We brought a really old, never cleaned, area rug in and they treated us like visiting family. The owner educated us about our rug and offered a reasonable price for cleaning & trimming the fringe. They explained they could "shave" it to restore the color but did not pressure us to do so & we opted not to. When we returned for pick-up we got the same warm welcome and some laughs as well. The rug looks great & they threw in a mat for free. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this establishment! read more

We bought our rug a year ago and love it. We moved a plant pot off of it and found it was discolored. When I called they immediately came and picked up the rug and brought it back like brand new. Fabulous service and great quality. Thank you read more

I highly recommend the team at Rugport Palatine if you need your rug cleaned, repaired, or appraised. I walked into the store looking for advice regarding two rugs I inherited from family members. I was warmly greeted. Ali immediately focused on answering my questions and describing the services they offer. Together we decided what should be done and the rugs were picked up before the end of the day. Within about two weeks, my rugs were cleaned, the edging was replaced, appraisals were completed and they were delivered to my home. Everyone I met was very knowledgeable, professional and polite. The pick up/delivery folks even helped with moving my furniture. I feel the cost of their services is reasonable. read more

They cleaned my rug and it looks like new! And their service was great. They picked it up for cleaning. They moved my heavy dining room table when they delivered the rug. The price was just what they quoted. Would definitely use them again. read more

I highly recommend this place if you're in the need for an area rug. I went to the store/warehouse on a whim while driving by as I thought they would primarily have oriental rugs. That is not the case. They have so many other rugs, including modern/contemporary rugs. Everyone is so helpful and patient while showing you the many rugs that they have. We were also able to take home a few rugs to see how they looked in our home before purchasing one. It was difficult to pick but we love the one we bought!! The owners even went way above and beyond by helping me charge the battery in my car after it died in their parking lot. I'll be back when I need another rug. read more

I came here with my dad to help him get a rug cleaned on recommendation from my aunts who have been coming here for years. After speaking with Amir and Houshi, he decided to purchase a new rug. Both of these gentlemen were super knowledgeable, accommodating, and personable. We had a great experience, enjoyed our time, and the rug looks absolutely beautiful. He will be back here next time he needs a rug. read more

What a great place to get area rugs. That are very knowledgeable and helpful. Very good pricing too.

I walked into the showroom on a whim after searching on line and in stores for months. I was overwhelmed by the number of rugs of all sizes and designs. I was quickly assisted by knowledgeable and very helpful people. They moved so many rugs to get a sense of what I was looking for. They brought many rugs to my home and all of them were contenders so they really understood my goal. I will definitely be back to them for more as my decorating continues. When I had a pet accident on the new rug, the owner talked me through it from his vacation overseas and sent help right away. Don't look anywhere else! There is a good reason they have been in business in Palatine for so long! read more

Rugport did a great job cleaning my wool rugs. They picked them up, delivered them back, and helped me place them in the right place. Very professional. Amir was the person that delivered but overall great experience. read more

We recently purchased multiple rugs from Rugport. The gentleman who helped was Amir, a more knowledgeable and professional man you will not meet. The warehouse is huge but Amir guided us through the process with much patience. He promised us same day delivery, and he delivered. When something didn't work, he took the rug back and brought us something better suited to our home. I would not hesitate to recommend Amir or Rugport. I am quite sure Amir is just the right person to see when selecting a rug. read more

We purchased a hand woven Sarape (from India) for our Family Room from Rugport approximately 10 or so years ago. They were very knowledgeable and had provided 4-5 rugs to try at home and see what would work best. We thought their price was reasonable, too. Flash forward to Summer 2021: We had Rugport clean and repair our beloved rug. Their repairs were high quality, done by hand and on a very reasonable timeframe. They are extremely knowledgeable, easy to work with and it's hard to believe, but they remembered us from so many years ago and treated us like family! They keep a wide variety of styles, colors and sizes so count on making several trips (if you're like me) to look, dream and decide what might work best in your home or office. You will find Alex & Hooshi very easy to work with and happy to assist you. read more

We had an antique hand knotted Persian rug repaired and cleaned and the workmanship was incredible. We also bought a new wool hand knotted rug and Amir's knowledge was unmatched....offered to let us take two rugs home to see them in our room. Their team was at our house in a 1/2 hour, put the rug down, made sure we were completely satisfied and took our old rug for cleaning. Fantastic service and very fair pricing. read more

Disclaimer - We did not buy a rug here. My mom was looking for an area rug for a home office. The inventory soon made it clear we would be better served by going to Menards or a similar store for that purchase because of her rug budget. (She needed cheap and functional...) Rugport has hand-made rugs that are works of art. They are not cheap but the quality and obvious attention to detail are outstanding. The owner got a chair for my elderly mother to sit in while we looked at the inventory. It quickly became obvious we were not looking for the cost and quality Rugport offers. But did he rush us out the door? No! He sat and talked with my mom for almost a half hour. He was super-friendly and loved to chat with us. As we left he insisted we take some potted cabbage plant plugs he had that a landscaping crew was planting on the small garden plots outside the shop! Rugport has been in Palatine for ages. If you have a higher-end rug budget, this is the place to go!! read more

