    Yogurt toppings
    Stacy C.

On my way home from work this evening I decided to stop for frozen yogurt. The last time I had it, a couple years ago at a place in my neighborhood (not Yogurtland), it tasted horrible. Like eating chemicals. Enough time had passed that I was ready to try it again, but at a different yogurt shop. I ended up at Yogurtland in downtown San Jose, right by SJSU. It was my first time there. There was no line when I went in. I got a little bit of pistachio yogurt and a lot of Dutch chocolate in one bowl. I went overboard with the toppings, adding peanuts, fresh strawberry pieces, toffee, chocolate covered almonds, crumbled peanut butter cups, and mini Reese's Pieces. It was the best frozen yogurt I have ever tasted. It was creamy and smooth and the perfect amount of sweet. I intended to take a few bites and then take the rest home, but I couldn't stop eating it. The shop was pretty clean and the fruit toppings looked fresh with vibrant colors. The person behind the counter was friendly. I'm looking forward to trying other Yogurtlands to see how they compare.

This Yogurtland has some super nonchalant workers -- not rude, just kinda there. The yogurt itself isn't like other Yogurtlands I've been to . It was icy instead of creamy, so the texture was lowkey disappointing. Probably won't come back because of that. The store overall was okay, but it wasn't super clean... kinda dirty tbh.

Back at a Yogurtland after a long time. Got the tart froyo and fruit to keep it relatively healthy as opposed to my usual 1:3 froyo:toppings ratio. Was a good snack.

Thank you for taking the time to review the situation and respond. I do appreciate your willingness to follow up. That said, I want to respectfully push back on a few points. While I understand that your overhead cameras may have captured the visual aspect of the interaction, they likely did not capture the audio, or at least, not clearly enough to reflect the tone used by your staff. What may have appeared "courteous and professional" on video did not feel that way in person. From the moment I asked about samples and was told they weren't available, I was met with dismissiveness and a noticeably rude tone from both employees. I tried to calmly navigate the situation by sampling with a regular cup and a clean spoon, since no alternatives were offered. I wasn't attempting to be disrespectful, I simply wanted to try a flavor, as many customers expect to be able to do at Yogurtland. When I was told I couldn't use the cup, I cooperated by discarding the yogurt. The way this was framed as "splashing" or "creating a mess" is a mischaracterization of my intent. I even tried to de-escalate the situation by expressing understanding, saying, "I can only imagine how frustrated you must be." Instead of meeting that with professionalism, the staff immediately told me I had to leave. This wasn't about policy, it was about how that policy was communicated. There was no kindness or patience in the way I was addressed. I respect health codes and store rules, but I also believe they can be enforced with decency and a willingness to treat people like people, not like problems. I hope this gives a fuller picture of what happened beyond what the cameras may show. Thank you again for your time and for taking my feedback seriously.

Went for the buy one get one free National Froyo Day deal (which was why there was a bit of a line). Loved the cute spoons for Valentine's Day!

Food: My go to is the Alphonso Mango Tart with mango popping balls, mochi, and strawberries on top. Hits the spot for me every single time. Sometimes I'll add a mixed granola with blueberries on top once I'm home Ambiance: Friendly staff and you can enjoy your treat there or grab & go. Parking: Street parking only and good luck on finding a place to park.

When it comes to soft serve, Yogurtland is by far my favorite. This location in particular because it brings me back to my college days, where I came here weekly. After dinner down the block and eating a ton of meats, something sweet was in order, so it only made sense to come here. My favorite flavors are the fresh strawberry, cookies n cream, and plain tart. The flavors really stand out and is the perfect consistency. For toppings the cheesecake bites are the best, plus some chopped peanuts, I absolutely inhaled this thing. Prices have definitely risen, but that's everything in 2023. Spent $14 for two people, and my friend got a minuscule amount. The place definitely needs some TLC because it looked messy and sticky. Didn't deter me from enjoying my dessert though.

I ordered their fresh sugarcane drink, and wow -- it was incredibly refreshing, perfectly balanced, and tasted so pure and natural. You could really tell it was made with real sugarcane; it was lightly sweet, crisp, and incredibly thirst-quenching. It paired beautifully with the desserts! Then came the star of the show: their macarons. These were easily some of the best I've ever had. The shells were perfectly crisp on the outside with that ideal chewy center, and the fillings were rich, flavorful, and not overly sweet. It's an interesting blend that kind of works, even if it takes a second to figure out what the "theme" is supposed to be. They offer a wide range of desserts and drinks. On one side, you've got items like tartufo (chocolate, cappuccino, limoncello, pistachio), sorbets, and cheesecake slices in the display case. On the other side, they have traditional Vietnamese-style desserts like sweet soups (chè), grass jelly, black-eyed bean pudding, and combo desserts with things like cassava, jelly, and coconut. There's also a solid drink menu with milk teas, fruit teas, smoothies, and specialty coffees. I ordered the latte with matcha foam, and while I don't usually go for sweet drinks, this one was definitely on the sweeter side--but still really good. The matcha foam added a nice earthy balance to the coffee underneath. My friend got the three-color iced drink (the one with layered beans and jelly), and if you're into that texture and flavor profile, you'd probably enjoy it. The service stood out. The man helping us (possibly the owner) was very friendly, patient, and took the time to explain menu items, which I appreciated since some of the desserts aren't as familiar if you haven't had them before. The display case also looked well-stocked and clean, with everything neatly packaged and labeled, which made it easy to browse. Overall, it's a solid spot if you're in the area and want something a little different from the usual dessert shops. The only reason it's not a full 5 stars is because the concept feels slightly all over the place, but the quality, variety, and service definitely make it worth checking out.
