I got hardwood floors refinished in family room/kitchen after damage from an ice dam and also decided to get Pergo LVT in the Powder room. The PR came out nicer than I expected! Bill, the sales rep, made a great recommendation with the LVT and our experience with him along with the helpful office staff were the bright spots of the experience and is the reason why I mustered up 3 stars. The hardwood floors came out - just "okay." The areas that got damaged are nice and smooth. Two polyurethane coats - applied all in the same day - a couple hours in between coats - left a shine about the same as the rest of the floors in the house that didn't get refinished. Beware - you probably should expect more dust than typical and the need to discard open food items with dust in it. The crew did an awful job in my case with prepping and apparently didn't wrap a single cabinet or appliance before sanding the floors. Landmark provided a discount acknowledging the mess which was appreciated. Aside from days of dust clean-up (in between working) and re-buying groceries items, Landmark did the job I paid them to do (the floor is repaired and the PR floor is installed) but unfortunately I'm just not up for the dust cleanup again in the future. read more

But once I contacted the owner Nick Cinquepalmi explaining my issues. Nick Cinquepalmi had a guy out there the very next day addressing them. Within a few days they addressed all my concerns. I was very disappointed in Landmark Flooring. We had carpeting installed in 2021 and only two years later there was an issue with the backing of this carpet. Although the carpeting was re-stretched in 2023, the carpet became loose and buckled again. After a few months Nick presented options to correct the problem. We chose to replace the carpet but ending up paying for labor, furniture, tearout and a dumpster. The mill agreed to replace the carpet and I really don't understand why Landmark did not absorb some of the cost to re-install the carpeting. I also notice that their invoices never show the breakdown of what the cost of the carpeting and other services will be. Just a total for the job shows on the invoice??? In addition, the team of installers sent to our house did not reflect the best manners and there was somewhat of a language barrier in our communication. Although Nick tried to provide resolution to our issues, I am sad that this experience left me with much reserve to recommend Landmark Flooring. read more

Do not go to landmark flooring!! We had our carpet installed in 2020 and it was great no issues. We had vinyl flooring installed in Oct 2023 and it has been a nightmare. The installers broke our brand new door while demo. They didn't want to buy for a new one until seeing the fiberglass was completely cracked and I still had to fight with them. They also wanted to have the installers that damaged our door come back to finish after being so careless. Service techs have come out multiple times to fix thresholds that had nails sticking out and where they completely cut all our carpet away as well as our vinyl floor has separated at least three times now due to it not being cut properly. Their customer service is awful and my voice has not been heard. I am so disappointed and would have never gotten my floors done if it was going to be so bad. We worked with Bill and it has been terrible. I would give them zero stars if I could. read more

