Went to Greenport for a one day trip a few days ago. Looked through a bunch of restaurants/cafes and decided on crazy beans. We were not wrong with our choice! The Hercules sandwich and lobster grilled cheese were both great and worth its value. I also ordered their marshmallow iced latte, could be a bit sweet for some but I enjoyed it. I've read quite a few reviews about the smell of the bathrooms, but I didn't notice anything when I went in. The decorations and design of the place is beautiful! read more

The stand-out item, when we went for breakfast, was the corned beef hash. It had a good ratio of meat-to-potato, and was prepared crisp, as requested. Other than that, everything was typical, though maybe you shouldn't go by me. The reviews, as you can see are excellent, and people line up to get in. (I'm sorry, I don't get it.) Everybody's eggs were okay, the coffee good and the service friendly and helpful. Rather than typical breakfast fare, I opted for the day's special of chicken salad on greens. The chicken salad was bland. Throw in some grapes! Throw in some nuts! The greens were primarily lettuce, with little else. I agree that the ambience is a charming throw back to simpler days. But you can't eat ambience! 'Nuff said. read more

Hearty breakfast options and good drinks to boot. Definitely worth a visit and you won't leave hungry. Simple foods with that home cooked feel. I had the poached eggs with toast, home fries and chicken sausage, and we also sampled the eggs and corned beef hash, omelette and french toast over the course of the weekend - the omelettes are well worth a try! Service was excellent - attentive and really friendly. Only negative comment is around the 'no outside drinks' policy - I get it but myself and a number of others were told the wait would be over 30 mins so we go grab a coffee, but no sooner have we got it than we get buzzed for our table and are then told we can't bring our coffee in. I'd suggest let the odd outside coffee slide or even better...when you let people know they have a wait, remind us they can buy a drink from you to go while we wait. Minor comment but an easy fix. read more

Cute retro spot with a fun menu! Crazy coffee flavors and super delectable fattening breakfast choices.

LOVE the breakfast! A slight twist on the norm. I get one of their specialty latte's and LOVE that too! Service is great. ALWAYS a pleasant crew read more

We were in town for a long weekend celebrating our daughter's wedding. Stopped in for breakfast Friday. Such a cute little spot. I had the oatmeal with berries and it was outstanding. My husband had An omelette and home fries and it was delicious. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend. read more

The food is very high quality. The service is great! The atmosphere and decor is perfect for Greenport.

If you want the most mediocre breakfast on Long Island this is the place for you. Ordered the most basic thing possible, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, well done bacon, home fries and an English muffin. The eggs were murdered, like hard , dry balls covered in cheese. The bacon was greasy and you could've chipped a tooth. Home fries were obviously frozen from a bag dropped in the deep fryer-horrible. English muffin was almost straight out of the package, like barely toasted. Does it sound like I'm nitpicking? I'm not, it wasn't good. Coffee was ok and service was fine. read more

I have gone to my fair share of diners, but this is by far the funnest one I have been to. In the heart of the quaint town of Greenport, Crazy Beans offers a very unique and original dining experience. The owner walks around, and is very interactive with the customers. If you are a fan of wraps, Crazy Beans is the place for you! There are not a lot to choose from, but all of them looked delicious. The wait was a little long but I think it is because they get so busy. Come early, it closes at 4pm. Breakfast/lunch only. On the menu, they share the story of the actual owner and how she built Crazy Beans. I know that isn't something to come for, but I have never seen that done before. They also have sick lattes. I got a Reeses Latte and it was gone in a second. I had the Ranch Pesto Wrap. It may sound "healthy," but it was actually so good. My fiance got the Chicken Caesar wrap and she loved it too. If you are down at Greenport, you got to make it to Crazy Beans for lunch. read more

the worst experience ever. I came to this place for 21 years. It's run by teenager, no sense of responsibility, no respect, no sense of customer service. When I complained to the girl who was I paying to her, I told her I am a good tipper but I am not going to leave a tip, a teenager server latino, came aggressively, told me you don't like it go somewhere else... I hope the owner will read this review. I had a brunch for mother day last week-end for the whole family.... What a shame read more

First time eating at the Greenport location and as always the food and drinks are incredible. The fall menu had so many amazing latte options I had a hard time choosing. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Only wish the Beetlejuice Chai has a few toppings without the whipped cream, but the latte was still delicious. read more

