What a cute family activity! We came in on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy, but boy did it get busy fast. We were making a birthday plate and mug for our little one. They had tons of ceramics to too from and the prices were fair too. Both pieces that we selected were about $25-30 and that included the firing and all of the supplies to paint. They had tons of options for colors as well as tons of supplies. We finished our painting and were told to come pick it up in a week. Can't wait to see how it all turns out. read more

What fun we had! I took the kids to Ceramics For You to get them out of the house and to do something different. I'm glad we stopped in. We were greeted right away and given the information on how the process worked. Then we were off to find the right piece for each of us. I picked out a piggy bank, my grandson painted a game controller and my granddaughter chose a sugar skull. My bank looks more like a donut to me. My grandson got frustrated many times but kept going. My granddaughter turned a blank skull into a work of art. I can't wait to see the final products next week. read more

First, let me start off by saying that my daughter and I visited this place about a year to a year and a half ago on a Saturday and had an excellent time. We visited during the open paint hours, picked something to paint and had plenty of space to select our pieces, paint colors, and to work. Now, let me provide a follow-up. We attempted to visit again this past weekend (on another Saturday) and the place was absolutely packed. An employee graciously welcomed us and found a table for us to sit at. We were going to make it work, however when my kids began to look around for items to paint, the sticker shock of the price tags quickly changed the mood. We couldn't find anything to paint for under $20 a piece. The little figurines were priced at about $22 a piece. Some of the bigger items they liked were $45. I had planned to let 4 kids paint but we ended up leaving without painting the prices were so steep. I am disappointed as our first visit about a year ago was not this expensive. read more

I'm HOOKED, YO!! Ceramics is thought-crushing-serenity. In other words - PEACEFUL. I can't tell you what a fabulous de-stresser this is! I always thought that this ceramic painting debacle was cheesy and for little kids. I was SO wrong. I was happily surprised to see the variety of different ceramics to choose from! It's not just cheesy little kids figurines! They've got all kinds of things including cheesy kid figurines, Plates, Dishes, Serving bowls and serving plates, tea cups, coffee mugs, tea pots, large piggy banks, and then a whole variety of seasonal Holiday items - i.e., there was a bunch of Easter decorations since Easter is coming up. I actually had a hard time choosing what to paint because I saw several different things I wanted to do! I finally chose my ceramic, a lovely serving dish (approximately 4 inches by 16 inches) and sat down to paint! There's a whole bunch of different colored paints, and even different TYPES of paints. Then there's a bunch of different "accessories" to help you paint. There's also some painting "idea books" if you are having a tough time being creative on your own. The employees are also a helpful resource in terms of "tips". The store has 2 long tables for general public. Then there's a large party area, and a small party area. The store was nice and bright, fun, colorful, and clean. There's brushes, paint holders and munchies on the table for everyone. The ONLY reason I didn't give 5-stars is due to the price. I had no idea how expensive this stuff was! My son did two things: one was a little horse figure, about 2 inches by 3 inches and a coffee-mug, and I did the serving plate - and our total bill was $75. Yikes! I have no idea if this is pretty standard pricing or what since this was my first time. BUT, it will give us a couple hours of entertainment, so I was ok to pay. It could be a deterrent for some folks though. HOWEVER, with that being said, I understand that if you join their mailing list that they occasionally send like coupons or promotions. Overall, I highly recommend this place. We had so much fun, and I can't wait to go back and finish my piece! My painting was kinda intricate, and after 2-hours my piece isn't done so I have to go back (which is kinda cool, cuz i'm actually excited. It gives me something to look forward to!). I'm kinda hooked. I have a feeling this is going to become an expensive hobby, because I can't believe what an awesome feeling it is to sit there and just paint! You focus only on the paint - and your mind just goes blank. Amazing. Even my 16 year-old son had fun and wants to go back! Just an FYI that it does take about a week to get your pieces back. Once you finish, they have to like set for a day or so, and then they're put in the kiln, and then they set again. So sounds like it takes almost a week. read more

