It's been a minute since I've had legit Cajun style crawfish so I had to get my fix while I was in Bellevue. As it's located in a strip mall parking is easy. We decided to get the combo 5 which is good for 2-3 people. It included (1lb of crawfish, jumbo snow crab, shrimp, corn, potatoes) and we added sausage. Everything was good but I have to say Boiling Crab is still my #1 (sorry) however with that said, there was nothing left at the end so you know we still liked it. Being closer to home I would come back again and recommend to other Vancouverites wanting crawfish. read more

10/10 place Crawfish chef is the best seafood boil place out of all the places I've been to. The service is amazing, food comes out fast and the place looks good inside!! They have TVs everywhere and music playing in the background! I've had Katrina be my server on multiple occasions and she is amazing! read more

What a delicious experience! Our family of 4 decided to order the number seven combo and add eggs and French bread. We also got chicken strips for our littlest since he wasn't huge into a seafood boil yet. Everything was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. We asked for mild seasoning and the house flavor, which came out a little spicy but was very tasty. Staff was really nice and came by to check on us during the meal. It came to around $200 for all four of us with the tip. read more

I was initially skeptical as other "crawfish boil" places have overcooked the seafood, but after one visit, I went back the next day again! My wife and I tried their Combo #1 as a "take it for the team" to try out this new-ish place in Bellevue. It was delicious with their Cajun spice mild. The sauce was much more umami than a typical Cajun seasoning. Did we taste Vietnamese fish sauce and lemon grass? It was nevertheless loaded with garlic and finger-licking yumminess. Service was exemplary. After taking our order, the server came with a basket of gloves (excellent quality that didn't develop holes even with spiky crawfish!!), bibs, lime slices and a little plastic cup of additional spice in case we thought we thought it needed supplementing. Soon enough, the seafood came in a bag with all the goodness sealed inside on a stainless steel tray. We cut it open with the scissors provided and our mouths instantly salivate with the aroma. Freshly boiled, it was all scalding hot but we dig in anyway. The shrimp were large, juicy and fresh. We elected for the head-on as the best part was to pull the head off and suck out the head coral. This was where the Crawfish Chef lost a star.... they did not de-vein the shrimp and on many of them, you got a mouthful of grit if you didn't clean it after taking the shell off. Check out the YouTube videos on the easiest and quickest way to de-vein shrimp. I promise you its really easy and a step that you really need to take. The next night, we were back with company and had the larger Combo #7 and added a pound of clams as another review said that the clams were the best thing. They were really out of this world. Huge, sweet, and perfectly cooked. The snow crab clusters and legs were huge and meaty. Almost King Crab sized. The Dungeness Crabs pieces were just as good. We got one and a half crabs in the bag. So, a very good-sized serving for 4 of us even though the Combo #7 was billed as a meal for 3 - 4. We will be back! read more

This is just a garbage bag of food served in the most disgusting way. I'm not sure how to eat this without getting covered in it even the dog doesn't want to contend with it. We did taste some shrimp which was OK, but did not taste so fresh we had the chicken wings That also tasted like old chicken not bad but not fresh either looking at the corn it does not look in good condition. I asked for it mild it is not mild. I grew up on the East Coast loving seafood, but this is disgusting and it is not high-quality. You can just see about half the kernels on the corn are rotted. You can do other things in sauce, but if it's rotted, it's rotted. Chalk it up to truly disgusting. read more