Absolutely the largest selection of rugs i have seen by multiple times under one roof... I couldn't make a decision the first time I visited them, reason being i had too many to choose from. Ali one of the owners helped was very helpful in guiding me through the process of choosing.. his suggestion of a larger rug ended up better than my own choices and i am very happy with the beautiful wool rug i picked. Professional, helpful and friendly. I recommend this shop to any one looking for quality are rugs. Also fair prices.. read more

We took our high end shag rug to get cleaned and we were looking forward to having it cleaned and refreshed. It came back with a terrible odor and multiple stains that looked like it was dyed with red. There were not any precious stains on the rug prior to getting cleaned. Our rig came back in worse condition and we had to toss it. read more

From the moment I called this place, the guy was beyond rude. I wanted my oriental rug to be cleaned and paid extra to have it picked up from my house as I have a small car. The price he quoted on the phone was different then when he showed up at my house. It was $15 so whatever, I didn't make a big deal about it. They said they'd call when it was done. I pointed out the pet stains (that were very light anyway) and he said they would come out no problem. A month later, I call them. They lost the rug and had to call me back. Thank goodness i kept the paperwork. A few hours later they called me back and found it. Then he proceeded to yell at me because I didn't come get it sooner. Umm because you were supposed to call ME when it's done & I paid for delivery! So they delivered it the next day. It looked AWFUL!! Worse than before. They didn't pretreat the pet stains (like they told me they would) so they turned my beautiful white rug yellow in spots. They admitted it was not good so they took the rug back to wash it again. Another month goes by. I call to check on it. He's rude AGAIN on the phone and asks me yet again why I didnt come get it. This guy can't keep anything straight...how does he run a business? So they deliver it the next day. It looks better but the stains are still visible. The rug also SHRUNK bc who knows what they did to it at this point. It no longer fits my rug pad and the ends are uneven. Then he tries to charge more money for the 2nd washing after he agreed it didn't come out right the first time. This guy is just a di#k, completely rude and unprofessional through the whole process. Never once was I rude or even raised my voice, so it was completely unnecessary. He ruined my rug and in the end, I donated it to Goodwill. Please go somewhere else unless you want to be treated poorly and have them ruined your expensive rugs in the process. read more

I checked out this place last time I was in Palatine, as it came highly recommended to us by a few family members who live in the area. They were right! Great selection and great service! Very helpful owners, I highly recommend. If you truly treasure your oriental carpets, this is the place you'll have them cleaned and repaired/restored. Alex and his staff are so friendly. Most important, they do all the process the old Persian way, which is by hand. No machines touch your carpets during any of the processes. The pricing was very reasonable and the work was done on time. The repair work done was amazing. The cleaning unbelievable how vibrant the colors become after a proper cleaning. Also had thick pads custom cut for each carpet. I'm recommending Rugport to all my friends that own carpets read more

If you are looking for beautiful Persian rugs (they do have other kinds from other countries, of course) this place - which has been around for decades- has a beautiful selection! The co-owner helped me find a beautiful Kashkuli Rug for my entryway which was inspired by a painting from a famous Persian palace owned by Cyrus the Great,in the ancient city of Persepolis. This was like no other rug I have ever seen--I can't stop looking at it ever since I brought it home! I would definitely return to buy more rugs from here! read more

My husband and I were very pleased with our shopping experience at Rugport. Our priority was to find one rug, and we ended up purchasing three in total. 1) The customer service was great, and at no time did we feel pressured to buy. (We worked primarily with Houshi.) Purchasing a rug is an investment, so the last thing you want is to feel rushed. It took us a number of visits to finally hit on the right rugs for our home, and they were very patient, allowing us to take our time and feel confident with our choices. 2) Their prices are very competitive, and there is room for negotiation. We visited at least 5 other rug shops, and Rugport's prices were fair and in most cases less than what we had seen elsewhere. 3) We spent some time visiting various rug shops to get a feel for "what's out there." The selection at Rugport far surpassed what was available at the other shops. They really do have some gorgeous rugs in a variety of styles and sizes, and they seem to be getting new rugs in on a regular basis. read more

My wife and I have bought a least six rugs from Rugport over the years. I am consistently amazed at the selection of the Persian Rugs and the ease of doing business with Houshi. I had four rugs cleaned and one repaired by Rugport. All were orientals with fringes. For years, I had a cat who would deposit her hairballs on the fringe of my best rug and I was worried that her remnants would never leave. This place knows what they are doing, believe me. Moushi was very friendly and helpful and went out of his way to please. The fringes came out perfectly. My rugs all look practically new and incredibly gorgeous again. They also cut two pads for them and delivered and placed them like the pros that they are. You need to go no further to search for perfection. Here it is. read more

This place is a great find and has awesome customer service! You would never expect such great rugs in a small place in Palatine. I bought 2 wonderful rugs here many years ago and now again in 2016. I am slow to make decisions, but they patiently allowed me to try the rugs out at hone. I must have tried 15 different rugs, without any complaints from them. They are honest and work for you to be happy with your purchase. I would highly recommend them! read more

Very knowledgable and really care about helping you find something you love. Ali even spent time sharing antique rugs just for the enjoyment of seeing these beautiful works of art. They made my kids feel comfortable too. When we returned--Ali recalled all our names correctly. Amazing!
