I highly recommend Cabinet Refacing Chicago! We hired Moises and his team to completely renovate our kitchen. They refaced/painted our cabinets, extended our island and added custom woodwork, replaced our countertops/sink/electric, etc. Our kitchen was completely transformed, and it was done in EIGHT DAYS. EIGHT! I have friends who did similar work at a similar price and waited months for an inferior product. I couldn't believe how efficient and professional the team was. Each day the team clearly communicated what time they would be arriving and what they planning to accomplish. I used Cabinet Refacing Chicago to refresh the kitchen in my 16 year old condo. I dealt mainly with the owner Moises, who provided the estimates, and his wife Patricia who handled scheduling and material selection, as well as their son Christian who led the project work on site. I'm very pleased with the results; my kitchen leapt from early-2000s builder grade to an upgraded, on-trend, yet still classic look (before/after pics attached). The paint finish on the cabinets is impeccable, and they used soft close hinges and drawer slides throughout. I also had new countertops, sink/faucet, and backsplash installed. The work took place over two weeks, with about 6 or 7 days of actual on-site time (there was a holiday and a weekend within that time span). The crew did a good job of cleaning up after themselves each day, and took measures to minimize dust/dirt settling outside the project area (although it was impossible to avoid it completely). The only major downsides for me centered around some communication issues during the estimating and scheduling stages of the project. Emails sometimes went unanswered for several days. They were more responsive to phone calls, however. There was also some miscommunication around the cabinet hardware; when I visited the shop I was shown some drawer pull samples and requested a price quote on a particular style, only to be told later that they only offered one style of pull. I ended up purchasing the cabinet hardware elsewhere. To be fair, these issues are understandable to some extent given that it's a small, locally-owned shop with limited resources. (If I could, I would knock off just 1/2 star for these inconveniences instead of a whole star.) Overall it was a pleasure working with Moises and Patricia and their team, and I am considering using their services again to redo my bathrooms down the road. read more

The owner Moises and his son Chris were extremely knowledgable and helpful in offering suggestions on ways to update our kitchen in practical and cost effective ways . I have done business with this company and they are A-OK on the work that they do. I would recommend that you spend time picking out the exact color you want your cabinets to be beforehand. Get a sample wood stain and have them follow it. This company is highly experienced with wood refinishing and refacing cabinets and furniture. They built custom furniture for me and they have refinished some older wood furniture of mine. I found them one day when walking down the street in my neighborhood and they seemed friendly enough and showed me their shop. I started with one old wooden chair that I acquired from a family hand me down and they did a nice job revitalizing it. Then I had them build me a media cabinet to store my collection of DVDs and CDs and then they built for me a custom coffee table with Frank Lloyd Wright styled stained glass and the result is pretty darn neat! Growing up in Oak Park, Illinois it was nice to incorporate my own homage to Frank Lloyd Wright and make a coffee table with some of his styling incorporated into it. Next, I had them build for me a custom desk which is perfect for a man of my size (I am 6'4). And the last thing I had them do for me was to refinish an old Ikea bookshelf and a really old wooden shelf which I think was homemade by someone some time ago (another family hand me down furniture item). On these jobs they did excellent work too - especially considering that the wood I had them refinish was pine. (Pine wood is really a bad choice for staining as the result is normally yellowish when a lighter color is applied.) Ivan took a lot of time to get the darker wood stain color I wanted which colored over the yellowish pine wood and the result is better than I could have hoped for. read more

I actually chose to work with Moises, Patricia and their crew based on reviews I had read here on Yelp. So thank you to those that gave such great input. You were right on! My husband and I wanted to reface our kitchen cabinets and I had a very specific design in mind. I am always a bit cautious about working with contractors base on some of the horror stories you hear. But I could tell when I met with Moises, I liked him immediately. Mainly because we not only discussed my ideas for the kitchen, but we talked more about our families and the love of our work. And Moises and his crew are very passionate about their work. So, I'll get to the point. First, this was a much bigger project than I had originally anticipated. There were major power tools set up in my home and a lot of sawing and spray painting going on. I know what you thinking...what a mess. But on the contrary, each night before the guys left, the house was cleaned up and outside of some major dust (which is to be expected), you would never have know they were there. The guys had all been with Moises for 10+ years and were more than exceptional at what they did. Sweet as pie too. We insisted on buying them lunch on the last day as they had worked so hard. Secondly, Moises was not only able to make my vision for the kitchen come alive, but he contributed to the vision and made the overall flow of the kitchen much more pleasing. We discussed everything in detail during the planning stages and Moises was really flexible when it came to making any changes that I wanted. Finally, the cost, or should I say, the investment. Well, basically what I received was beautiful impeccably made custom cabinet doors, crown molding, facings on the side of the cabinets, a custom wine rack and glass cabinet facings on a few of the cabinet fronts. It is a shame that you cannot post pictures on Yelp because a picture in this instance is worth a thousand words. But check out their web site because I know they will have pictures of my project there. Overall the price I paid was reasonable and worth every penny. I would highly recommend Moises and Patricia, not just for a refacing project, but for any project that involves woodworking in some fashion. We decided to remodel our small kitchen this summer. After some research and an unfortunate encounter with a Home Depot sales rep, we decided to try Cabinet Refacing Chicago (aka The Stripp Joynt). When Moises came out to our condo prior to submitting an estimate, he had a few good suggestions to improve the efficiency of the kitchen. Moises and Patricia were also helpful in writing up the order so that we could get exactly what we wanted. We had the existing cabinets refaced with a gloss finish and replaced a laminate countertop with a quartz one. Fidel and his crew were great. They were careful, neat and paid attention to detail.
