Ryan suggested a supplier based on our preferences, and he even met us on site to help us inspect the materials. Countertop 101: Pick out the slab and stone that you want from a supplier. And THEN you find a fabricator. The fabricator will cut the slab and charge you the price. (Betcha didn't know that!) 2/3/15 was the first time I contacted Bojan to fabricate my kitchen countertop. It was installed in 1 day on 9/14/15. What took so long, you ask? My husband and I decided that instead of hiring a GC who would upcharge ~20%, we would be the GCs instead. Mind you, this is our 1st home and the learning curve is steep. There's a piece of us that dies every day during this 10 month (and counting) renovation. Bojan walked us through the process and was so patient, even with multiple layout edits. Heck, he held our massive slab of quartzite in his warehouse for 7 months bc we told him we'd be ready in a few. We also wanted a mitered edge purely bc we are superficial ppl. But our bank acct hasn't seen numbers like that since college days. Instead of scoffing at us for wanting something luxurious w/o the funds, Bojan was willing to work with us. We used Custom Marble Design for the surround on our fireplace, the counter tops in our master and guest baths, and also for my husband's custom bar. Taking advice from the reviews I read on Yelp, we went in and asked to see some slabs first. Bojan showed us a wide array of what was available based off what I wanted. We got lucky and found 2 pieces that worked for the fireplace (Brazilian Quartzite) and Master Bath (we used the same quartzite), as well as for the kids bath (white quartz). He gave us a fair price and even though we were having a ton of work done and the scheduling was crazy, he worked with us to get our slabs cut and installed when we wanted and needed them. We then needed a piece of stone for the bar - he showed us a gorgeous piece of marble and again gave us a good price. It was cut and installed within a couple days and we absolutely love it. When the seal was coming undone (the caulk seal) in our bathroom, he sent his guys out to redo the seal. And when we had to remove the counter top to place on a new vanity, he sent his guys out at a discounted price to do the work a second time. Bojan and his team are really great to work with. Bojan is always very quick to return my emails and phone calls, and he really knows his stuff. He has a great selection of remnant slabs, which I have taken advantage of, but obviously can get you whatever you want/need. Their customer service is excellent and pricing is great - I highly recommend Custom Marble Design and when we expand our kitchen and add our new Master Suite in a year or two, you know who we will be calling! read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I just had to write this one. I recently remodeled my kitchen and hired Bojan's company to do the countertops and full backspash. From the moment I contacted Bojan about the quote, it's been a wonderful experience. He replied within an hour! I wanted to do Volga Blue granite for the countertops, so he recommended a company that had the largest selection of Volga Blue. Fabrication and installation went very smoothly. The installers were great! They came on time, set my expectations, finished on time, cleaned up after themselves. Two weeks later, after I finally put all my dishes into the cabinets, I noticed that one of the doors wasn't closing smoothly and there was a friction with the backsplash (probably the cabinet sunk a bit due to the weight of the dishes). I contacted Bojan and right away he offered to send his guys to fix it. They just finished here. Needless to say they did an excellent job, again. I would highly recommend Bojan's company. CMD installed new countertops when we redid our kitchen. I found them on yelp and they did a great job! All the staff that I worked with were wonderful. Jovan was very responsive and easy to reach. The person who took the measurements was accurate so there were no issues with the final product. They recommended places to see the different countertops and were willing to go to shop where i had seen the one I ultimately chose. They gave me a reasonable quote with no hidden charges. The installers had to come out twice because the sink that i had ordered had a hareline crack that we had not noticed. When the intaller pointed out to the defect to me, I chose to return the sink as i did not want to install a new sink which had a small defect. Over the past 5 years, I have dealt with a lot of contractors in Chicago - from electrical, plumbing, painting, handymen, custom closet and woodwork, appliance installation, and cabinetry/kitchen installs, etc. - and Custom Marble Design might be the best, most pleasant experience I've had dealing with a contractor. They certainly rank at the very top of the list. We recently purchased a new place in the city and I wanted to replace all of the bathroom counter tops with marble. I requested an estimate using their online form and Bojan reached out to me that day (I think within an hour or so). Okay, first of all, that is unheard of. I couldn't believe how quickly he responded. And that was my experience over the next couple of weeks working with him. Anytime I emailed - day or night and even weekends (!) - his response time was fantastic. I don't know about everyone else, but that is one of my biggest pet peeves in dealing with contractors: their snail-like pace in responding to people who WANT to work with them! Bojan gave me a few options on how to proceed and ultimately I went to the marble showroom of the fabricator they work with (pretty cool place - if you're into marble that is), I picked out my marble, got an estimate from Bojan that day (a Saturday) on the cost and he even offered to sell me some smaller leftover slabs of the same marble I had selected that he had on hand to save me some money (the size didn't work out but it was a nice gesture). A few days later, he stopped by my house to firm up the measurements. Super nice guy, btw. Within a week, his guys were back to do the install and it turned out beautifully. I contacted CMD on Saturday 2/2/2012 about a Marble top for a desk I had built. When I reached Bojan he was out of town, but he still made sure I was able to move ahead on my project promptly. On Monday 2/4/2012 I was sent to a warehouse where I was able to pick just the piece of marble I would like, even what part of the large slab I would like used. The following day 2/5/2012 Bojan had someone at my home to take measurements and give final requests. On 2/12/2012 my desk top was installed.
