I've driven by this rug shop many times over the years and always said I'd go in someday and I recently did and was very pleased to find that they do rug cleaning. I had two expensive rugs which were gifts from my mother that hadn't been cleaned in years and years cleaned by Reza's team and I couldn't be happier. They picked up the rugs, had them for about a week, and promptly dropped them back off when they were done. They even moved the big furniture I couldn't move by myself when they were picking up and dropping off, and made sure everything was just the way I like it before leaving. They were very friendly and sweet and insisted I didn't lift a finger. I also got new high quality rug pads for each rug, which Reza's cut to fit each rug exactly--and the rugs are so comfortable to walk and lay on now! Mr. Reza is a wonderful businessman. He offers same-day pickup (within his area) and does rug cleaning on his premises. His crew delivers, re-installs the rugs, and moves the furniture to accommodate. He has rescued me several times from dog stains and does a wonderful job at a really fair price. We brought 5 very dirty rugs in to be cleaned. We have two large dogs in the home that have done a number on these rugs (hair, accidents, rough housing, etc.)... I mean absolutely filthy. The owner could tell that we weren't using proper pads due to the noted wear. He recommended custom cut pads for each rug to help protect them -Worth it! They are high quality and very comfortable! They even repaired an area of fraying/tearing and offered to re-dye a portion to help restore our Heriz. A week later they delivered the rugs and offered to set them up with our furniture. The rugs are pristine - not a single dog hair in sight. Then entire thing ended up being less than expected - we will definitely use Reza's for all future rug cleaning/repairs! read more

A special place. I found Rezas when I wanted a rug cleaned. Reza convinced me that the value of the rug merited some repair as well. It was expensive and took a long time. Still, Reza over-delivered and I brought him two more projects. Visiting Rezas as a customer is a unique experience. The store is packed - wall to wall - with 4 foot stacks of antique rugs. The floors are squeaky old planks, and the lighting adequate but antique feeling. Behind the desk there is an old but solid sofa and table upon which it is not uncommon to see a bowl of fresh cut fruit. Reza is truly an expert, and if you are interested, he can share some of his knowledge - maybe over a cup of tea or Turkish coffee that he makes out of a strange contraption in the corner. I took my 10-year-old daughter there one day and she was mesmerized. She described the visit as something out of Harry Potter. But back to the services, first, they will get your quality floor rugs clean. Don't bother with your Ikea and Target rugs. They can be replaced. Reza has a cleaning pool in the basement in which they submerge the rugs and hand wash them bringing back the vibrant colors. They have a relationship with someone in the US to repair and reweave damaged rugs, but the cheaper, better, and slower method is to have him send them back to Asia where they are worked on by hand in mills near where the rugs were originally created. This process can take a year, but its worth it. Currently he is repairing a rug of mine that I thought was ready for the garbage. When he saw it, he told me exactly where it was made, by which tribe, that it was an important rug, and that it dated back to the 1870s. In spite of wear-through in some places, he convinced me that it could - and should be repaired. I look forward to having it returned. In summary, this is a weird, magical place, run by a proprietor who is the absolute best in his industry. If you a reason to go there you will love the experience. read more

A family treasure is a Greek Flokati rug that was made by my grandmother in Greece in 1909 for my father. She sheared the lamb/dyed the wool/wove a rug that she gave to my father who at 9 years old left the village to come to America to save the family. He embarked on a freighter that crossed the Atlantic in 6 weeks staying on top deck covering himself with this rug. He was afraid to go below deck. Having this rug in my family is so special and it was sun-damaged . Reza's appreciated the value of this to my family and cleaned and dyed the rug and it is absolutely beautiful. I have an oriental rug that I think is lovely and the moths found it delicious. Once I discovered this I called Reza's and they assured me they could repair it so it was good as new. Which they did!!!! Everyone I dealt with with was delightful, always offering me a cup of tea, which if you haven't had Persian tea try it because it is amazing. They also did extras which I wasn't charged for, let me keep the rug at their location until I moved and gave me a pad for my rug when I picked it up. About four feet of fringe had disappeared under my desk chair wheels and about two square yards of carpet was very badly soiled in the pathway to my desk. His staff did a fabulous job of replacing the fringe, so much so that it is nearly impossible to tell where the work might have been done. It's rare that you find someone who is as genuinely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful as Reza. I came in with two yalameh runners that needed cleaning and fringe repair work. He patiently explained the cleaning process and the various options available to repair the rugs. He showed examples of his work, which were flawless performed. We called Reza's to have some rugs cleaned - one very large, Oriental rug, and two small Egyptian wall -hanging rugs. The guys literally came over 30 minutes later - I mean, it was quick! It was great that we didn't have to schlep the stuff over, especially since the one rug is really really big. In addition, the Oriental piece needed repairs. So far, so good. They cleaned up the fringe and re-wove the damaged rug portions. The only reason that my review isn't a full 5 stars is because it was pretty pricey. However, I didn't price out other places so it's possible that their rates are completely competitive. The other great thing I liked was that when they set up a time to deliver the repaired/cleaned rugs, they ACTUALLY SHOWED UP AT THE TIME THEY HAD SPECIFIED. When does that happen?!
