We received a large gift assortment of the Chicago foods we grew up with. They arrived fairly well…read morepackaged in dry ice. Though the box was "curated" by Lou Malnati Pizza, the pizzas were the least favorite of the collection. They also make a deep dish style but we received 4 thin crust. The cooking instructions were to take them out of the tins and cook on oven rack, but the crust edges on two of them were broken so we could not remove them. They were all actually so thin and fragile that we cooked the other 2 on a cookie sheet. So they did not come out as crisp as we would have liked and the ones in the foil tins stuck to the pan. We had cheese, sausage and pepperoni. Sausage was ok, the other two blah and mediocre. No herbs on any of them. The Chicago dog kit was great, with Vienna red hots and poppy seed buns with all the condiments. Easy to heat and tasty. The half rack of ribs with sauce was good too. The highlight was Eli's cheesecake. Perfect, thoughtful packaging, easy to serve and just delicious. I made a strawberry sauce to serve with it. All in all a lovely gift but I would send the deep dish over thin crust pizzas. I think they would hold up better and be easier to heat.

I ordered 2 Lou Malnati's Thin Crust Pizzas & 5 Deep Dish Pizzas. The pizza from Lou Malnati's was…read moresubpar, deep dish was very thin. The sauce tasted as if they just poured tomato sauce from a can on it, no flavor. The thin crust tasted worse than grocery frozen pizza. By the time it was delivered the sides of the pizza were soggy, if not broken.

This review is months overdue but because we enjoyed our visit to this shop, I want to make sure…read moreothers know about it too. It was a sunny Sunday in Spring and we were walking around downtown Libertyville. The interesting, eclectic window display caught our eye and we went in. What?!?! (We are not folks who enjoy wandering in and out of little knick knack/tchotchke shops; We are more window shoppers who keep moving along at a good clip outside the shops.) There was an interesting selection of gifts, cards, home decor, wine related quote wall plaques and wedding/special occasion invitation sample books. We had been looking for a "corksickle" device to put in bottles of white wine to help keep the wine chilled. Low and behold they had the exact brand (Host) that we were looking for and at a bargain price. We bought that and some funny birthday cards. Our purchase was wrapped up in tissue paper and put in a fancy little gift bag as though it was fine crystal. The owner assisted us and was charming but not intrusive. As it turned out, she let us browse around even though they were technically closed. The owner and manager came in just to help a bride pick out her invitations during off hours because that was more convenient for the bride. I hope this shop succeeds! Stop by and take a peek inside. You may find your equivalent to our "corksickle"!

Loved this shop! Lots of great trinkets and gifts. Kristine was so nice and accommodating. I needed…read morea Christmas ornament and she offered to write a sweet message for a wedding couple I was gifting it to, since she hand-paints items herself.
