I would not use this company again. The salesperson told me the boards needed to be replaced and quoted me for that work. When the installer team came out, they did not replace the boards and told me new boards were unnecessary. I was still charged for the board replacements anyway. I disputed this directly with the company on March 19th, the day of the installation, and did not receive a follow-up. I had to reach back out on March 31st to continue addressing the issue. At that point, they asked for photos, despite my earlier explanation that photos would not prove anything because of the nature of the work. Today, they responded by saying the pictures were "not proof" and agreed to issue a refund, but only after I pushed the issue. At that point, it's no longer just about the money. It's about integrity, poor internal communication, and how a legitimate customer concerns are handled by this business. read more

Royal Home removed our old, cracked ceramic tile kitchen floor, replaced the subfloor and installed new LVP flooring. Starting with our original appointment with Mo, and ending with our installation team of Guillermo and Miguel, it was a great experience. They have a great product selection within my budget. The installers were wonderful: experts at dealing with the Idiocracies of old houses, efficient and neat. I had my entire home flooring installed by this company on May 5-6, 2025. Due to the excessive dust in the house afterward, we opened the windows and stayed with family until May 8, 2025. On that day, I contacted my salesman to inform him about the damage done to my bed. My bed is now shifting and making squeaking noises. The salesman advised me to call the office and provided me with the phone number. When I called the office, I was given a date for the installers to come out on Monday, May 12, 2025; however, no one arrived. On Tuesday, I called back and was told my appointment had been rescheduled to Wednesday between 12 PM and 2 PM, but again, no one showed up. I called once more and was given another appointment for Thursday between 12 PM and 2 PM. On Thursday, three installers arrived, looked at my bed, and explained that the movement was due to the legs needing felt pads since we no longer had carpet. They claimed they couldn't hear the squeaking noises that I could clearly hear and insisted the sounds were coming from my air conditioning system, which I knew was not the case. I called the office again about the squeaking noises coming from my bed's smart base when vibrating, and I was offered a $75 check as compensation. I explained to the lady on the phone that this amount would not be sufficient for me because I suffer from severe migraines, which the vibration helps alleviate, but I cannot tolerate light or noise during these times. I was then told that they would accept no liability, stating there was no way to prove that the bed was not making the noises prior to the installation. I believe the damage to my bed occurred because they did not remove the mattress and box spring from my king-size platform bed, which is on a smart base; they simply slid it around the bedroom to complete the flooring without taking it off. This situation is unacceptable, especially since I didn't even mention the damage caused to my dinette table, which is now also an issue due to their unwillingness to address my bed's problem. I would like my damaged items to be repaired or replaced. This was a $20,000 project (1842 square feet), and I even gave a $100 tip upon completion. I would not do business with this company again, especially after choosing Royal Flooring despite their higher quote because of their good reviews. They came out to my home and sold me a laminated wood floor, which cost me $18,000 telling me that it was water resistant. A little water got on the floor and I saw a little bubble in the laminate and when I call, they said it wasn't waterproof just resistant meaning you should resist putting water on the floor. They did absolutely nothing to try to help me and getting my floor fixed, but promised me a quote. Show me how many boxes I would need and how much they would charge me for labor to come out and fix the ruined spots. Horrible horrible customer service and I would not recommend them to anyone! read more

