I love the concept of resale shops- it makes sense ecologically and economically. Plus, proceeds are donated to charity here so win-win-win. I have had terrific luck at Lucille's and I am very particular. Lots of designer pieces, and brand new items. Plus unique things that aren't found in stores. If you have a hour and patience to search closely, chances are you will discover something great for yourself or a friend. read more

Nice selection of China, crystal and glassware (many complete sets at very reasonable prices). The clothing is a step up from most thrift shops. Well curated store. read more

I'm so glad I found this place. It's a gem of a thrift store. The prices are a bit higher but the clothes are of higher quality. I bought a coat heavy fall for $25 and it is slightly old fashioned but beautiful. I have gotten three compliments about it from strangers. I also got a very pretty sweater there. Great service, too. read more

A great place to thrift especially for furniture, jewelry and fancy clothing. Store smells fresh. Sponsors a great cause. I had volunteered at Holy Family School for quite a few years when I was healthier. You can thrift all day in the area, Wings to the south, Goodwill, Lucille, Salvation Army store, ReStore. Have fun finding treasures! read more

I mostly come to this location to see furniture options. They always have very unique finds in good shape. Overall, this is a very clean store and I look forward to walking through all the aisles. Would highly recommend. read more

Love this place! I often find several clothing items each time I'm there and I love looking through the furniture and trinkets. Plus, all for s good cause. I live in Chicago and drive 40 mins to be able to shop here. Even my mom from Michigan likes to make the trip here to check things out! read more

STELLAR BEYOND AMAZING!!!! We have bought several unique pieces of furniture from Lucilles since we moved to Chicagoland 2 years ago... What a gem - kids come with is and find some of their own treasures - like dvds, fun purses, jewelry, and trinkets.. Prices are very fair and the get some quality items in... Hate to put more people on the hunt (selfishly!) but happy to support an amazing team! read more

I love Lucille's! The store itself is well organized and has a large selection of housewares, furniture, and clothing. Recently we were on the lookout for a mid-century dresser and looked everywhere. The prices for mid-century furniture in ok condition are upwards of $500. I came to Lucilles and found the most amazing dresser for only $100. The staff was very helpful when purchasing the dresser and they were accommodating with my pick up schedule. The dresser had minimal damage from being moved through the decades and the price was right; plus, it was made from real wood and not particle board. Win! I did not purchase this but I did find a beautiful 12 person setting of German bone china that included plates, soup bowls, gravy bowl everything... and only for only $150. So many vintage, well cared for pieces for less than the price of a single setting today. Plus, these items have a history and if you're lucky you'll also find vintage items brought over from Europe and Japan. Highly recommend. Plus, the money made from the resale of the items goes to scholarships for students on the West side of Chicago. I mean, come on, shop well and do some good. read more

Lucille - $8 brand new purse & $2 intriguing book. - Thrift Stores Near Me - Arlington Heights, Illinois

Lucille what happened? You had the most stunning jewelry Dept. of all the thrift stores in the area. The volunteer was knowledgeable, friendly and always happy to assist me. The jewelry was above thrift store quality, clean and you could wear the bracelet, necklace or any jewelry right out of store. This was my go to for my personal style jewelry and jewelry gift giving to friends and family. You lost me and my money. So disappointed, you claim to be upscale, nope. read more

This spankin' new store promises an innovative approach to resale--they say they're "reinventing resale." A unique mix of great quality clothing--women's, kid's and men's--complements unique furniture and lots of interesting accessories and housewares. The store's spacious, organized, and conveniently situated between Salvation Army and Goodwill stores. Prices are very competitive--Lucille is a nonprofit that supports Holy Family School on Chicago's West Side www.hfm.org. read more

Lucille - $25 a steal for this Martha Stewart cookware piece! - Thrift Stores Near Me - Arlington Heights, Illinois

I finally stopped here today. Yay! Location is conveniently located on Rand Rd. near the Goodwill and Salvation Army. Parking lot is spacious and well maintained. Pros: The store is very clean and inviting. You can clearly see that time and effort went into making the store visually appealing. Cute displays, tables set, clothing racks are maneuverable. Not much to choose from as far as clothing for a 30-something yr. old woman, but prices seemed appropriate for then items that were on the racks. Lucille's isn't busting at the seams with merchandise, so the store was very easy to shop. This is definitely a place to check out if you're looking for furniture pieces. They had many nice China cabinets & hutches. Cons: Two men were volunteering/working the day I stopped in. No one said 'hello' when I entered the store or asked me if I needed help with anything. There were only 3 customers in the entire store and none of us were asked if we needed any assistance. No 'thanks for stopping in' on my way out either. I probably would have lingered a little longer, but I guess there was something about the nonexistent customer service that made me want to leave after 15 minutes. Some items were pricey. Not your typical Goodwill prices, but that's totally understandable. If the customer service had been top notch, I wouldn't have minded paying top $ for resale items. I'm glad I stopped in, but I don't know when/if I'll be back. read more

Lucille's is a hidden gem. If you need a decent piece of furniture at a reasonable price, check out Lucille's. Also found their clothing to be excellent quality with better label brands. Their holiday decorations available for purchase are the type you would want in your home. Tacky stuff never hits the shelves. 5th star missing only due to their odd hours of business. read more

What a great resale place! It's revenue goes to support a school in the city in need, what a superior motive to engage our time and money. They have engaging workers, friendly and helpful. I've found several nice up to date designer clothes in great condition. The layout is easy to navigate, and a good variety of clothing from tops through shoes, and furniture. Prices are good and items are fairly recent in style. I would definitely donate here and stop in to check for new arrivals! read more

