This weekend I was in the area hitting up it's neighbor stores, the thrift shop, the liquor store and the Argentinean grill, and felt like I was being a real jerk singling out one of the four businesses on this strip to not patronize, so I decided to take a peak in... well, I guess that's only half of it. What really drew me in was that they had a bit of a weekend sidewalk sale going on and you know how hard it is to pass up a bargain. The items on their sidewalk sale table were classic, yet whimsical and awfully unique. We followed the steps of the manor upward and onward to find a really fine collection of surprisingly reasonable-priced items for home decor. The selection wasn't all that varied - it definitely appealed to a certain kind of taste, but not in a bad way. I was drawn to their ample selection of decorative animal items - a particularly fine selection of owl and bunny merch... but not the super girly type stuff that a guy might be embarrassed of, just a lot of nice, neutral animal gems. While mostly full of decorative items, they also carry a small selection of moderate-level jewelry and candles. It's a small shop but they have enough nooks that it actually holds quite a bit. Beyond the very affordable items inside (or at least the ones I'd flipped over seemed below what I was expecting as far as retail price), they really knew how to put on a sale. They had these really cool pineapple garden stand pillars that were originally $49 each, marked down on clearance to $4 and beyond some very minor scratches that you'd expect, they were in perfect condition. Based on savings alone I was tempted to buy. Moral: Don't judge this Manor by it's cover. While still slightly regal, it's remains humble in it's listings.

They explained they could "shave" it to restore the color but did not pressure us to do so & we opted not to. When we returned for pick-up we got the same warm welcome and some laughs as well. Not the vibe I was looking for at all. This is a giant warehouse (somewhat) filled with indoor, outdoor, housewares, tchotchkes, etc. If you need an outdoor pot, a plant stand, a side table, towels, glassware, etc., they have it all, and so many kinds it'll make your head spin. There were lots of items on clearance. At Home is filing for bankruptcy and will close stores. Perhaps that is why the store had several areas that were bare. I don't know if this is one of the locations that will close, but they shoulda had their Halloween stuff out. I will drive anywhere, spend anything, if it means cool Halloween stuff.

All of the staff are very friendly, however more work needs to be done by management or the head office to bring in more traffic. I have dedicated nearly $700 towards the purchase of displays and decor. Well, I should say I wasn't really eager to travel to a brick-and-mortar store since online shopping for home is more convenient, and often times, cheaper without having to leave the comfort of my own residence. The first impression I had was how similar it was to "HomeGoods," except it was a larger space. There were Christmas trees and decorations near the entrance, three (3) aisles of chairs I saw next, and planters, gardening essentials, poufs and ottomans against the walls. I then spotted some sofas, loveseats, and outdoor furniture toward the back of venue. I then walked through the rug and carpet department. It was quite disorganized. Items were picked over and placed on the floor instead of getting put back on the shelves. Well, this phenomenon was often seen in many retail stores post-holidays or on the weekends. I wasn't shocked, but I knew perhaps the associates and managers there could do a better job on maintaining the best visual. In addition, I noticed some items were damaged or having minor defects. Hubby and I were looking for a planning board with the days of week that we could write on daily activities or meal-prep-related messages. The one we originally wanted to purchase had a broken hook. Fortunately, we spotted another style on the other side. With that being said, conduct detailed quality check before you commit on buying anything at the store. Many tables already had scratches, dents, or uneven legs. I guess we would meet these damaged goods pretty soon at Marshall's, TJ Maxx, or HomeGoods with deeper discounts? No se, pero "we shall see!" The trip to "At Home" wasn't exactly a waste, even though I did have to admit the prices weren't exactly the lowest one could find. This is the year of 2018. E-commerce is now the sh*t.
