We drove from the city to come to this store. To our surprise is was awesome! They have about the same prices as online stores. They have some really nice paper and Brian is amazing with customer service. He told us about expos and how they work. Definitely will come here again and again. A nice selection at this store. They carry many different lines of paper and extras. They have Basic Grey, October Afternoon, Sassafras, Graphic45, Ranger/Tim Holtz, and many more! The nice part is they seem to carry an entire line of product included stickers, rub-ons, and other embellishments. They sell by packs or individual sheets. Let me begin this review with the positive and then I will truly move into my real experience. On a positive note, yes Craft Fancy does have very nice scrapbooking, cardmaking, and papercraft supplies that you most likely won't find in your larger chains like Michaels, Joanns, or Hobby Lobby. Now, that being said. . . My experience with their customer service was simply awful. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon recently simply to look around as I haven't ever been to this shop before. I was greeted by someone when I walked in and that person asked me if she could help me. I nicely (and excitedly mind you given that I am a rather dedicated cardmaker) replied, "No thank you, I'm just looking. I have never been here before." The employee literally rolled her eyes and walked away. I immediately somehow felt like I shouldn't be in the store and although I stayed to look around I felt uncomfortable the entire time I was in the store. I did notice that this employee was perfectly nice, kind, and helpful to those folks that were apparently "regulars" in the store . . . she helped them, spoke with them, and was friendly to them when they were checking out at the register. Hmmmm, I got to the register and was met with attitude and absolutely no customer service at all. I was actually quite upset when I left the store as I went there for a fun, self-care morning before heading to work and instead got attitude, aloofness, and just plain unacceptable customer service. I am not sure how they expect to have more "regulars" when they treat new customers like this. Needless to say, it is my choice never to walk in this store again. And for the record, I found many of the products they had in their store at online scrapbooking places for significantly less money that what she was charging. If you don't want to feel like somehow you shouldn't be shopping there, do yourself a favor and just stay out. read more

There aren't many places around that sell the products Craft Fancy sells, so I want to like this store, but every time I go there, I come away saying that I wish I'd just bought the item(s) on line. The customer service leaves something to be desired. The woman I think is the owner is not outgoing or welcoming. That's not the spirit you'd expect in a papercrafting store -- people usually like to chat about the hobby, but this woman barely cracks a smile or gives me much of a greeting. I drive nearly an hour to come to this store and even though they know this when I check out (b/c my address is in their system) they never acknowledge this or thank me for my business. In terms of the products they sell, I have two gripes: one is that their selection is very unreliable. They are often out of in-demand products and they carry an odd selection of certain lines (eg, random old Hero Arts sets, but not the current products people probably want most). The discount bins have contained the same products for 18+ months. My biggest gripe is price, and I know this is a dilemma for small independently owned stores like this. Everything appears to be marked up 10-20% over the price shown at major sellers online (eg, Simon Says Stamp, Ellen Hutson). Truth is, I probably would gladly pay more at Craft Fancy if I felt I was being treated better. But in the 4-5 times I've gone there, it's always been the same. So I've determined that I'll just wait the 2 days it takes to order and receive things from online sellers. read more

I love this store. Everyone that works there is so kind I can't say enough about how they have treated me. They all know me by name when I walk in and are eager to assist me with my projects. What a creative bunch of ladies that create the samples there and help the customers. I have never had more fun taking classes and getting to know other crafters than I have at this LSS. Yes, Craft Fancy carries really nice paper and other supplies for scrapbooking and card making. You will find things there that are not available at the big box stores. The samples of finished cards displayed around the store are very cute. But, if you are looking for a place with good customer service, you won't find it here. At first, you will be lulled into a false sense of caring. Stay away from the Garage Sale. It seems like a great way to get rid of things that you don't want anymore and purchase other things at great prices. But there is no supervision of the people as they set up their items and no one knows if you are taking something that does not belong to you. You pay a nominal fee to participate in the garage sale and after it is over your "payment" is in the form of a gift card to be used in the store to purchase more supplies or towards the classes. A substantial number of my items had not been sold, but also did not get returned to me. They were "missing" which either means stolen or the employees did not ring the items properly. Well, "that is the chance you take." Trying to use some of the credit I did receive, I signed up for a class over the phone and said that I wanted to use my "credit " to pay for the class. When I showed up for the class, I quickly told the person at the register that I was there for the class and headed for the classroom. Only then, did it become apparent that the person I had talked to on the phone did not inform the instructor that I had registered.She turned me away and said that she did not have supplies for me to participate. I had driven 30 min. to get to the class and had left a message on their answering machine about my intentions. To make matters worse, the only other person signed up for the class never showed!! Does not seem like a good way to treat a customer. Now I have learned that "rewards" that I had on account from last year expired and will not be refunded. Well, needless to say, Craft Fancy has seen the last of me. This is the third and final time I will be treated so poorly as a customer and I urge all of you Craft Fancy fans to pay attention to you credits, rewards, and don't assume anything. read more

What a great store for both scrappers and stampers alike. Well organized by topic and cross organized by paper company. Carol was super helpful and had instant knowledge of where items were located. Once I told her about my project, she made some suggestions and i saved money. The gals in the class that was going on were having a great time! Check out the calendar of events as it offers a variety....card making, stamping and scrapbook options. Lots of easy to finish samples on display, too! read more

Great classes by nationally known instructors. Considering the number of craft stores which have gone out of business, it is great to support a small business. The store is very well organized. The store provided snacks and coffee, and took orders for food so that people could work on their projects in between classes. read more

really cute store. some items can be pricey, but their paper patterns are a lot cuter and unique than patterns you would find at michael's or joann fabrics. they also have lots of cute stamps. my favorite thing to get is their kit bits :] they have packs of paper left over from their craft classes, and they sell them for $3, but they have tons of goodies in them and are totally worth the price. read more

You can find new products here but rarely the full line of a new scrapbooking release. The store has a lot of ""older" product lines that must not sell because some of the products have been there FOREVER. Service is average at best. read more

About 10 years ago, my favorite scrapbooking stores (NOT Archiver's!) have gone out of business and any scrapbooking or card making supplies I have purchased either online or in the big box stores - which seem to have condensed their products. I had heard of Craft Fancy, but always forgot to stop in for a look. I live about 30 minutes away. I finally made it there last week and LOVE it!!! Karen was very helpful and I couldn't believe they carry some lines I thought could only be ordered online (Gina K and Brutus Monroe). I was able to find what I needed without being rushed and had all my questions answered. I plan to go again in the future and am glad to hear of an independent store is still around and going strong! Only negative - they have lots of card examples with stamps and accessories they no longer carry. Too bad (or maybe good!) as I would have purchased several more stamp sets I REALLY wanted (Peeps for Easter and a shave ice stamp). read more

I happened to come across to this craft store in Arlington Heights, IL while visitng the area in March. I was very suprised on the amount of papers, scrapbooking products they carried. They have a large selection of dies, embossing folders, tim holtz products, stamps, etc... I was in heaven... The gal that was working was very helpful and they have a great selection of products to choose from. I spent literally 2 hours there and bought a tons of my favorite items. I also signed up for their newsletter and she explained how the reward program works and there's no punch card... Hooray!!! Love, love, love the store. I already earned a reward and have already used it. I happened to be in during the week of the garage sale and I was able to find some great items at a super deal price!!!