Did not receive service I as requested. Ihad 2 stairs put in and 1 of them was not even sanded before it was sealed. Was assured their technicians are the best in the business - don't believe them! Deplorable Experience - Avoid at All Costs I'm writing this review as a warning to anyone even thinking about using Royal Flooring in Chicago. A year ago, they came out to give me a flooring repair quote. But rather than assess the issue or show any samples, they pushed for a full tear-out and replacement--no materials, no options, no consultation. Just a vague bid and a goodbye. Fast-forward a year later, I gave them a second chance based on a friend's recommendation. That was a mistake. A man named Art, claiming to be the vice president (a title I seriously question), called me directly. He acted disinterested from the start, repeating that "we've already been out there," as if that somehow excused them from doing their job. It had been over a year. They had zero records, no clue what had been discussed, and no professionalism. I had to call back multiple times just to get Art on the line, because he ghosted me after the office said he'd call. When I finally reached him, I was told he'd been "out sick." Fine--things happen. But it didn't end there. After we spoke and I explained everything again, he admitted no one had ever shown me material samples. He apologized, promised to get someone out the next day. That tech showed up unannounced while I was working--no confirmation, no heads-up. They rang the buzzer repeatedly. I called back the next day and Art acted surprised, asking why I hadn't answered. I told him: "You never confirmed an appointment." Again, I was patient. He then set up a final, supposedly confirmed visit for the following Wednesday. No one came. Again. I called. Heard him literally talking in the background with the secretary, scrambling: "Can he still get there today? No? Okay." I was listening to this like a fly on the wall. I said, "You know what? Forget it. I'm done with this." This company wasted my time twice. They're disorganized, dishonest, and completely lacking in professionalism. If this is how they treat potential clients for a $16,000 job, imagine what happens once they have your money. Think twice. Then think again. And go somewhere else. **UPDATE*** The business wrote a threatening reply to my "Google Review", stating they were contacting Yelp, and would "get the administrators on yelp to remove my review! They don't have their own contractors either they sub everything out and likely pay their workers nothing. This is speculation but they don't have their own teams. Good business don't need to threaten others, they move on and try to make it right with others. They think they can bully others who write reviews, but they are UNFAMILIAR with Illinois Law. If anyone else is getting legal and or threatening responses from this business, I'm on board to file a class action. read more

They did a great job on the install however the team that laid the LVP did all the wood sawing in the living room, leaving me with blinds covered in sawdust and heat vents with a half inch of sawdust. We had the painter planned to come in to do his painting and he showed us the ducts. I was very disappointed..we had an empty garage and driveway ready for such work but they chose the living room. The floor looks great but also had debris that needed vacuuming. The carpet team did a great job. read more

Update as of 10/20/25 Door still broke and now they wanted me to have an unlicensed contractor to install a door from Menards. I'm offended and looks like I'm just going to have to file an insurance claim and have State Farm sue them for damages. Please don't do it I wanted to document my experience in real time so you see what they put their customers through. And the owner never even gave me a call. Update as of 10/1/25 This has been the worst experience from a service contractor. The installers insurance was not effective and they ruined my front doors. I have called the better business bureau and provided all the email of promises to replace my doors. Now the owner has to come out of pocket because the installers didn't have proper insurance and won't cover the damages. They wont replace or repair the security door they broke and want to hire a handyman man instead of a door expert to replace my door. This has cause so much emotional distress. I asked for the owner just to give me a call in the matter and he won't even do that. I have been patient and professional the whole time and Sal the owner has disrespected me in every turn. They took my $7200 ruined my home and all the promise to replace my doors were a lie. Please learn from my mistakes and don't use this company they don't have proper insurance and will ruin your home like they ruined mine. 9/15/25 Don't do it! Then they put this tacky weather stripping under it and told me not to call the office and to just go through them the installers. Now I'm having to go through all type of changes to get the door replaced. I feel hustled and I have a broken front door and im getting so much resistance to just get a new door. They wanted 2 quotes I gave it to them and now they're trying to go the cheap route. They broke my property why am I going through this. But the manager Cecilia has been rude and totally unhelpful in this matter. She even gave me a fake policy number for the claim. Updating my review- from 2 stars to 3 in October 2025. I would love to say my problem was resolved incident free but I can't. We did eventually get it resolved. I was finally sent a few carpet samples, which I was asking for and offering to buy from the beginning. Unfortunately, I had to get the Better Business Bureau involved before I could even get a response from the company. Once that happened, they did respond and they sent their Google review girl to try to help me. She told me that instead of charging me $750 they were charging me 450 once again reiterated that I did not even want them to do the work. I just wanted to buy some carpet since they didn't leave me with any of the leftover pieces. She said they couldn't sell the carpet. I said that's fine. Just tell me what the manufacturing color is so that I can make sure that when I buy a piece somewhere else I've got the right color. This turned into an enormous rigmarole for weeks, no matter how many times I asked to speak to someone who knew about the actual carpet I was not allowed to. I was refused the color name over and over again. Every time I talked to her, although my problem was not yet resolved, she asked me to take down my Google review. I said I would not take it down, but that I would update my Google review when my problem was resolved. Anyhow, they finally sent me the samples. Hooray that was all I wanted. I don't know why this had to be so hard. And I was immediately sent a nondisclosure agreement to sign about the entire experience which I refuse to do. I reiterated that I would happily pay for the carpet samples or send them back if that's what they wanted, but I was not going to sign a non-disclosure agreement about the situation. She said that's fine just take down your Google review. Which again I refuse to do. You should know what you're getting into with this company and be prepared to cover your butt after installation order extra carpet if you need to to have some around also, if you have another company do any repair work on it voids your warranty with this company. Again they will not do any repair work. It's only full room installation. If that works for you great they did a great job on the whole room installation and their installers were very nice. -I had carpet installed in 2025. It cost around $1500 which was acceptable. The installation went really smoothly. I like the carpet. This could've been a five star review. Unfortunately, they throw you out the window once the carpet is installed When selling me the carpet They made it sound like if there were ever any issues in the future I could contact them and they would be able to help. there was some damage done to the carpet in a closet when bifold doors were being removed Two or three months after the installation. I called five or six times and emailed repeatedly. Finally hunted someone down. They basically told me that they would not help me repair or replace that 2 x 3 piece of carpet for less than $750. They also will not just sell me a piece of matching carpet either in a sample size to patch the damage or large enough to do the whole closet. They won't even tell Me where I can get a piece of the carpet for myself since they won't sell it to me. They keep telling me that the installer should've left me with some carpet Well, they did not. And how was I supposed to know that? That was 100% not the service I was sold. I am 100% happy to pay to have the carpet replaced or repaired in that closet, but I am not paying their base minimum fee,which is half the cost of doing the entire room. I want just fix the damaged part OR just sell me a couple of samples OR tell me where I can get the same carpet to fix the damage. Stop trying to extort me for 750 extra dollars. read more

