Visited this store this morning, as we entered my husband said Good Morning to the 2 employees standing at the register. Neither one of them responded. We were there to purchase some Nora Fleming pieces so went directly to that section. As we stood there deciding on what pieces we wanted the 2 employees continued having their own conversation at the register. Not once did they come over to ask if we needed anything. We finally decided that we would just leave and purchase our items at another local store that also carries Nora Fleming. This used to be our go to store anytime we were in need of a gift. Within reach is such an amazing store! The employees and owner are so welcoming when I walk in! If I'm ever in need a little piece of home decor or a gift for a friend this is the place to go! Home decor and gift shop, with some Midwestern finds. I liked the holiday plates bearing the phrases "Another one bites the crust" and "Can-berry Sauce" (dish shaped like half a can of jellied cranberry sauce). Heavy on fall decor right now and of course the gnomes that have become a holiday trend for the last few years. Worth a look if you're in Long Grove. read more

I experienced poor customer service as well as being followed around the store like a hawk. Employees had plenty of time to watch over you, but could not verbalize any form of acknowledgement or provide a welcoming experience. Did not purchase anything due to poor experience. read more

I go to each of Long Grove's fests (Apple, Chocolate, and Strawberry) each year and always find a new store to peruse. I happened upon this store during Long Grove's Apple Fest and instantly fell in love. There are different sections in the store: holiday, baby, etc. gifts, and an upstairs sale section that is 40% off! If you ever spent time in a Francesca's store, this is very similar except Within Reach focuses more on home décor accent pieces rather than clothes. A few scarves and a couple dresses are in this store, but this is not a clothing store. After spending some time reading the humorous coasters, I looked at all the home décor accents. My friends and I couldn't count how many times we said "Oooh look at this!" There are a lot of fun things. - Bird lovers rejoice as there are several bird related accents (cages, birdbath jewelry holder which I LOVE, etc.) - Anyone attending a baby shower soon? Unique baby items are here! - Fall décor that I have not seen anywhere else. - Christmas!!! I love this holiday and they designated a section of their store to some really unique accent pieces. See the image I added for a 'Frosty the Snowman top hat Christmas tree topper' (whew that is a mouthful). I plan on adding this to my Christmas collection. - Various wall pieces. - 40% off sale section on the second floor. Most prices are fair, but if you're looking for a bargain check out the sales section. Nothing in the store seems unreasonably high in price. I really enjoyed spending time in this store and the sales lady was very nice. I asked and she says they have been in business for thirty some years so that tells you they're doing something right. I discovered Within Reach on a spur of the moment side trip to Long Grove. This is such a unique and quaint store. I bought several items during my visit then reached out for couple of other items by Facebook/phone. What delightful people; very helpful and accommodating. I love this store! It IS Long Grove. They have everything! Gifts, cards, children's items, unique pieces for the home, jewelry... Within Reach is one of those stores that you can lose yourself in. I love to wander through thinking of gifts for everyone I know. I have purchased special gifts there for years. I love buying something that I won't see at every other store in the area. I have been shopping at Within Reach for well over 25 years! It is one of my favorite stores in Long Grove. The owner is incredibly helpful and enjoys what she does and it shows. The staff is helpful and I can always go there when I need a gift. They also wrap the gifts beautifully and it is free. She carries Nora Fleming customizable serving pieces for every occasion which is also a great gift. This store carries home decor, scarves, purses, holiday items and has an adorable baby section for that perfect gift. Personalized baby gifts are also offered and are so precious. I visit often.