The history of American dining is one of previously reluctant ethnic inclusion, and resultant diversity in flavor palette. Crawfish Chef in Bellevue is a true example of the adorable idea-children America bore from the Conniving French Settlers of Nova Scotia's betrothal to Louisiana. Move aside tractors and embarrassing surrenders, the south and France have something new to their names! Honestly, one of the best restaurants i've been to, and there is DEFINITELY a memorable night in store for you if you heed my advice to check this flava partay out. wicka-wicka-word. I pride myself on my hip language, and connection to young folk. I just get them. This restaurant, however, has classics and pioneering recipes in store for "uncs" and "jits" alike. The crawfish was great, but much of its appeal was in its cultural value as a hillbilly classic. I say this because the organs aren't very tasty even for the bold, so eaters are relegated to the smallish tail. Flavor is like a less tender, more flavorful shrimp. The Dungeness crab was delicious, and was cooked perfectly, coming off of shell in large, buttery clods. Call this restaurant a costco the way it be full of weirdly huge fans, like yours truly. I ordered the crab and crawfish in the impeccable immersion of an intrepid house sauce, with recognizable character rivaling Ramsay's Wellington. I wish I could buy this sauce by the tub, and bathe in it, hoping to gain even a fraction of its golden magnificence in my bones. The shrimp was delicious, and I recommend head on, as it carries a pertinent bang/buck ratio what with the head's nice flavor. I had this in the cajun sauce, which I garunTEE will inspire hitting a reserved jig. You may not be getting LIT, per-say, but could at least be getting embered, or warmed. "You don't know me, son!", I said intimidatingly in response to my waitress asking what spice level of the two boil sauces I wanted. Suffice it to say...I was sobbing and wailing loudly upon trying that sweet sweet sauce. The families around me stared in horror, as I molted, leaving behind my outer layer of skin and revealing my true form. Happy Crawfishing! 10/10 read more

Great seafood!!!! Friendly and helpful staff. No real ambiance though (if you're looking for that) but the place was spotless! And I DO think that matters! They closed early like 20 mins and I came really far to eat even asked if I could order to go and they had already closed the kitchen even though I thought they would be open until 11pm on a Saturday night. The signage is hidden, but you'll spot it if you walk around 106th Street, like I did, to see the lunch menu. I visited Superkim Crab House on a Sunday afternoon earlier this month. Upon walking in, there weren't a lot of diners, but at most, two tables total about 12 people within the two tables. We were greeted by Zack, who allowed us to pick where to sit. He was a very welcoming and kind server. Zack allowed us to look at the menu but provided us with some of his favorite dishes to help us narrow down what we wanted to dine on. He mentioned the clam chowder and crab croquettes as being a few of his favorite dishes, and we were very intrigued by them, so we ordered them to start with. We were not disappointed with either of the items! The crab croquette and clam chowder were so flavorful, and the crab croquette was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. For drinks, we decided to order from the mocktails menu: Lychee Lemonade, which had a strong taste of the cucumber, was an okay drink, but if you love cucumbers, you'll like it; Prickly Mint, was more my liking, as it had more of the fruity cranberry taste; and then the Mango Spritz, which my friend wasn't a big fan of the taste. In terms of food, we were thinking about the boil, but in the end, we decided on two entree dishes: The Holy Crab and the Dungeness Crab Fried Rice. The menu clearly shows three pepper icons next to The Holy Crab, and they were not kidding about the spice! It was spicy! The spiciness gradually kicked in after consuming it, but don't get me wrong, it was still a delicious dish! The Crab Fried Rice was also very flavorful, and we used that to cool down our palettes after a spoonful of The Holy Crab. The restaurant's atmosphere was pleasant. It wasn't too loud or quiet, and ample space between the tables. The bathrooms were interesting. I believe they kept the Lot No.3 bathroom layout with the industrial look, and there were gender-neutral individual bathroom stalls. There are two levels for seating, so if you choose to, you can also sit upstairs for a more private dining experience. Within about 10 minutes of us being seated at our table, Mr. Kim, the head chef, came to visit and chatted with us for a bit. He was very kind and welcoming, ensuring we enjoyed our time at his restaurant. Overall, our experience dining at Superkim Crab House was superb! Everything was terrific in terms of service and hospitality. We interacted with the great waitstaff, including Zach and Trish, who made us feel like we were chatting with friends. The food was delicious, but the price was somewhat on the high side for the portion size. However, the quality of the food was worth it. We heard that their Happy Hour menu is a good value, so I will try it out when it is available, M - F, 3PM - 6PM. TL:DR Get the crab croquette and clam chowder for sure! The Holy Crab is a very spicy dish, so get it if you like a lot of spice! The staff is friendly and helpful! Happy Hour is M - F, 3PM - 6PM. Parking in the parking garage is free for now, while construction is being done in the area.