This is my first time in Greenport, NY and I didn't know where to go for breakfast, so I instantly went to Yelp and saw the reviews for this place and decided that we had to go and try it out. I also noticed that there were a good amount of people in this restaurant, so trying this place was a definite must. A good crowd must be a good sign, am I right?! We ended up ordering 3 lattes, which were amazing, and 4 corned beef hashes and 1 avocado wrap, and everything was good. I don't even think that there was any food left on any of the plates! The waitress was also really nice, so that made the experience even better. I think that this place is pretty good for breakfast and I would recommend it. read more

Such a quirky and funky place was calling us for breakfast so wee decided to try it when we were in the aree. It's a good thing we got there early because it got crowded as we were leaving. Coffee was excellwnt. I had a latte with some cinnamon and it came with a smily face ;). The crab cakes benedict was delicious. The English muffin was delish and full of bite. The crab cake was amazing (although a little thin). The poached egg was perfectly runny. I was a little diappointes with the hollandaise - it was tasty but definitely seemed to be hardening befoRe it came to the table. The chocolate chip pancakes were great. The jelly donut pancakes were tasty but we were expecting something other thaN pancakes with some jelly (amazing raspberry jelly!) on top. Perhaps if the jelly was layered bEtween the pancakes instead of being juSt scooped on top it would Have been better. There was nothing wrong with the flavor but it was more like regular pancakes. Service was friendly and fun. We were well taken care of and enjoyed our experience. read more

Crazy Beans is a fun place! The decor is cute, and there's a huge variety of food options, including a good number of vegetarian choices. (Most of the menu has egg or dairy, though, so you'd want to look into it if you need vegan.) It's gluten free/celiac friendly, as well. The portions are small by American standards: if I'm paying $12 for a breakfast bowl at a diner, I expect it to be on the big side, and it wasn't. I visited on a weekday late afternoon (maybe 3 PM?), so it wasn't crowded; it gets packed on weekends and peak times, so beware. read more

The best breakfast I've had in years! Really hearty, fresh delicious and very creative breakfast entrees. Usually crowded, so be prepared to wait...but no worries, they use a paging device so you can walk around the cute Greenport village, do some shopping, etc while waiting to be called. There's a counter where you can dine--especially useful if you're solo. Our food: first of all, we wanted to order everything! But we settled on a custom greek omelette with spinach mushrooms and feta; and one of the daily specials: a two-egg, bacon, tomato and avocado wrap with spicy hot sauce. It was so large I could only eat half. Also tried the legendary avocado fries which were "as advertised": awesome! Our service was typical of a diner/coffee shop, friendly but rushed. All the staff appeared to be in their twenties, so the place has a hip, young vibe--the kind you'd expect in Portland or Seattle. One slight negative was the bread that came with the omelet. It was multigrain. Thick slices and lightly toasted, but tasteless. Zero flavor at all surprisingly, so only had a few bites. In all, worth the wait and would definitely return! read more

Torn between 2-3 stars. Smell of the bathroom was quite disgusting. We had to move tables because it was so unpleasant while waiting for food. Corn and crab chowder had good flavor but no crab that I could detect. Certainly no chunks of crab. The corn was quite plentiful. Corned beef hash was significantly more potato than corned beef. It was like shredded hash browns with some shreds of corn beef. Service was cheerful but I would likely go for somewhere else next time. read more

My wife and I were in Greenport for a wedding this weekend and were looking for a brunch spot. We settled on Crazy Bean and we are very glad we did. Fantastic local diner! Love the culture and spirit of this place. Staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Food was awesome, the chicken salad on a bed of lettuce was delicious and the Rueben was enormous. Also loved the sweet potato tots and avocado fries. Love the story of the owners and the manager shared her friendship and move to Greenport. Entrepreneurship at its best!!! read more

Terrible food, terrible service. Like school cafeteria food, but even worse. Run by teenagers and food tasted like it was cooked by teenagers too. Eggs cooked by someone who obviously has no control over whether something is over-easy or well done. Eggs Benedict curiously covered in a bright orange cheese sauce made from American cheese. Staff was rude on top of it. We didn't have utensils, and not even an apology when we asked them 3 times. Shockingly bad. A shame because it's a cute spot and the owners story is nice. We thought it looked promising but was a complete disappointment and not worth the wait at all. read more