If I could give a half-star, I would. In the beginning I was excited & pleased with the proposal. The quote was high but I liked working with "Sky" who is no longer there. And explained everything well. When the workers came to do the job, that's when the nightmare began. The workers did not speak or understand English. There was definitely a list in translation. I purchased water resistant flooring... not true. They completed the project in 2 days. However, it was not to my satisfaction. They covered the tile with the plank flooring which caused an uneven floor. Which is noticeable. I see buckling already from my dog's water bowls. The areas that had carpeting is fine. The entire staff is incompetent. When you call you never speak to the same person which is very disappointing because you have to start all over again repeating your story. I am still waiting for an email from the manager, explaining what they're going to do to remedy this situation if you are considering flooring, please do not consider royal. Plus it's an Estimate, an estimate, by definition is an approximation. This is the most unprofessional company in the city of Chicago. The work is deplorable. The lifetime warranty is a fabrication that they do not honor. The nightmare began on day one when I was unable to communicate with the installers because of a language barrier. They used the wrong color stain. Then proceeded to go over that stain with different color. The stain was supposed to match my existing trim and doors. They do not. They recklessly dripped stain from the can throughout the house then sealed over it so now I have polka dots all over my floor. They sealed the floors twice; not allowing the 1st pass to cure before applying the 2nd. The floors scratch easily now from not curing properly. . It took 4 months to get a response after an email and numerous phone calls. They sent out an "inspector." The "inspector" that came was the same employee who destroyed my floors. I find it a conflict of interest that they would send the employee who destroyed my floors in the first place. Obviously, he's not going to find a problem because he was the one that performed the terrible work. He implied that "an animal" made these stains. There has never been any animal on the floor. This is a company that not does care about the quality of their work. The installers wore no masks or face coverings to protect them from harmful chemicals. This company does not value the health or safety of their employees. From further research, I have also found that this company responds to every negative review blaming the customer. In no response, do they apologize, take action to fix the problem or try and make the customer feel whole. read more