The difference between Lucille and other thrift shops is the difference between Target and Walmart: you can get a bargain at both places, but Target is a more enjoyable experience than Walmart. Lucille is cleaner, brighter, better-smelling and just more fun than a typical thrift store, and don't even get me started on the merchandise! I'm most interested in women's clothing, though they have men's clothing, furniture, housewares, etc. But the women's clothing all looks brand new - and the selection is definitely on the higher end of the spectrum. Lucille has just been open a few months, and I plan to stop by whenever I'm in the Arlington Heights / Mt Prospect / Palatine area. WHAT A TREASURE! read more

I'll be fair, when I came in there the place had been in its first month since opening. This may have explained the small selections. Though they donate the proceeds to charity. It has potential, and I'd come back to see if they have made progress if it obtains more items. Service was great, the person manning the store at the time was very nice and sweet, helpful. I'd like to think I'm a professional thrifter, and this may very well be my expertise. They have great potential. read more

This store is nicely organized, and the furniture is displayed like a furniture store with the sets also put together in "rooms". Squint and you feel like you are in Homemakers or Wicks in the 1970's-1990's (depending on the display). Generally, I don't find too much here. I did recently see a nice Dana Buchman coat though. It was very pretty, just a little too big, a little too formal, and the wrong colour for me. It was 40 dollars and may have been on sale. There was a 50 percent off clothing and coats sale in the store, but some items had a tag that said "Sale Price", so I was not sure and the volunteer was busy helping a lady load her car. At some point, I decided the size and colour were wrong, so I did not bother to wait for him to come back. Although I did not buy anything and the prices are a bit on the high side, I think under the right circumstances there are deals to find. It's worth a look as it's close to the Salvation Army and right across from Goodwill on Rand Road. read more

We found a travertine marble coffee table that's awesome and it looks fabulous in our family room!

Extremely high prices for resale and terrible customer service. Workers are short and annoyed when asked a question. Very unwelcoming.

Cute place. Spacious, clean, nice selection, reasonably priced and employees friendly. I would come here again. read more

Hello. I lowered my star due to the sudden change of kids not being sold there anymore. I went there little over a month ago and found 4 dresses from Hanna Andersen for my daughter and raved about the place to my thrifty friends. One of them went there about a week ago and mentioned the kids section wasn't there and she drove 50 miles to check the place out. I wish I could of gotten a heads up from the lady that rung me up a month ago in regards to the sudden changes . The staff are really nice though and I would come back. Please reply to this message if you will make this ONLY furniture thrift store, cause it seemed like that's what the place favored more. I want to make sure that I inform my thrifty friends correctly . Thank you... Shocked and saddened customer. read more

In the huge world of thrift, there are those exceptional resale stores that stand apart. In this thrifter's humble opinion, Lucille is definitely one of 'em! Located right next to Goodwill and Salvation Army stores on Rand Rd, Lucille provides a unique shopping experience--the sensation of a "treasure hunt" that so many of us enjoy. What distinguishes Lucille besides the obvious--cleanliness, lighting, "aroma"--is its helpful & friendly staff, an extensive & ever-changing selection of nothing-short-of-amazing (and well-priced) furniture, and fashionable women's clothing. I stop in frequently to see what's changed--never am I disappointed! I also like knowing that everything I purchase has been donated, and the money I spend ends up supporting an elementary school on the West Side of Chicago. The store is decorated with large photos of the school's students--they're adorable! Resale reinvented, indeed! Go Lucille! read more

At times the staff seems nonexistent. On several visits to the store I had to wait or try to locate someone to assist me in ringing up my purchases. Hence the 4 stars. The quality is better then most and affordable prices on clothing. The most exciting update is the jewelry counter! The jewelry presentation is very upscale with quality vintage and current jewelry of all kinds. read more

Lucille is the most beautiful resale shop; more like a boutique or consignment store. The shop is fresh and immaculately clean. The merchandise is displayed like a high end shop. Most of the clothing is current and the furniture looks like new. But the prices are definitely affordable for every pocketbook! Best of all, the proceeds go to assist students from pre-school to grade 8 at Holy Family School, located in a high risk neighborhood on the West Side. The friendly staff of mostly volunteers is helpful and knowledgeable. read more

Watch out for jewelry marked sterling. Found two pieces that were marked sterling silver by the shop, but were not actually sterling silver.

I found this place about a year ago, I have bought a few things. there prices are a little higher then Salvation army or Goodwill, but quality is higher. The people are super nice. It is always worth the trip if I'm looking for something I almost always find what I want, and if not maybe next week. I love this place! read more

This is a wonderful new resale store on Rand near Goodwill. It is a large, clean store featuring clothing, furniture, housewares, shoes and accessories. The clothes are clean and pressed. Everything is arranged neatly and the prices reasonable. They will "dicker" with you a bit on price but not much. They even deliver furniture for a small fee and will happily accept your donations. All proceeds go to Holy Family Ministries. read more

went here for the first time 2 weeks ago and it was a nice clean store. the people were friendly and I found some good lamps. BUT they really dont have anything that i need for my home. they have some nice furniture but typical resale old vintage stuff that I have no interest in. check your prices there!! they had a coffee table that was from ikea you can get ti brand new from ikea for the same price or I think it was 4$ more then they were selling it for. when i said ill take it for under half price (rightfully so since it was online!! ) i got denied. that didnt make me happy. but over all i will be back since the people were nice and they treated me well, besides the rat move of the coffee table lol read more