We ordered omelettes which were just okay. I like whole wheat toast, and was fine with the one slice of toast but I found it odd. Normal diners or breakfast joints serve 2 slices of toast. My hubby on the other hand likes white toast... no place we visited served white toast. Didn't live the omelette. It was kind of overdone. The hubby agreed. Potatoes are served as extras and were average. The meal was average. Maybe a bad day. I see it does get good reviews. read more

Awesome, relaxed, fun, spacious diner in Greenport. We had no trouble getting seats on a Saturday morning for brunch. Their menu is incentive and unique and we absolutely devoured our delicious breakfast. The lobster hash was out of this world and the fried avocado breakfast wrap was also killer. Big cups of iced coffee served in mason jars was the perfect way to top it all off. read more

If Callie and Tim were their own version of the BeeGees, they would have their own song called, "Stayin' cah-ray-zeeeeee!!!" They have managed to do it again and this time, they've dialed it up a few notches while ensuring their consistency of craziness. It is remarkable to see the following that this restaurant has - folks from infants to the elderly flock for their crazy creations and keep coming back. This crazy eater walked in and sat at the bar, saw familiar faces (Sam and Callie), and proceeded to order a stupendous egg sandwich that was perfectly on point. Two oozy eggs, perfectly medium crispy bacon, avocado, onions, tomatoes, on healthy toast. If it isn't First and South for a proper brunch in Greenport and I am craving a quick egg sandwich, CB is where its at. THIS has been a review by Gaurav read more

Big mistake arriving 9:30 am on a busy Sunday morning in Greenport. We ended up waiting approximately 45 minutes. I almost gave up and went to Bruce's across the street. Well I did not pass out and we ordered breakfast immediately and about 10 minutes later our food arrived. I think anything would have been great after waiting so long to eat but all of the items we ordered were very good. It was tough deciding what to order, so many good choices but after studying the menu for 45 minutes we all knew what we wanted. I got the neato burrito for only $7.95, 2 eggs over easy, sauteed mushrooms, carmelized onions, home fries and american cheese. This and several other items are meat free. Another yelper indicated that they have almost no vegetables. My wife had the egg white 7 grain baguette which included egg whites, tomatoes, spinach and avocado, a healthy alternative to the meaty sandwiches. My daughter had the avocado breakfast wrap. All 3 menu items were very good and filling. Excellent coffees, iced coffee and lattes served in mason jars. The lattes are popular and are more like dessert than a breakfast drink. Service was excellent. Our waitress arrived almost immediately to take our order and brought out coffee a minute later and food about 10 minutes. Considering how packed the place was they do a great job getting orders in and quickly serving hungry diners. Nice retro 1950's decor. Downside is the small size and bathroom at the back of the restaurant. There are tables right next to the bathroom door and if your unlucky some foul odors may drift over in your direction. read more

Classic meals with a fun, contemporary twist. This is the perfect spot for a hearty, weekend breakfast or brunch. Many in my group enjoyed the egg quesadilla. Each meal was served with a generous proportion. Crazy beans has a nice selection of breakfast cocktails and lattes. I really enjoyed the cookie butter and cinnamon coffee. We had a large group of 8, but they accommodated us very quickly. Feels like a funky diner inside. Casual but definitely a fun atmosphere for locals and visitors alike. read more

Crazy Beans is a really cute little retro spot in Greenport that's dishing up breakfast all day long and tasty lunches. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the décor, reminiscent of a 50s diner, which sets it apart from other places. We went for lunch while family was in town and we all left satisfied and happy with our choice to go here. We ended up getting their BLT (stacked with bacon and fresh LT), the lobster roll (filled to the brim with lobster salad, fries, and coleslaw), and my favorite for the day was their Cuban sandwich (pulled pork, grilled ham, fried pickles). Both the Cuban and the lobster roll were pretty big and could have been split but I wasn't mad about taking half of that glorious sandwich home with me. The prices for lunch were reasonable especially for being out East. Our server was also really nice and helpful with questions about the menu. This will definitely be a stop I make next time I'm in town! read more
