Used WL Stone in 2019 to update my kitchen from granite to quartz. Jin and team gave me a good estimate to complete my kitchen counters. I picked out the quartz and away we went. The day of installation four workers came to remove and replace with the new quartz. There were a few issues with measurement and they had to adopt in a few areas. The quartz was fine but the new stainless sink was not properly measured and the quartz was a bit too large which created an issue with the wood cutting block which inserted into the grooves of the sink. I had to get the cutting block cut down. The rubber sink insert for drying of plates squeezed in but doesn't roll up well due to the error in cutting the quartz for the sink. The quartz initially looked fine but I noticed smudges that I could not get out WL sent one of their people multiply times to clean the service but the smudges didn't come out. I was very disappointed with the quartz appearance. The quartz was sourced by UGM from China. WL agreed to remove and refund me my cost or replace with another quartz. They originally told me they would provide a $500 rebate which I did not accept. Their quartz was stained and smudged and not produced to the best quality. The pandemic came in 2020 and after my communications to WL they told me they decided to not do anything on replacement of the quartz or removal. Today I just cleaned my quartz it is the worst looking product I could have gotten and neither UGM or WL would do what WL told me they would do to rectify the problems. I can not recommend WL for anything but cheap quartz and I would never use UGM quartz product. I had completed a review in 2020 I believe but some how it is no longer available on yelp. This could be the product source issue I don't really know but WL committed to replacement and the reneged and they told me it was the supplier's issue and I told them they were my contractor not UGM. Bottom line now in 2022 the quartz still looks smudged and not cleanable and I'm very dissatisfied with my dealings with WL. I will add pictures tomorrow. read more

We used WL Stone Works for new quartz when we remodeled our bathroom about two years ago. They did a fantastic custom job. When we decided a couple of months ago to replace the granite in our kitchen with quartz, we again hired them. We were not disappointed. Jin, whom we worked with for both jobs, is patient and knowledgeable. They loaned us numerous sample to take home and answered many questions before we made our choice. They showed up on time, removed the old granite (without damaging the original back splash), and installed the new quartz quickly and with no flaw or hiccups, and cleaned up so that you never knew they were there. We now have only one seam, which is invisible unless you know exactly where it is, compared to the two unsightly ones we had with the granite. We will have one more project, hopefully in six months, where we can use their services again. I highly recommend these professionals. That they are in the city is an added bonus. The original is the black granite. The new is cream colored quartz (Ivory Cream by MSI). (We are repainting the black cabinets and trim to the cream color, but that's another story) read more

Can I "heart" CM Stome works?? They are fantasitic! They used to be located on Archer and Halsted but recently moved HQ to 43 and Shields. If you are a retail shopper it may be best to look elsewhere. Prices are good but the help I got on a Saturday afternoon expected me to do demo and have precise measurements. Fortunately I had the measurements, and although I had my budget and was ready to purchase the representative seemed to steer me away from the color and stone types I wanted to their in-stock stones, non of which matched my home. Prices are good, but service is low. If you done all of your homework as they have your selection in stock (not special order) they're probably great. But if you want special order, I'd suggest you move along. read more

I called up half a dozen 5-star countertop companies in the Chicago area before choosing CM stoneworks because of their responsiveness, professionalism, friendliness, and reasonable price. And I couldn't be happier with them! CM stoneworks exceeded my expectations in every aspect! In addition to the skilled and speedy installation process, several things made me highly recommend this company. First of all, when we were indecisive in choosing the quartz we want, Alex and Jin were so patient and helped us by delivering several physical samples and sending pictures of projects they've done with the quartz of our interest. Secondly, we had to reschedule installation dates due to purchasing of a wrong-sized sink. CM stoneworks was able to accommodate without any questions. Lastly, after our countertop project we also had our cabinets refinished. Unfortunately the cabinet guys broke one of the caulk and was not able to restore it. I emailed Jin and hope that they wouldn't mind coming to re-caulk for me whenever they get a chance. I wasn't hoping for much since the damage was done after the beautiful job they did. However, Jin replied my email within a day and Alex came to our house after two days to re-caulk. Because of this incident, I know that I can count on CM stoneworks if anything ever goes wrong with the quartz we got. I would definitely use them again in the future! read more

Top notch customer service and quality of product! I worked with Jin throughout the process. He was extremely responsive and knowledgeable. I visited the showroom and warehouse to see the slabs in person and ended up choosing the Artic White quartz slab to replace. Within 2 weeks, the vanity tops and sinks where installed and they look amazing. To add to that, several weeks later we had our vanities refinished and the painters got some paint stains on the counter tops. I emailed Jin asking what I could use to remove the stains. Instead of answering with a product, Jin sent out Alex, who happen to be in the area, the next day to help remove the stains. Amazing customer service, even after installation! When we decide to replace our kitchen counters, CM Stoneworks will be the only place we will go to. read more
