She brought me three other dresses that she thought I would like. I'm glad she did because I normally won't spend $100 and up on a dress for myself. I really liked one of her suggestions so I purchased it. I was happy there was a 20 percent off sale. The dress ended up being $140 but I think I'll get enough wears from it making it worth it. They were so helpful with their recommendations and letting me know their thoughts on which dress was the best for me to buy. I didn't feel pushed into buying either. This shop didn't really seem to have much that was gender neutral, at least not for newborns. Even if I knew the sex of my baby I don't believe that there are specific colors for gender so I am not interested in having a closet full of just blue or pink things or otherwise gendered things. A couple of the staff greeted me but that was it. I wandered around and didn't really find much that piqued my interest. Parking is all on the street, and this is maybe just on the outskirts of the more active downtown area of Highland Park, so I imagine it can be difficult to park here (I think I had to circle the block once to find a spot that opened up). It's only a few blocks from Highland Park's Metra stop so that could be convenient if you need to make your way here.

Not one, but piles of lazy susans, punch bowls, and serving platters that make us dinners and church fellowship hour hosting champs. None of the items were cookie cutter items that are found in chain stores, and great prices. We waltzed in recently, looking for kitchenware, to find a few isles of very limited stuff. What happened? We're also suckers for seasonal deco, and they usually are stacked to the neck with unique pieces. I have noticed that the stock is lower and the prices are higher. That is kind of a bummer. I still didn't leave empty handed but I didn't bring home a cart full like I used to. Hope Old Time Pottery is going through a phase and will bounce back.