Wow, what a feast! Everything came out fresh, steaming, and packed with flavor. The House Garlic Butter sauce was insanely good, rich, garlicky, and full of that bold Cajun kick. The green mussels were loaded up (and absolutely delicious!), the shrimp were HUGE, and the snow crab was spot-on perfect. Every bite felt like seafood heaven. This dish was spicy and flavorful with lots of spicy peppers and peppercorn. A very numbing dish that requires you to eat with rice. They place the pot on top of an open flame for you to enjoy. A must try item! Dan Dan noodles: I like this way better than DTF. It was flavorful and spicy but a bit salty. Chili oil dumplings: The dumplings were soft and silky, which made the dish very soupy. It wasn't too spicy which was great considered that there were too many spicy items already ordered. Overall, a solid restaurant to try. It was our first time trying Hunan/Sichuan cuisine and it did not disappoint! If your palate can handle spicy, then this place is a must try. I will for sure come back and try their other dishes. Just expect to wait for a bit since it can get busy.

My daughter ordered the Phad See Eiw with tofu. The server delivered the wrong noodle dish, I immediately said that it wasn't what we ordered; she ignored me, dropped it off and left for the next table where they informed her that she had swapped the dishes. The salmon was quite good, seared and crispy around the edges. The curry wasn't spicy at all, so I had to add the full side of spicy sauce. The spicy sauce made it spicy enough, but it was sour. I tried to explain this to the server; instead of hearing me out she immediately brought more spicy sauce. Finally I was able to get them to cook the curry with the spicy sauce making it less sour and the flavor was good. The rice was definitely insufficient for the amount of curry ordered, which I found strange given how cheap rice is. I tried my daughters noodles. They use a cheaper oil and added lots of sugar, making it a sub par dish. We also ordered a young coconut, but it wasn't that young and the meat was hard. At $12 for an item that costs $1.50 I was underwhelmed. Overall the dishes were hit and miss, and the service was sub par. Try it at your own risk.

Dongbei Harvest is a recent Chinese restaurant addition to the Belred area in Bellevue, and having…read morenever tried Dongbei food myself, I was excited to give this place a go. We went on a Friday around 6PM and had a 10 minute wait to get seated - the place itself is busy and by the time our name was called, there was a crowd of 10-15 people gathering in the waiting area. There is plenty of parking for the restaurant as it is located in a strip mall. Even though we went during a peak hour, the flow of traffic in and out of the mall was constant - fortunately leaving convenient spots open as soon as you pull in. Ambiance is nice, there are plenty of Chinese decorations, and there are tables and chairs in the style of rural China. If you don't want to order the big pot - they will bring you to a table where the pot is closed with a lid. Ordering is done through their QR code menu, and the servers will come by afterwards to double check your order before sending it to the kitchen. Do note, if you want to order the big iron pot, it takes about 20 minutes to prepare and heat up. I would budge about 30 minutes before your main entree is ready. We ordered the pig ear salad and beef brisket iron pot with flower rolls (花卷): Pig Ear Salad ($14) - Salad tasted pretty solid! The pig ear was crunchy and was thoroughly coated in the classic chili oil vinegar sauce. The taste was fragrant, and not too spicy - I would say people with a mild to moderate spice tolerance would really enjoy this dish. The cucumbers served as another crunch factor, but also as a refresh/palate cleanse. For the amount of salad you get, I think the price is fine. Beef Brisket Iron Pot ($65) - When the server brings this out, they will prepare the buns and stick them to the sides of the pot to also cook and heat up, and then start a 20 minute timer to heat your food up. Once the timer is done, you can dig in! The sauce/broth in the pot is delicious - I would describe it as minestrone with Chinese ingredients, it tastes like there is a tomatey base, but I think it is more attributed to peppers. It coats each each in the pot nicely so you get a flavorful bite each time. The brisket was very tender and just falls apart as you eat it, and everything is delicious with the buns. For everything you see here, it was able to comfortable feed 3 people - maybe even 4. It does lean pricier per person, but the experience is novel and you do get a decent amount of food. In comparison to the other Chinese food in the Bel red area, I'm happy Dongbei harvest opened as it gives more variety to the typical Chinese offerings in the area. I think I would revisit again if I'm ever in the mood for some Dongbei food!
