My wife and I had an outstanding experience with Surface Solutions in Mokena. Eric and Samantha were terrific in guiding us through the selection process for our Cambria Quartz slab and Ruvati sink, coordinating installation, and following through. We originally met with a big box store for a complete kitchen makeover, but the rep there only had small 4x4" samples--hardly enough size to feel confident about such an important choice. The big box rep also didn't explain key details like thickness options, polish finishes, or how the flow and pattern of quartz can minimize seams in a large space. Eric, on the other hand, was a true professional. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly and suggested we visit Cambria's showroom in Elk Grove Village. When we arrived at the Cambria showroom, rep Jaclyn Cornwall walked us through the store full slabs and showed us the different polish finishes side by side. By the time we left the showroom, we were completely confident in our quartz choice--color name, finish, and thickness. Jaclyn sent us to the Elk Grove Village Daltile showroom to pick out backsplash tiles, which we then brought back to Cambria to compare with the slabs. Seeing the slab and the tile together gave us 100% certainty. Before moving forward, we had requested quotes from several companies, but we kept coming back to Surface Solutions. Trust is important when making a big investment, and we trusted Eric and Samantha. They came through big time. Pricing was fair, turnaround was quick, and from the day we paid until installation, it was only 30 days. The install crew was excellent--removing our old countertops without damaging the cabinets and quickly installing the new quartz and sink (purchased through Surface Solutions). Everything looks fantastic, and my wife and I couldn't be happier with the result. We'll be sharing photos once the backsplash tile is installed and the cabinets are refaced, but for now, we can say with confidence: Surface Solutions is a company we'd recommend without hesitation. read more

So we have had our countertops for a 1 1/2 year- 2 years now. About a month in, on the edge of the sink, our NEW countertop gets a chip in it. We went with "the most durable" edge finish.. "the strongest". we were told this was the strongest manufactured Quartz they had... stronger then real quartz. So that's why we chose it! Also it's great for people with kids cause it won't stain. ALSO, stains... this countertop get stains ALL THE TIME, I can get MOST of them out... with a time consuming process. WE WERE ALSO TOLD, "it won't stain!" So that was a lie aswell. So right off the bat, I have staining and a chip on my new countertop I spent thousands on. I called, I was told they can fix the chip for $250 ugh! Seriously... you just installed this. My husband just said we might as well wait til there are more before we get it fixed. And sinc, we have a few more... great! :( ONE MORE THING! We were never told, that there would be a seam in the countertop we ordered... that also over time looks stained and I can see it.. it's unsightly and we were told it would be all in one piece. We don't have a huge kitchen countertop.. so we were annoyed with that as well. Not as we were told or expected. I'm disappointed in the customer service after purchasing, and that we would be charged so much to repair a countertop we JUST GOT installed. $250 seems excessive... especially after hearing the schpiel about never staining or chipping! While selecting the countertop from Surface Solutions was a good experience, the installation was another story. The countertops were installed with a 4 inch backsplash, but the installers did not caulk around the boarder. After leaving a voicemail and several emails, I was told that caulking was not included per the contract. This wasn't something that I'd anticipated nor did I look for that in the contract. The cabinets were wrong, the countertop was different from what we ordered, and the installation super delayed. They did what they wanted and not what we ordered. In our experience, they got our money upfront and did whatever they wanted. When we confronted them, they were very disrespectful and offered no solutions whatsoever.... horrible service all around!! You want a one stop shop, Well that BS, I had to resemble my sink drains, reinstall Garbage Disposal and paid $50 hook up the Water Lines. So Now I will make 50 Bad reviews all over the internet. If they would have said Plumber to re hook up all at when I went in for Estimate, and I would have paid to have it done. And the installers so arrogant, say we not plumbers and not get paid, like plumbers to reset the water lines and drains. Like WTF. So I say never ever use these people again. They said it would be installed by this morning. They have not communicated with us since. We now have a gaping hole in our countertop with no ability to use our dishwasher and kitchen sink. Horrible Communication. We talked with measuring staff , he and i agreed were to make the seams, He said he agreed it would look better were him and i talked about. We actually went to surface solutions in Orland Park per surface solutions request and put our wishes how we wanted it cut out with our sales person on our granite and wrote on the slab our choice of were we wanted the sink, island & seam. Seam is exactly were we asked it not to be. We put calls prior to install and cutting multiply times to surface solutions mokena office to confirm were the cuts would so that we were all on the same page and and no call back. Seam has sloppy epoxy on both sides inches from center of seam right along sink. A simple call to tell us we could not get what we wanted would have set things strait, but surface solutions chose to do it the way they wanted. i was told by Andrew to read my contract before an explanation, i asked Andrew why he did not call me back he said he seen my message misplaced it and got busy. many calls to Debbie at surface solutions in mokena with no response, fortunately some salvation, both my friend i work with and also another person my neighbor that got quotes form Debbie bought from another reputable company and were satisfied. Also surface solutions did not credit us when we decided not to use there so called 200.00 sink, they said they would credit us back. The Cuts around sink are amateur. Looks like they cut the top of our the cabinet with a chain saw. They wanted all there money up front, the other places we looked at requested half down and half on install, i should of known then they were not dependable at that point. i was told by Andrew it is in my contract were they decide to cut, i asked why did they have us draw it on the slab, and if that was the case why didn't someone at least call us and let us know the original l plan would just not work.
