I visited Crusty Crab last night and ordered the small seafood platter with Cajun sauce. The sauce itself was absolutely delicious--flavorful and well-balanced. The potato, corn, and side of rice were also excellent. However, once we began eating the seafood, things took a sharp turn. After just a few bites--a couple of shrimp, two clams, and half a crab leg--I began to feel extremely nauseous. The flavor was overwhelming and unpleasant, almost like seawater, and I couldn't stomach any more. My dining companion and I left 97% of the seafood untouched. I requested lemon water or something to cleanse my palate, but the discomfort was immediate and intense. Our waiter was outstanding--attentive, understanding, and very professional. He brought over the manager on duty, Angel, to address the issue. I want to be clear: I wasn't looking for a refund or to avoid paying. I simply wanted the dish to be acknowledged as inedible and, ideally, accommodated appropriately since I couldn't eat it. Unfortunately, the response I received from Angel was shockingly rude and unprofessional. From the moment he approached our table, he was defensive and dismissive. When I mentioned that the seafood didn't taste fresh and that I was feeling sick, he took it personally and responded aggressively, insisting their seafood is always fresh and that they've never received complaints. I explained that I've been a loyal customer and this location is actually one of our favorites, but the food that night was not up to standard. Rather than listening, Angel continued to argue and even questioned whether I was truly feeling sick, claiming it would take 24-48 hours for symptoms to appear. I reminded him he was a restaurant manager--not a medical professional--and that making such claims was both inappropriate and dismissive. When I asked for his name, he became even more confrontational. He loudly stated, "I don't gotta write down shit for nobody," and walked away. This level of disrespect and lack of accountability was truly appalling. What upset me most was not the food, but the way I was treated. Angel showed no empathy or professionalism. After a lengthy and uncomfortable discussion, he finally offered a 25% discount, only to later apply just 10% at checkout. I have never been treated so poorly in a restaurant setting. I will be contacting corporate regarding this matter and am also considering speaking with legal counsel due to the severity of how this situation affected me physically and emotionally. read more

Don't dine here! I used a brand new card that I had not yet used and the waiter stole my credit card numbers and purchase SHEIN orders. Yesterday, I visited Crafty Crab - Houston - FM 1960 for dinner to wait out the traffic. The restaurant was nearly empty, with only about three ppl dining in. I usually avoid using my debit card, but since I had a new one that hadn't been used yet, I decided to use it for this purchase. While dining, I noticed that the waitress took an unusually long time with my card, especially considering I was seated right next to the register. I saw her coming from the back with drinks for the only other table on that side before returning my card to me. After returning home, I received two notifications indicating that my card had just been used at SHEIN. I immediately checked my transaction history to ensure everything else was correct; all other charges were either through Apple Pay or automatic payments, as I had stopped providing my debit card directly to businesses. I called the restaurant and asked to speak with a manager but was hung up on three times. When someone finally answered, they attempted to disguise their voice before asking what I needed. As I explained the situation, they hung up again. I continued calling--eight times in total--and each time, they either ignored me or picked up only to laugh and hang up again. Eventually, a "manager" answered, though he could barely speak English and kept asking me to repeat myself. Since we were staying in the Woodlands area we tried the Crafty Crab ‍ I can't remember the managers name because he was so rude! We ordered probably $160 worth of seafood, I also ordered a house salad. The seafood arrived as I started to dig into my salad. TBH, I was already disappointed that my salad was made from iceberg lettuce, but I'm hungry. After taking two bites and moving the lettuce around I notice about 2 ounces of water in the bottom of my bowl. Ok, now I don't want this simple house salad! After informing our waitress of the water at the bottom of the bowl, I politely asked her to take the salad and remove it from the ticket. We even laughed as I stated to her, "that's what I get ordering a salad at a seafood place". The manager, comes over (Hispanic Male), says to me, "Sir, what's wrong with your salad?" I simply gave him the same story and he says, "No, you're going to pay for the salad, you ate some so you're going to pay for it. All salads have water in the bowl. It's a salad" Instead of arguing with this man, I looked at my hungry wife as she was salivating over these crabs legs and I said to him. "Well, we don't want any of this food then. I've eaten thousands of salad and I know they don't have water at the bottom of them. I'll pay for the salad but I'm not buying anything else from you. Check please". I ordered $60 worth of food and was completely disappointed. The crab legs and potatoes were overcooked so potatoes were not picking up the flavor in the boil. The crab just broke apart so just ate in pieces, unfortunately. The sausage and sauce was literally the only things I can speak positive about. My experience started off fine, our server, Genesis, was polite and attentive. She did her best and deserves recognition for her service. The problem came from the kitchen and management, and it was serious. The kitchen accidentally placed my side of corn and potatoes into the wrong seafood bag at our table. Instead of correcting the mistake properly, the kitchen told our waitress to ask the other diners to take the food out of their bag by hand (no gloves) and put it on a plate for me. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was shocked to learn that Angel, the manager, was the one who approved this. I told him this was extremely unsanitary, and he brushed it off and said, "Do you want the food or not?" He even told the other guests pay for extra corn and potatoes (the kitchen's mistake) or give it back and he accepted the touched food back into the kitchen. No gloves, no food safety protocols, just completely unprofessional and unsafe. To top it off, there was no health inspection grade posted anywhere, which raised even more concerns. I've never encountered this kind of behavior from restaurant management. It wasn't just bad service, it was a serious food safety issue. I reported the incident to the Houston Health Department because situations like this put people at risk. Idk what it was about the fries, we really enjoyed those too! Sadly I didn't get the mixologist name but man the Strawberry Margaritas he made were really good & I normally don't drink on the rocks so that says a lot! This I can HONESTLY SAY, is the ABSOLUTE WORST PLACE I've EVER EXPERIENCED ! I take a sip, it's not & when I tell her it's not, SHE LITERALLY ROLLS HER EYES & goes to get the shot, comes back with a shot for me to put in the drink & walks off. We picked this place on a whim seeing as we both enjoy seafood. Upon entering there was a male and female employee arguing at the hostess stand. They didn't look up or greet us, we stood there awkwardly. The male started to walk away and then looking annoyed said to follow him. Ok how were we to know you were seating us as you didn't even acknowledge us. Place was pretty empty so we figured it would be quick service. Took forever for our waitress to come by like 20 min. Ordered two beers and an app. We had to wait for the app to be done to get our drinks apparently. I didn't even order any food as I was disgusted by the service. The food was outstanding the seasonings were on point. The mild selection that I had was more on the spicy side, even too spicy to enjoy. The drinks were trash not worth getting it. I ordered the blueberry lemon drop and I couldn't return it. There's no refunds nor returns on drinks. I came in around 7:30-8p and it was a 2hr wait (went straight to the bar and ate). We initially went to the location in Pearland to have lunch with my family, and my husband stated that there was one not too far from our house in Humble.