We recently had a water leak that left our dining room floor buckled and jutting up nearly six inches from the sub-floor. Based on two previous five-star experiences with Landmark Flooring, one for tile on a sun porch and another for bedroom carpet, we called them to assess the damage and restore the floor. The owner, Nick, came out immediately himself to assess the job, provided reliable contacts for the non-flooring work, and they started quickly. We have ten-year old hard wood floors throughout that have experienced varying levels of traffic and sunlight over the years, so we were pleasantly surprised by how well the newly finished floor matched the hardwood in rest of the house - that is a tough request. The workers were clean, courteous, and very respectful of protecting our furniture and window treatments while they worked. Another exceptional result and tremendous value for what we paid. I am sure that the owner will try to say I too tried to take advantage and manipulate the advertisement but the truth is, I had a $2,000 Groupon and still planned on spending an additional $4,000 (total $6,000 budget, give or take) on flooring for my home. I read the fine print and I didn't expect something for nothing and I had over twice the square footage required for the Groupon. Granted, this was my 1st time purchasing flooring and I learned soon enough that a budget of 6k would NOT be enough to floor my entire home. But aside from a very friendly Rosemary encountered on my first call, everything that transpired afterwards was a horrible experience. So much so that Groupon canceled my order and refunded my credit card - no questions asked. It started with the person who came to measure. Despite my being very clear that he was to bring samples to me when he came and measured, he showed up empty handed and then tried to say that he "didn't know". Considering that I advised him on the phone when we spoke - and I quote - "Denise said to please make sure you pick up some samples between now and when you come to measure" and he acknowledged, to then try to say that he "didn't know" was unprofessional. At least man up and admit you forgot. I can't respect or trust someone who does not take accountability for their mistakes. It was like pulling teeth to then get the quote from Denise, I had to request it several times and Nick gave me the excuse of them being busy (they were running another Groupon at the time) and believe me there was no apology behind it, I got the impression that I was bothering him. When I finally got the "estimate", it was a hand-typed email that had been forwarded several times due to their inability to get my simple email address right (I had given it no less than 4 times - twice to Denise, once to Nick, and once on the voicemail message I left), with copious misspellings and extremely vague details. Again, very unprofessional. The alarm bells started going off in my head, and right then I determined that I would fulfill the minimum requirement of the Groupon and just be done with this company. But when I asked for clarification of the email - repeatedly - and got no response, I had had enough. That is when I called Groupon. To be honest, I called Groupon for the sole purpose of tattling, hoping they would get on Landmark to be a little more professional. But I can only assume that Groupon had a few complaints against Landmark under their belt already, because when I started to read the Groupon rep the email that Denise sent to me, she offered right then and there to refund my credit card. This short lived but miserable experience was really disappointing. I was so excited to replace my flooring and happy to have purchased the Groupon but Landmark left me like a kid finding out that Santa Claus wasn't real and the toys came from China and not made from elves in Santa's workshop. It takes a lot - A LOT - to make me give a one star rating but all I can say is... if Landmark was this crappy BEFORE the work was even done... then thank goodness I dodged THAT bullet. How one reviewer can say that they were so gracious for a tiny project while treating my 6k budget as though it were beneath them just boggles my mind. By comparison, another company provided a very professional estimate, high-quality carpeting/padding, very detailed labor info (where several things that Landmark had cited as "extra" were included, such as moving furniture), and through a special promotion directly from Mohawk carpets, no finance charges until 1/15. So glad that a more deserving company is getting my business. read more

Well, I read the other review, but I can't imagine that is a very typical experience just in general, much less for Landmark Flooring. Lots of people have problems with Groupons with lots of places. I am a little surprised that no one else has posted a review, because I have been very excited about the level of engagement and service that I have experienced with Landmark Flooring from the very start to the completion of my project today. I posted a tiling project I needed done on Service Magic and within minutes, probably less than 10, Nick, the owner, gave me a call and seemed very sincerely interested in my tiny project (replacing a tile backsplash on a bathtub). From that phone call onward, Nick and his crew have been extremely responsive, unfailingly friendly and straightforward. Not only was their estimate lower than other local contractors, they followed up more frequently and were able to fit me in within 48 hours of when I accepted their bid. Bobby and his partner arrived at my house on time, as promised. They were extremely considerate of my belongings that are currently in massive disarray as we are completing several home improvement projects simultaneously. We normally remove our shoes when we're at home, but I knew that Bobby and his partner would be working and didn't mention that fact, however, Bobby's partner must have removed his shoes upward of 12 times today before heading up the stairs into our master bath. I was in the next room, so I assume he didn't think I'd notice, but I did, and I appreciate it immensely. In the end, they also did a really beautiful job on the tile and far exceeded my expectations of the work on pretty much every count. So, in summary, if anyone is looking for a full-service local floor contractor who will bend over backwards for your business, follow up more than you might yourself, give you a straightforward, accurate estimate with an extremely fast turnaround time and do a beautiful job to boot, then Landmark Flooring are your guys. read more

Landmark Flooring and Nick have been doing a stellar job in the south suburbs for a few years now. Full friendly service and competitive prices. My pad is so much better now, I swear before Nick's crew came to the rescue I was still finding roofies from the eighties in my carpet. Now the shag is gone, Brazilian hardwoods wall to wall make it way easier to find my pills and lost cheerios. I had priced around and those nut jobs on the radio were insane. They had more up charges than buying a Porsche. Landmarks pricing was upfront and on target, besides they were way cheaper than the 1 800 shops. I am surprised to see a few negative reviews,, but after reading them the majority seem suspicious any way. Hands on, family owned, locally owned this is how people should do business. read more

