The finished piece's dimensions are only 11" x 24"-- so QUITE small in the grand scheme of things. Several vendors I had called previously informed me that they don't take on such niche projects. Custom Marble Design, however, were the first to respond and went above and beyond in their customer service, execution, and workmanship. As soon as they received my inquiry, they extended an invite to visit their location and shop thru available remnants. When I arrived, I was personally escorted around the premises and shown a variety of options (multiple stone types and color variations.) I had lots of questions-- all of which were answered thoroughly and kindly. Even though I arrived about 30 minutes before closing time (I received their invite while I was running errands & headed straight over), I never felt rushed or dismissed. My "little project" was treated with the utmost care & respect. This location also offered me a flat rate price for the project, so there were no hidden fees or complications regarding the stone I selected or my finishing parameters. I officially placed my order (stone selection and project specs) on Tuesday and was shocked to learn that it was ready for pick up that Friday. I just picked up the finished stonework today & could not be more pleased with the results! The order was completed to my exact specifications & finished with care. When I told them that I'd carry the piece to my car they insisted on taking it out for me. Everyone I encountered at this business (in person & via email) was exceptionally attentive, professional, and kind. (Special thanks to Bojan & Jovan and their fabulous fabricators!) Some helpful hints based on our experience: 1. A big countertop dealer like MSI, located in Elk Grove Village, has a very large showroom where you can see the full countertop slabs. We had some preferences based on the web site pictures and the little quartz samples, but ended up selecting a different slab once we were in the showroom. You really want to see the full countertop slabs before your decision is finalized. 2. We were really disappointed with the Home Depot service, which is The Countertop Factory - Midwest. There was an extremely hard sell visit to our house and a take-it-or-leave it price. 3. Many quartz countertop installation services want you to select quartz they already have in stock. Davan let us shop around and we selected an MSI countetop, which MSI already had in stock. Our job therefore proceeded quickly from final slab selection to installation (less than two weeks). 4. I was unnecessarily nervous about our kitchen tile backsplash when our old formica countertops were replaced with new quartz countertops. We wanted to retain the old kitchen backsplash. That was not a problem and the installation occurred smoothly.

Well we needed their help with a new dishwasher that needed to be screwed into the quartz rather than the sides of the cabinet. Abt installed the dishwasher and due to a vent under the peninsula could not push the dw back far enough so it would have to be secured from the top and they wisely would not drill into the quartz. We called Anna at Art Granite and asked for help and of course Art was ready to help us out. He got the job done and for a very reasonable honest charge. If you need countertops and are thinking not interested in any big box stores, think Art Granite in Schaumburg, they go all over and are the most honest and professional anywhere!!! Ordered a quartz countertop and a sink from Victor who I found through Facebook Marketplace…read more Picked it up on Friday and Victor wasn't there but his employee was. The employee put the sink on backwards. He had to rip it off and put it back on again. He did not do a good job as it shifted off of the countertop on our way home. Plus there wasn't a good amount of sealant or whatever between the sink and the countertop. I reached out to Victor and told him, sent pictures per his request and no response. Reached out six days later and still no response. Even got a read receipt from his iPhone saying he read it. Had to remove the sink ourselves and found the sink was defective with a bump in the porcelain plus his employee got adhesive, (like caulk but nothing would take it off), on the porcelain. Had to order a new sink. As my spouse and I were installing the sink correctly, we realized Victor's employee had cut it wrong. The unfinished side with the side splash should have been seven inches and the finished side should be six, (as it's not against a wall). Instead the unfinished side is six and the finished side is seven. With the side splash on it looks ridiculous and uneven. I messaged Victor, (no idea if that's even his real name), though Facebook messenger and he wasn't responding even though I could see he was reading my messages. When I said he doesn't care because he had his money he sent me a message back that made no sense and blocked me. Absolutely will not recommend. Avoid at all costs. This guy and his team are a scam and have no business doing anything with quartz or granite. Shoddy work. I'm out hundreds of dollars, but you don't have to be! Find someone else. Anyone and anywhere else...just not this place. This place shouldn't even have one star. It's that bad.