I've been to many ceramic studios all over the country. This is one is well stocked. Staff is super friendly. Prices are solid. In California, most places have a sitting fee + price of the piece. I think it's 6 of one, half dozen of the other. You can have parties here. The staff also helps with lettering. Painting ceramics is cheaper/more fun than therapy. read more

Just discovered this place 2 weeks ago. Took my teenage nieces and nephew and we had a great time painting ceramics. The following week I met a friend there and again had a great time. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Great place to bring children, they even have a story time. They also offer canvas painting and glass fusion. Word to the wise...call before showing up. Went there on a Saturday afternoon and it was jammed packed with a party. Completely my own fault, I learned my lesson. I still love going to this place. They have an excellent selection of pieces to paint for kids and adults. Staff is very helpful. Even if you've been there before, they are always helping you improve you project or giving ideas. I'm a Momma who struggles with severe anxiety and it's hard to go to new places. This place brought me complete peace for two full hours. I brought my son and nervous thought he was going to DESTROY everything , nope, here came Melissa to save the day !! She is just AMAZING! She interacted with my son who does not care for strangers and even started smiling and chatting with her . She sat with us constantly, made my son so comfortable she was even able to do two wonderful handprints with him on our mugs. She made things so easy as I was fighting an anxiety attack lol. My son absolutely loved getting messy and creating all morning . Very helpful!! Just pay the price of the product of ceramics.. Everything else include the price. If you enjoy painting , this is the place to go. They also order a customized clay if you want . After the painting they will fire it. It will take about a week. All the staff there was very helpful and took their time to help us. We stayed about three hours. It is fun if you enjoyed art and doing the painting. Kids will enjoy it. What is nice about is that .....there are no hidden fees after you buy the products of ceramics. If the ceramic cost 19.95 then you ll pay 19.95 plus taxes. No other fee like paints , studio fee or sitting fee like other places I have gone . So have fun and enjoy at this place. read more

This is the second location of a privately owned do-it-yourself ceramics store. Set up in the strip development near the soon-to-be changed Dominick's on Grand, this place is set up with shelves of unfinished ceramic projects along both walls and tables with placemats for painting your piece in house. It works like this: find something you want to paint, purchase it (all prices include the materials and firing along with the piece), paint it and give them about a week to have it finished for you. There are a variety of options from seasonal cups, mugs, plates, statuettes, covered dishes and more. Most pieces start at about $18 and go up from there based on size. If you want a fancy mottled glaze, they have many options to choose from and these are an addtional $6.50 for the jar. Otherwise, all of the paints, brushes, stencils, glazes are available in the place. It seems like a great place for a kids party or a one-of-a-kind gift for someone special. Went here for a team building/holiday party. They have a little room in back which was perfect for us and we were able to bring wine with us!! Loved coming here!! I came with my 9 year old daughter, 7 year old nephew and my 2.5 year old youngest daughter. I specifically liked the fact that they encouraged me to allow my daughter to just be work on her art and "make her own creative mess". They are not concerned of paint on the tables since it will easily clean off when dry. My baby girl had non-toxic paint all over her clothes, face and table and it was such a beautiful gift for her creativity. The price you pay (all-inclusive) pays for your ceramic and any painting you wish to do on the selected ceramic of choice. They have a wall of approximately 100 (likely a bit less) colors, finishes. Some colors are even speckled with a bit of a "confetti" effect. I even had one of my ceramics with my daughter's handprints on it, and the staff on the store will aide you to ensure you have the best quality handprints on your ceramic. If you so choose to, they even have pens that you can use to write on your ceramic. The price also includes the "baking" of your ceramic that will add a nice glazed finish to your piece. Taxes are separate, and your ceramic piece will be available exactly a week after you work on your ceramic. There will be no call made to your home to let you know its ready; you simply come pick up your piece within 7 days.