Had the worst experience with Landmark. got close to 10k in carpet and laminate and from start to finish was a total disaster. The laminate was installed in the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room. the installers looked only about 15 years of age. With in 3 days the floor was separating and there became gaps. larger gaps that you could see the floor underneath. and a few scratches, Sent pictures right away and was told it would be took care of. In the meantime, ordered 5k in carpet. That was installed and they covered the entire furnace vent in one of the rooms. and also placed a nail tack in the middle of the floor, also didn't put the divider strip between the laminate and carpet between rooms so the floors were not help in place and shifting. Called right away about carpet, all while the laminate still hadn't been addressed, said someone would call and it would be next week. totally unexplainable. when I mentioned about the issues with the laminate and resent the picture. We were told that we did by moving something on it and that we would have to pay. (landmark was the one that moved appliances at installation). called the owner and he did get someone out there the next day but charges us 150 for that. Finally got the issues resolved untill today when we bought a new dishwasher and as the installation person was removing the old one. there was a chunk of laminate flooring that just pooped out. How does a piece just pop out. Again called the owner direct and was told that the installation guy had to have done it. Again how can someone just pull up a center piece of laminate? was again told that i had to pay to have someone come out tomorrow to fix it, and they wanted payment upfront. When i called and told them i would pay after the issue is completed. i was told that they will not send anyone out to the house unless i paid first. ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT AND THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. but let me remind you they were calling us daily for balance due. even got a personal text from the owner himself asking me to call in and take care of the balance and the guy will be out the next day. This was completed in two days by competent installers and all for a great price that no one else could match. I did not need a Groupon to get a good deal. After searching for a particular style of laminate flooring for a few months, I finally found what I was looking for at Landmark. Landmark Flooring had an extensive variety of flooring to choose from and it was decently priced. Brenda assisted me in selecting the best flooring for my needs. Brenda answered my questions promptly and was in constant communication with me as I tried to select flooring. After about 3 weeks of deliberating, I decided that I would install the laminate myself (Landmark wanted $1800 for install) and placed an order for laminate and carpeting (to be installed by Landmark) on July 1st. I received a call from Brenda on July 8th stating that my flooring materials were in. Brenda suggested a delivery and install date of July 13th. I was not available on this date so set July 23rd as the carpet installation date. On July 23rd, Chris installed the carpeting in 2 rooms. Upon completion, Chris brought in the laminate materials. As Chris was getting ready to leave, I asked Chris to confirm that all of the materials were brought in. Chris stated that the T-molds and quarter round pieces were not delivered because they were on backorder. I questioned why I was just being informed of this, seeing as I received a phone call 2 weeks prior stating that my ordered materials were available for delivery. Chris stated that someone from the company would be in contact with me soon. After Chris left, I contacted Brenda. I expressed my concern that I was not made aware of any 'backordered items' during the phone call on July 8th and, even more concerning, if I had not taken it upon myself to question if all materials were delivered on July 23rd, I would not have known that materials were on backorder. In addition to this, I noticed that the padding/underlayment had not been delivered either. Brenda stated that she would deliver the padding to my house. She apologized and stated that she had no control over what materials the flooring suppliers have in stock. She assured me that the delivery of the backordered materials would be expedited and would be available for pick up on Tuesday July 28th. Upon hearing this, I expressed my dissatisfaction and frustration as my scheduled laminate installation date was July 25th. On July 25th, I began laying the padding and quickly realized that the two rolls of padding Brenda dropped off was not even close to being enough padding for the area to be covered. Again, I contacted Brenda. She stated that she would have a roll waiting for me with my backordered materials on Tuesday. On July 28th, I returned to Landmark to pick up the backordered materials. I was greeted by Rick and he proceeded to gather my materials. I asked if he could double check the materials to ensure that all materials were there. Rick stated that the quarter round was missing and proceeded to call Brenda. Based on their conversation, it appeared that there were never any materials on "backorder" but, rather, these materials were never ordered. I expressed my frustration with the lack of organization and communication, as well as the amount of time that these mistakes had cost me. Rick stated that he would refund the delivery charge, the furniture moving fee, and have Chris paint and install the quarter round in an effort to rectify this mistake. On August 18th, Chris installed the quarter round. I asked if he had the paint I had supplied him with. He stated that he forgot it and would drop it off the next day around 6:00. The paint was not returned the next day; it was returned a week later. As I painted the nail holes on the quarter round, I noticed that many of the pieces were not tightly fitted against the wall and there were substantial gaps between pieces that had to be filled and painted. Additionally, a few of the nails were not angled into the wall properly, resulting in detached quarter round a few days after install. I borrowed tools and reattached the quarter round to the wall myself. A few days later, Rick contacted me and stated that I should expect a refund in the form of a statement credit of $220 in September. There was no statement credit in September, nor was there one in October. I contacted Rick and he stated he had been out of the office for a few weeks and that he would look into the situation. I asked him to call me to let me know the status of my refund. I have yet to receive a phone call and have yet to receive a credit for delivery and furniture moving as indicated back in July. At this point, I am not as concerned with the refund as I am with sharing my experience with other consumers as I, personally, rely on consumer reviews when purchasing just about anything. While I am pleased with the products I purchased and the carpet installation, I am ultimately disappointed with the customer service provided overall. If I could do it all over again, I would purchase from another flooring retailer. read more

