I do not hesitate to recommend Mr Castillo. He refinished all our kitchen cabinets and did a great job. He is personable and efficient.

Some helpful hints based on our experience: 1. A big countertop dealer like MSI, located in Elk Grove Village, has a very large showroom where you can see the full countertop slabs. We had some preferences based on the web site pictures and the little quartz samples, but ended up selecting a different slab once we were in the showroom. You really want to see the full countertop slabs before your decision is finalized. 2. We were really disappointed with the Home Depot service, which is The Countertop Factory - Midwest. There was an extremely hard sell visit to our house and a take-it-or-leave it price. 3. Many quartz countertop installation services want you to select quartz they already have in stock. Davan let us shop around and we selected an MSI countetop, which MSI already had in stock. Our job therefore proceeded quickly from final slab selection to installation (less than two weeks). 4. I was unnecessarily nervous about our kitchen tile backsplash when our old formica countertops were replaced with new quartz countertops. We wanted to retain the old kitchen backsplash. That was not a problem and the installation occurred smoothly.

I have been ignored by Jose and the management team for over a week despite my repeated attempts to resolve a botched installation. I grew up the granddaughter of a Stone Mason; I know quality work, and I know when a company is taking shortcuts. I specifically chose my stone because I was told it would NOT require a seam. Later in the process, the story changed. It became clear they simply didn't want to deal with the labor-intensive task of maneuvering a large slab into place--a job that might have required a minor wall repair but would have resulted in the superior finish I paid for. I only begrudgingly agreed to a seam because they promised it would be executed perfectly. My original fears were justified: it was a disaster. The issues: * Poor Craftsmanship: The seam is recessed and uneven. It is a functional defect that collects debris and requires constant scrubbing. * Lack of Effort: While I understand vein matching is difficult, there was clearly no attempt at a professional transition here. It stands out like a sore eye. * Dismissive Management: After a failed "repair" (just smeared epoxy), the stone manager told me "nothing more can be done." In an era of digital fabrication, that is a flat-out lie. I would never dream of treating my own clients with this level of neglect. If the check has cleared, Factory Plaza is finished with you. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because the kitchen island turned out well and Gina in the front office was a sweetheart who went above and beyond to try and remedy the situation. It's a shame the owners and management don't share her work ethic. They desperately need professional development in customer service and quality control. Factory Plaza: I am still waiting for a senior technician to contact me to fix this under warranty. My next step is a formal complaint with the BBB.They chose the easy way out, then ghosted me. In an era of digital fabrication, that is a flat-out lie. * Unacceptable Communication: Untimely and inconsistent responses. I'm having to reach out to them again and again and again waiting usually almost a full business week if I receive a response at all. As a business owner and full time mom, my time is valuable. I don't appreciate them wasting mine. * Lack of Transparency: It was never mentioned to me during the process that they would not be caulking the counter to the wall. When I brought it up, it was brushed aside as something in their lengthy contract. I would never dream of treating my own clients with this level of neglect. Spoke to Irene Lopez and went down the next day. She showed me my "chosen" Terrazura and also had another slab she thought would work. Both slabs looked great with my flooring, cabinet and paint colors. I went with the Terrazura and everything continued to go smoothly through installation. I'm beyond thrilled with my new kitchen and love my quartz. Highly recommend Factory Plaza! And big thanks to Irene for seeing my vision and Alex for a flawless installation. I've forgotten the name of the gentleman who measured but he made a suggestion to add a strip of the quartz behind my stove and it made the whole look so custom. So highly recommend!

I live in a 1 story coach house, a studio really, where space is at a premium. The high-end faucet…read moreon my island in the middle of the space looked cool but wasn't particularly functional. Worse, it rose 14 inches from the counter, directly in the sightline between my bed and the TV projection screen, which are at opposite ends of the space. I found a replacement faucet that, when not in use, telescopes down into the sink cabinet so I would no longer have to peer around the faucet to read the captions on the screen. But it required another hole for the mixer as the original was a one-hole faucet. The countertop is Dekton porcelain manufactured material, designed to survive a nuclear bomb, so I needed someone with the equipment to drill a new hole and not crack the countertop. Clearly a small job, I was worried no one would care about my TV viewing habits enough to offer to do it. Victor was super-fast to respond, was reasonably priced, called me the morning he said he would with a time window, then showed up on time. It took all of 5 minutes and for good measure, he helped me remove the old faucet that I had half-uninstalled but got stuck. He also cleaned up. I had procrastinated for 8 months - this faucet has been sitting boxed under my sofa since December, so it is embarrassing how easy this ended up being. Great crew and great team!
