I guess it's true what they say; most people don't post reviews when service is good (and "I'm definitely guilty of this"). We've exclusively been using Floor & Decor when it comes to our home rebuild. When dropping over 14k in flooring and tile, you would think service would be exceptional every visit no matter what; We'll we have been proved wrong. Our visit today took me over the limit. Sales associate Tripp was rude and arrogant. I recently tore my rotater cuff. Thus, I asked for help unloading the car with extra tile to take the pressure off my wife. Will Tripp related that "I can grab a cart, pull the car up, and unload it." I could already tell by his demeanor he forgot he was a sales associate and that I was going to have to repeat myself while making sure it wasn't in the form of a question but instead a statement. What really irked me was the fact that he acted as if me asking was killing him, and it ment he would have to personally stop running his big mouth to help us. When in actuality, he was just going to have to radio it in to someone else. Floor & Decor, please re-educate sales associate Tripp on what it means to work customer service. read more

Been to Floor & Decor twice. Both visits I was given Top-Notch Customer service. Erika and Phil are very knowledgable and friendly. We made a large purchase and when we went to pick the merchadise up, that's when it all went to Hell in a handbasket. The "gentleman" behind the pick=up counter was rude and debated everything I was trying to explain to him, INCLUDING whether my vehicle was a SUV or a wagon. My advice , for what it is worth is if you can't fit the merchandise in your car,wagon, SUV, truck, bus, etc. spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Customer Service, is a Dinosaur in these times. This store is new and growing. Over the years, I have shopped the Countryside store. It's a larger store but you can order from Tinley if they don't have something in stock. We have returned to this store multiple times because of the customer service we received in this nearby Tinley Park store. One of the associates, LaKenya, is very knowledgeable and makes sure to do what she can to help in all areas. The first time I encountered her she was working in the tile section. The next time she was at the front end. She leaves a lasting impression on customers and knows how to resolve customer's needs satisfactorily. I purchase thousands of dollars every year with this company. An unexpected delay in tile work installation. When we went to complete we realized we were short some tile. Went back for more and were told it was discontinued (and had already been when sold to us but we were not told that fact) so we could no longer get the few pieces we would be short. We asked to return what we had so we could pick a new tile. We were denied and told we could "dispute this" buy following provided instructions. We did so only to be promised that a fair review would be made. We received a computer generated letter stating simply that the return was denied with no explanation as to why with no means to dispute the dispute that had never truly been given any consideration. This company has lost my business forever when they cannot take back $500 worth of product that they can easily resell (like they did to my client) and have the client pick a new tile. Simply BAD business. I cannot give them further business knowing that they do not have the backing they should for contractors who spend thousands with them annually. read more

Was at Floor and Decor right before close In Tinley Park and saw a damaged vanity base for sale. As the store was closing I left. Called the store the next morning to buy the vanity. There system was down so they couldn't send the quote. I asked it they would put it on hold and I would be in the next day after work. I was told by the sales associate he had spoken to his manager and they would put it on hold and when I arrived check with the register to pay for it and they would bring it up. I arrived the next day as agreed and the gal at the register new nothing about it. I gave her the name of the sales associate. He came up after about 10 minutes with a pc of paper saying hold for Dave M. Then proceeded to tell me the piece had just been sold. I asked how could it of been sold when you told me you were holding it and had a sign on it specifically saying hold. He then brought me back to another manager (I believe the head store manager) who proceeded to tell me the same thing that it had been sold and their policy is not to put items on hold. I asked him the same question to which he replied. "If I had a dollar for everytime someone asked for something to be put on hold and never showed up I'd be rich". I'm in the warehouse business and I can assure everyone reading this even if that were our policy I would never say it to a customer. Especially one that was told something completely different the day before. How is it that the managers of the same company at the same store seem to have different understandings of policy? I suggest you review policy and provide proper training on it and customer service. Especially your managment team. At least at the Tinley Park store. read more

Purchase thousands of dollars of floors and other items for a project . After completing the project went to return the excess items for a refund or store credit . The store uses a 90 refund policy at their discretion by a third party and refused to return the excess well close to 2k from the project and refused to exchange it for other items . CAVEAT EMPTOR and the management at the store has such a nonchalant attitude. Because my company is with the PRO department they will lose thousands of dollars from my future purchases and all of my contractors . I will use the excess you refused to return on another project but word of mouth will hurt your business !!! Read the refund policy UPDATE 10/31 I Received a call from the Pro Premier Manager Al Johnson who apologized for the inconvenience and suggested I bring the items back for a store credit as I suggested in the first place. Both myself and other contractors use the store for our projects and I did not request a full credit refund of close to 2k in overage materials. I explained politely to the other manager in the store that when we unloaded I was not expecting a refund of cash as I paid . The previous manager Conner who provided me a "as a matter of fact this is our policy". When Mr Johnson spoke to me it was professional , emphatic and concerning. Thanks Mr Johnson I'll continue to shop with you ALONE at the Tinley Park Facility and also refer my fellow colleagues . Kudos to you making it right for me! JS read more