I too found Landmark through Groupon, but my experience was fantastic! I spoke with Nick on the phone first, told him what we wanted and even gave him the estimates we already had been given by some of the other carpet companies. He guaranteed us a better price. When we went to the store, I was impressed with his selection. I really liked the personal service. There was NO hard sell or attempts to get me to buy something more expensive. We needed a lot of carpet in a short amount of time. He worked with us to make it happen. We couldn't be happier with the results. We will definitely use Landmark again. They do tile too! read more

Purchased a couple hundred square feet of Somerset engineered flooring with the intention of installing it as a floating floor. The sales person knew upfront I was doing a floating floor. Wish I had ordered my trim at the same time because I then would have realized they did not have the trim I wanted for the look I was going for. I did find the trim on line for around 55 buck per unit but the vendor does not sell direct. I called Landmark who quoted me 78 dollars per unit. Ridiculous. One dollar per inch and it was not an exact match and I would have to modify the trim to accommodate a floating floor. Looking for some direction I asked what Landmark would do. They responded they would do the transitions as glued flush butt. That means the floor technically is no longer a floating floor and in my opinion at risk of glue failure and separation. I told the sales person I wish I had known about the limited trim selection with 1/2 inch engineered flooring and was now considering returning the flooring materials. His immediate response was he would have to charge me a restocking charge and he would have the owner call me. He did finally say he would keep looking for the correctly sized trim and would get back to me. It been a week and I'm still waiting for either one to call. I feel like they left me hanging. This project will get completed as a floating floor. I suggest whoever goes floor shopping at Landmark do your homework when it comes to engineered flooring because they have not. read more

This business has a groupon offering and I spoke with Denise over phone about a small project that we were thinking of. She mentioned that Thursday lower priced groupon was meant for these kind of small projects and encouraged us to come in and look at the offerings they have. I was kind of wary of making the 90 mile trip with little kids in tow but Denise assured me that they would be able to work with us and the savings with groupon would be considerable. We met with Nick in the store and my husband spoke with him first since the kids were sleeping. He explained to him that we were looking to replace about 65sft of carpet with laminate and would like to get an estimate. My husband showed him colors of the sample we were trying to match and Nick showed him one possibility and told him it will be $600-700 without giving him any breakup of the costs. I was in our car since the kids were sleeping and he told ne whAt he was told and asked me if I wanted to go talk. When he stayed with the kids and I walked in to get some clarity on the break up of costs, Nick was irritated that he has to explain twice and waste his time fr such a small project. He was as rude as it can get. I am so shcoked that they would treat a potential customer like that. Though if I got the groupon and did this project with them we would have saved some money, the way he talked to us made us decide we didn't want to do anything with this business. If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. I was intrigued with this place because of the reviews, however our experienced was far from it! Please do not waste your time or money, especially if you are hard working people.The employees rushed the process from start to finish, which led to falsifying shipment dates, a delayed installation time (5 hours late), and to top it off not enough product to finish flooring our place. Although the job took an additional week to finish, the company charged our credit card before the job was completed. Furthermore, customer service proved to be appalling as the three main employees were rude, uncaring and flat out disrespectful. On my last purchase, a cherry oak hardwood, from purchase to the project being completely installed only took around a week. I have read some of the negative reviews and am shocked.
