice creams, and a pretty good assortment of toppings. The toppings range from gummy bears, peanuts, chocolate sprinkles and Fruity Pebbles. You pretty much just tell the staff what you want. They make it right in front of you. The big difference is that the Scoops depend on the employee who Scoops it. For the most part they are very efficient with how many people are coming in. Tonight I got something different than what I usually get. There is an option for a taco ice cream sandwich. This was an awesome Choice, cuz it three different flavors, and a taco shell and you can have two different toppings. I just shows chocolate sprinkles and that was enough for me. My wife got the ice cream sandwich. Here you can only get one type of ice cream, but you can pick two different cookies. She picked I believe Snickerdoodle and chocolate chip. What I thought was really cool is that why friend is allergic to Dairy. They have soy milk options for those that are unable to eat dairy products. She said the ice cream was so pretty good considering it wasn't a dairy milk product, and really enjoyed her decision. Flying does move relatively fast, I can't imagine them taking very long to scoop ice cream together and make your sandwich. And then we decided to eat it outside. It was kind of cold but eating ice cream is well, awesome. So it was well worth it. I think this establishment stays open past the last call. San Jose's last call I believe is at 1 a.m. Overall you can never go wrong with ice cream. They're not as many choices compared to other ice cream places, but it does the job. I would really recommend that taco sandwich. It is the same amount as a regular cream ice cream sandwich but you got more flavors and it's in my opinion more filling. read more

Yeah, i used to work here and what I was told was that both the vegan cookies and Soy blueberry/mint chocolate chip are made with soy.
