I am extremely disappointed with my experience as a vendor at The Painted Tree. Despite joining over a month ago at the peak of Chrismas shopping, I have had zero sales, which is incredibly frustrating. The lack of foot traffic is alarming; it seems like hardly anyone is visiting the shop. The store's marketing is inadequate; I've never seen any promotions on social media to attract customers.When I requested a two-foot longer booth at the end-cap, I expected some accommodation or discount, but none was offered. I regret becoming a vendor here and feel that my investment has not been worthwhile, especially being tied to a 12-month contract. All of the staff are very friendly, however more work needs to be done by management or the head office to bring in more traffic. I have dedicated nearly $700 towards the purchase of displays and decor. I have items ranging from $2.99 upwards to $129.99, all of which are handmade.I can't recommend The Painted Tree to other vendors unless they improve their marketing strategies and attract more customers. read more

Such a hidden gem! I say hidden cause it's a bit tucked back in a strip mall. So I'm so glad someone told me about this place. This store has hundreds of vendors under one roof. These vendor's sell everything from crafty items to furniture, antiques, clothes, collectibles & more. There are just so many vendors & unique/cool items to look at. Every time I have been here I have never walked out empty handed. I would say to put out at least an hour and 1/2 to 2 hours to come and browse. Store seams to be very clean and well kept. Everyone there is very helpful and nice. As for pricing it's just your own knowledge. Some items I see are over priced but a lot of times vendors have great sales. I also highly recommend coming to their events like ladies night, Galentine's & more. They really put an extra great shopping experience those days with treats, sales, refreshments, live music and more. read more

I was a vendor at Painted Tree for a year. I wish I had read the reviews from vendors who posted on this site. Everything they said was true 100 percent, and if I had known, I would have saved myself a lot of trouble. During the year there, I did make some sales but not enough to cover the rent and expenses. Although the staff was friendly and helpful, the manager was not. She would not address the theft that was so blatant. It appears the Painted Tree's minimal security attracts a group of shoppers who go there for free gift shopping. Some of them are so bold they openly discard sales tags on the floor, that was how I found out which of my items were stolen. There is no need to elaborate further. In short, the Painted Tree is a good place to shop, but not a place to sell. read more

This was my second time here , this time in search of some unique holiday gifts. Unfortunately, I did not find anything. There are several booths, but many items are pre-manufactured . The bright spot is one of my daughter's favorite jewelers, Kono & Co has a booth shared with Love That! another jeweler, we have purchased from. I gave this place another shot and upgraded by 1 star as its now filled up a bit more. The issue that remains is that many of the booths were repeats of the same items. Plenty of "made in China" junk and then there's all types of handbags and little trinkets. Not a ton of truly handmade items and some stuff that's just being resold (records, cooking utensils, soap, etc.). There's also remnants of booths that didn't survive (half painted walls, random tables and fixtures sitting around). There weren't many things that I'd consider a deal, nor was there anything I wanted to buy. There were a handful of shoppers walking around with a few things in their hands, but overall, very quiet for a Friday late afternoon. If you're looking for the "artisan" experience, you might find some stuff, but you'll mostly see items made elsewhere for sale here. Not a bad thing, just something to expect when you visit. read more

As someone who has been a vendor, I will tell anyone who wants to be associated with Painted Tree... run far, run fast. They claim they advertise on TV which is absolutely false. They claim they have security cameras in entire store which is completely false. The corporate does not support vendors in any way. So many of their managers have no basic sense of decency to even talk. One complaint from vendors across all Painted Tree locations in US is that there is not enough footfall and hardly any sales. They were supposed to be a store for handmade products but started allowing local business owners delving in retail. This makes competitive pricing hard on artisans. Their booth rent prices are ludicrous and instead of giving support to vendors, they have ridiculous contracts to keep vendors trapped. What you will make in one day in craft fair, you will make barely in 4 months in Painted Tree. Save yourself terrible losses and loss of peace of mind and either stick to craft fairs or find other place to sell your wares. read more

I stopped by for my first time yesterday and I loved it! One review I saw a couple times was that this place is way over priced and I have to strongly disagree with that statement. I didn't see a single price tag that seemed unreasonable. I went home with a couple of cute decor signs and this beautiful basket wagon that I decided to use in my living room to hold throw blankets! I really loved this place. It's my kind of shopping for sure: more art fair than mall. The individual shops are fun & unique and it's the perfect place to find the perfect gift. It truly is an indoor art fair. I saw in another review that booth owners aren't local but I happened to run into two of them who were having their opening debut days so I know that's not true. The place is big & bright and really just puts you in a good mood. I took some pics (really this is the perfect Instagram setting on so many levels) and while it wasn't super crowded due to Covid, I did have to wait for people to leave the aisles most times. Overall, a 5-star experience, I picked up a cute bag & a gift for my mom. read more

Update. 4/30/21-Someone from the store reached out to me, addressed my concerns and handled the situation professionally and with great customer care. Upped my stars again. have been raving to friends and family about this place since I discovered it. Very cute, unique items you'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere. I've probably spent close to $500 there in the past two months on kitchy, fun items for gifts to give my nearest and dearest. Tonight I spent 3hrs in the store. Curating a few gifts for some upcoming birthdays. I'm a shopper that likes to put things back where I found them and make things easier on the staff. This store is huge with lots of booths. So tonight I go to check out at the counter and the two clerks look at me dumbfounded. It was 8:05 and they close at 8:00 and had already closed out both registers. We all just looked at each other a few minutes until one said, "Sorry we closed at 8:00. We didn't know anyone was still in the store". She then directed me to leave my items and they'd put them back. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I'm a good customer and I spent three hours picking these items out. I got lost in my shopping and didn't have a watch on. There was no announcement via speaker they were closing nor did anyone check the aisles to make sure no one was still in the store. At the very least they could have offered to hold my items until the next day. I get they cashed out and there wasn't anything they could do at that point but they get a C- for not attempting to salvage the situation, especially since they've seen me in there at least 1x a week regularly. I'll give them another chance because I really think it's a cute shop and overall the staff is friendly. For safety concerns (themselves and the public) I do hope they do a walk through in the future. I mean there were two of them at the front. One could walk through while the other man's the door. Painted Tree in KIldeer has a diverse selection of products. Fun items, seasonal items and one of a kind pieces. The store has many different vendors, and exploring all the nooks and crannies is time well spent. They have product for every occasion, and most are handmade. They even have fair trade items from over 30 developing countries in one of the booths! I would also like to mention that my experience with their current management, as a vendor and a consumer has been great. They respect and are courteous to all. Opening a new venue is always has a learning curve, but we all adapt. I would recommend Painted Tree, it's unique for our area and a pleasure to shop at. read more

I stopped by Painted Tree today to check it out as a potential vendor and out of curiosity and I loved it! Some booths were local creators, others had antiques, some had speciality jams, honey, and fancy pantry goods that make great gifts. It felt unique and so fun and I definitely picked up a few items! I'm definitely interested in contacting them for a space for my own items after seeing everything today. I see some older reviews weren't happy but perhaps things have changed since then and more sellers are now there participating? Regardless I definitely recommend giving them a look around as I found the cutest things today and feel so happy about it! read more

This Painted Tree location offers a huge variety of independent small business owners and shops. So many talented, creative people working hard to make a go of things during hard financial times. It's worth supporting this store for this reason alone. Yes, there are some products that are made in China, but there also a ton of handmade, locally sourced, made in the USA products as well. It is important to note that many of the shops are doing great things as well within the community, like donating a portion of their profits to charity. It's worth getting to know these small businesses and supporting their entrepreneurial efforts. read more
