Angelina is such a cute shop! Came here for the first time yesterday and wasn't disappointed. They sell tons of paper, alcoholic gummy bears, pens, Corkle mugs and tumblers, greeting cards, and jewelry. The place is bright and clean inside, and the worker was very nice. She was explaining to us that she accidentally unplugged the internet because her printer wasn't working and she attempted to unplug that. She was super personable, and we were patient because she was talkative and honest. She was going to emboss my sister's card, but eventually the system came up and we were all good. I bought Bitchstix lipbalm because it is a brand that supports victims of domestic and sexual abuse. They have tons of flavors, but I bought the Eucalyptus mint one. Prices here are a little expensive, but most boutiques are because the gifts are either handmade, unique, and created by local businesses. read more

Super turned off from this store after being told by the girl who worked there named Amanda that I could not get a piece of tissue paper and bag for my purchase that was a gift for my sister. The reason she gave me was that I bought it from the sales table and that she would be in trouble. Absolutely ridiculous and then when I asked her who her manager was, she said she could not give me her name. It should not matter whether my purchase was from a sales table or not in order to give me one piece of tissue and a bag and that it only applied to regular priced items. I will not be returning to this kind of place with shady customer service and I will tell all my local friends my experience here. I've never been to a business where they differentiate items bought and what constitutes if they can give you a bag. Rude!!! read more

Skip your local grocery store and/or Hallmark the next time you're in the market for cards. Stop by Angelina instead. Angelina reminds me of some of the boutiques that I've visited while in the city. They carry a wide array of cards that aren't run-of-the-mill. Some of them are incredibly witty, sarcastic and pack a whole lot of cheek. Some are also designed by local artists. So, keep that in mind as you're browsing so you aren't too shocked at how much they cost. You can easily spend upwards of $4 to $5 for a card. Angelina also carries jewelry, candles, scarves, phone cases, journals among other unique accessories. Finding a gift here is rather easy due to the wide range of products. Also, the shop is well organized and the merchandise is beautifully displayed. The candles smelled so lovely, and I really had to resist the urge to buy every single one of them. The woman working at the shop when I visited greeted me immediately and asked if I needed help finding everything. She was very friendly, which was a huge plus, given that it was relatively early Sunday morning when I visited. I didn't need her help, but she was more than willing to assist had I needed help. Angelina is definitely worth a peek if you are in the area. I know I'll definitely be back to buy some more cards. read more

This boutique is full of cute, pricey, boutique stuff. I skimmed the selection of greeting cards, candles, perfumes, jewelry, and more, but most of the items that interested me were too expensive to justify. I'm in love with the Library of Flowers collection but haven't bit the bullet and made a purchase yet. Prices are on par with other boutiques though, and there is a small clearance section. The candles and paper goods were reasonably priced. My friend purchased a few "seven year pens" as gifts. The girl working here was friendly. Angela is worth a stop if you're nearby or need a last minute gift. read more

I saw these large intricately-cut earrings and was afraid to peek at the price but I just had to. For only $14-16, it beats buying the cheap, mass-produced ones at the mall. This is the kind of store I need to be careful about! I resisted the urge to buy everything in the store! I'm a sucker for cute, quirky, unique, and sassy cards, of which this store is rich in. They also have tons of Rifle Paper Co. Stuff, which is great to know since I'm somewhat obsessed with Anna Bond's work. I spent a ridiculous amount of time looking around because I didn't want to miss anything! Cute little store in downtown Barrington! I basically got the same vibe as a Hallmark in terms of the type of merchandise they carry (cards, fun little accessories and knick knacks, etc), but a little more chic. Staff was nice and friendly. My fiance bought a cute imprinted teaspoon and I got a mug, nothing too crazy but definitely stuff our moms would like. Nothing particularly for me, but if I'm ever in the Barrington area and looking for gifts again, I'd stop in. read more

I work in the area and I thought I would stop in during my lunch hour. I'll never do that again. The person behind the counter, I learned later was the owner, did not even look up from behind the counter the whole time I was there. With so many small independent stores closing, I would think she would at least say hi. The stuff in there was kinda cute, but it didn't make up for the way I was treated. read more

I love Angelina! Definitely the place to go if you need a gift for a female - pretty much any age range teens and up. There are lots of unique cards, and really beautiful jewelry. Not the gaudy kind just sort of understated, classic and hip. My favorite items in the shop though are probably the boutique perfumes, lotions and soaps. I am hooked.
